My son bought his fiance his engagement ring from this store in December. since that time, they have had NOTHING but problems. The salesperson defrauded him telling him a ring was a carat diamond and it was a .67. He was told one amount and then it turned out to be $2000 more. Now, since it was financed, payment was made to their finance company and even with the bank showing the deduction and the payment on their statement now they are getting letters saying they never paid! Is this a joke or what! This was supposed to be one of the happiest time in their lives-Michael Hill has caused them both so much stress it is ridulous. Every person they worked with is no longer at the store. I believe they took advantage of them both due to their age (20). You would think a supposed reputable store would stand behind and due whatever necessary to make their customers happy so they keep coming back - not Michael Hill! And now they have to deal with this finance company that obviously is no better. sincerely - an upset mother

Awful experience at the Oakbrook Michael Hill. My fiance went there to buy my engagement ring after I told him about the ring I fell in love with. The only problem was that my engagement ring only came with 1/2 carat, but we wanted a full carat. They said the only way they could increase the diamond size was if he bought a whole separate engagement ring. They made him buy 2 separate engagement rings! He did not know any better because this is his first engagement. When I found this out we went to the store and they said they dont think they will be able to return it because it was "custom." They never told him this information and when we reminded them of this they said, "well it was implied." The engagement process is supposed to be a happy time, but it has been nothing but dissapointing due to Michael Hills poor service.

If you pay that much for a piece of jewelry that falls apart....the least they can do is fix it. Especially if you paid for the most expensive warranty and has it for only a year... Diamond fell out within 3 months. Very deceitful. Rude customer service. Ring broke and diamonds were lost in less than a year. They make you have some little slip of paper if you want it fixed....so if you thew it out you are screwed because they wont fix it...warranty is "void" I would not recommend. I also was told I paid way to much for what I got, so I got ripped off in more ways than one. Avoid!

Was told that I had a 60 day return policy. IT IS NOT TRUE once you put that ring on your finger. I wore it around the house for a few days, AROUND THE HOUSE NOT DOING ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE DAMAGE, and decided it was not the ring for me. Well I brought it back and they claimed it was worn, making it damaged and couldnt be returned! I will never shop there again. And I will tell everyone I know and come into contact with to avoid this store. If I could give zero stars I would!! The sales people just want to get you in, make their commission, and get you out. VERY UNSATISFIED.
