Very disappointed with this jeweler. I had never been to Merry Richards store before but read some nice reviews so I took a chance. I have a custom wedding ring that was made to fit into my engagement ring. My wedding ring also has part of my grandfather’s ring melted into the gold which obviously makes it very special to me. The engagement ring and wedding ring were soldered in the back together. They have been that way since 2009. The other day my engagement ring snapped at work and broke in the back. The 2 separate rings were still soldered together though. Extremely minor break on the engagement ring. I went to Merry Richards to simply get the break on the engagement ring soldered. They kept my ring for 5 days over a holiday weekend and called me sooner than expected to tell me it was ready to be picked up. I went to pick up my ring and immediately noticed that the soldering job was shotty at best. When looking at the back of the ring, the left side was smooth and filled in but the right side seemed like it was overlooked… but the ring itself was “off”. The front of my engagement ring no longer fit into the divots on the wedding ring. You could force the ring into place by pressing really hard to the left. The long haired blonde lady, Renee, tried to tell me that my ring may have shifted over time and I didn’t notice until now since it was just cleaned. No no no… not the case. I explained that the engagement ring needed to fit in the divots as it did when I dropped it off. She said they may have to separate the rings completely and reset them and resolder. I told her this was fine to do. The following day my ring was ready to be picked up again. I went back and picked it up. Renee was not present when I picked up my ring for the 2nd time. I noticed the same exact soldering job that was completed when I picked up my ring the day before. So they did not separate the rings and resolder as they told me they may have to do. The ring just so happened to fit in the divots now. Only… the entire wedding band had now shifted. What was straight before… was now, for a lack of a better word, tilted. It’s like they heated up my ring to make the metal moldable and just pushed it back into place without having to redo the shotty soldering job in the back. The entire face of my ring is now altered because of this. Not to mention that I had antiquing done on my wedding ring. When Merry Richards “cleaned” my ring, they just rubbed all the antiquing off of both sides and returned it to me this way. I wanted to cry when I picked my ring up but decided I better get out of the store with what I had at this point. I didn’t dare give them the ring to fix a 3rd time. I was afraid it would be ruined and there would be a point of no return. I would never recommend Merry Richards to anyone. I took a chance going to them because they are right down the street from where I work. I trusted them with my ring that is very special to me. They handled it without care and the quality of their work is laughable. I was surprised to see this type of work from Merry Richards, as I felt they were quite reputable. I did not take any pictures of the front of my ring before I took it into Merry Richards because… quite frankly, I had no idea this would happen. I was getting soldering work done on the back part of my ring. So I never imagined that the whole face of my ring would be altered in any way. Lesson learned. I’m going to have to take my ring to another jeweler to fix what Merry Richards messed up. What should’ve cost $100 for a simply soldering job is now going to cost me much more. I went back to Merry Richards to get my money back. I have to say, my money was refunded without much of a fight which told me that they knew they messed my ring up.

Wouldve shopped elsewhere if I knew what I was getting into. My fiance liked Tacori rings and Merry Richards had competitive prices on diamonds and was a Tacori dealer. I ordered a ring and had multiple issues. Mainly (as you can see from attached photos), the diamond was mounted crooked. The ring was shipped to me and I immediately brought it into the store. The worker and their jeweler thought it was fine. Finally the owner saw it and agreed with me. We sent it back to tacori for repair of the crooked mount and misshapen prongs (not v-shaped). I specifically talked to Merry Richards again stating that I wanted the orientation/crookedness corrected. They gave the ring back to my fiance crooked. We brought he ring back in for a second time and they had to send it for repair a second time. In all, I received a ring with a crooked diamond, incorrect prongs, and had to send the ring back multiple times which took several weeks each time. The store worker and jeweler flat out lied to me - stating they thought it was oriented correctly. In total, my fiance went well over a month without her ring as it had to be sent back multiple times, and I had to break the news to her that it would require repair soon after I gave it to her. Id much rather have paid more elsewhere. Merry Richards said theyd give me a gift card for the trouble (although I wouldnt buy from them again) and never delivered.

My Fiance and I came to Merry Richards based on a recommendation from a friend. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by Scott and Laura, the latter became our personal consultant. Previous to Merry Richards, we had visited several national chain jewelers but did not enjoy the visits due to pushy sales tactics and did not get a chance to fall in love with a ring. Scott and Laura were very patient and educated us on the fine points of grading a diamond. They spent several hours with us evaluating rings, settings and diamonds without ever pushing us towards a sale. We decided to design the ring using advice from our visit. After our consultation, Laura sent us a CAD drawing from their designers and we agreed to proceed. To keep the proposal a surprise, Scott even helped me fib to my fiance and delivered the ring without my fiance ever knowing. We have since gone back for our wedding bands. Laura did the same and helped my fiance design her band and me pick out my band. Fantastic service and personalization all around. We will definitely be going back for our future jewelry needs.

I wanted to give my wife a beautiful ring for our 25th Anniversary... I was somewhat unsure of where to go but didnt want to go to a large chain...I wanted the expertise from a Jewelers Row type of store but really didnt want to go to the city.. I came across some reviews for Merry Richards and decided to start here.. Well I met Laura when I came in the store and described my situation as well as my tight time frame... After describing what I was looking for Laura amazingly made it appear in front of me...After discussing my budget Laura knew exactly what to show me and I swear it was absolutely the perfect diamond more sparkling than the more expensive diamond... Again Lauras expertise in knowing what makes a diamond beautiful was key in my decision...I asked Laura to hold this for me with the intention of thinking on it and shopping around but after leaving there I just had the confidence that this was the right diamond at the right place... Although Diamonds are expensive I feel that I really got what I paid for and a great customer experience as well. Thanks! Dave D.
