Stay away stay away stay away! I am planning my wedding and anyone I have dealt with the past year has been wonderful and helpful. This store is run by inept, condescending a-holes. They are extremely unhelpful and rude. Dont even try to return something. I tried returning wedding program kits for others that are the exact same thing only a different style. Same brand, same price and same # per box. As the paying customer they were the same to me. In my business, and any other business for that matter, these would be considered like items and an even exchange would be a no-brainer. The manager here talked down to me ("No they are NOT the same thing"....how are they not??? at least EXPLAIN) and would not give me an even exchange. I had bought them the previous day with a 40% off coupon and spent the previous day driving all over the burbs to use my coupon as I am paying for most of my wedding myself. The ones I bought were too small so I wanted to go with a bigger booklet. The woman refused to exchange the items and the cashier tried to get me to pay $40 for the exchange. The manager told me I couldnt do an even exchange because my coupon had expired the day before? Wtf? What a stupid rule and Im pretty sure she could have overwritten that or given me coupons that were for that day (I had one already for something else). If thats the rule fine - do your job, make me feel better about the situation, have me leave a happy customer. Her solution was to give me my cash back and to come back next weekend with coupons - she didnt even give me coupons. My wedding is mere weeks away and next weekend is one of my last weekends before it and now I have to waste time going to Michaels when she could have helped me right then and there. I dont live anywhere near one so its a big to-do to get to one. I am not the only one that has had major customer service issues here. I told this story to friends and got the "me too!!!" response. These people treat their customers like dirt. Go spend your money elsewhere - everything they sell can be found at better businesses.

I love the store, however the sales clerk I had today, September 9th, 2014 at 12:30 in the afternoon was very rude and had a horrible attitude. At one point, she rolled her eyes at me because I was looking for my teachers identification badge. Since I didnt have it with me, she said she couldnt give me the 15% off discount, although I was willing to call the school I work at and have then verify for me. I was buying only teacher items, flashcards and charts. When I found my Joann Fabrics teacher ID card, she made some guttural noise and finally gave me the discount. The discount was only for $1.02 but it was the point that I was telling her the truth. She made me feel like I was a liar. I have never experienced anything like this before and never had this issue at Joann Fabrics or Hobby Lobby. I hope she was just having an "off" day, but working for a time in retail myself, I know that you always try to please the costumer. I am hoping that since you are looking for new employees, you will instill this idea in them. Right now, I have a bad taste in my mouth for Michaels. It is sad that one rude employee can make so much of an impact on a loyal costumer like myself. Sincerely, a McHenry area teacher

Michaels is "The one". Thats right and Ill bet you a penny that they didnt know either. So when your looking for direction let the bull with a sharp beaver eye steer you here. At Michaels they have the finest selections of crafts and pre-assembled decorations for your home. In our home which consists of the Nabla DEL Eye of the Taurus Bull, Aldebaran ~ 65 light years away and Draco; a never setting circumpolar tau heart which can be seen all year from northern latitudes WE invite you to stop in and discover Bae the Blue Ox. Trust me when I say the knowledge is legendary lumberjack. So the tip of the horn has just suggested that you see the (chroma-inversion) of to witness this key. Tell Chuck, hes a lumberjack thirsty for factual knowledge that is golden.

I love the local Michaels! It is one of the cleanest and most organized of Michaels I have ever been to. The people working here are generally super friendly and always helpful when you have a question. The stock is also generally well stocked and they have everything you could possibly need be it an arts & crafts project, a kids school project, or an avant garde artistic endeavour. They are actually significantly cheaper than going to Blick or the like competitors.

Went in there for painting supplies and they were in the process of changing the store around so somethings were in the back still so I had to ask for some help to see if the items that I needed were available. The women who helped me was super nice and very helpful. I was able to find what I was looking for.

Has the arts and crafts supplies I need, and unlike the on-line store, I can see colors, shape, functionality of a product l want. Also, walking the aisles, I usually fu d something unexpected and cool to out in my basket or cart.
