I made several calls to this "Best TRY" and no one would answer the phone. I drove all the way from Winnetka, IL to Evanston, IL where the location of the store is and While on hold for 35 minutes waiting for a employee to answer! I entered store while I observed 6 employees standing talking with one another and not assisting the very few customers within! Walked to a employee that was sitting watching tv and and asked why is none of you answering the phone as I am on hold right now and showed the half hour plus time on my phone!The employee shrugged shoulders and called a young kid employee over and he walked away and sat nack down watching tv! Why is this place even open to the public? Why and how do there individuals have employment positions and how is this a successful business with these horrible work ethics! Horrible customer service! took my laptop there to be reset and save all my picture files etc..not cheap, but you can count on them doing it right. Kat, from the geek squad, was Great to deal with, very helpful, i came in with 3 kids, she was quick, explained everything and didnt keep me there longer than needed. She said it would be ready in 24hrs.. and it was ready in 24hrs....!! Thanks Kat but when picking it up, i got this other, never got her name, i didnt really wanted to deal with the whole "wanna speak with your manager" thing.. I had the kids with me that day too. Not a very nice person to deal with, bad attitude, first thing she said was.. "do you have an appointment?".. an appointment?? I said, no, im just picking up my computer, they called me, said it was ready" "well, you still need an appointment" i told her I wanted to make one then, she said, that she had a costumer coming in 5 min, and that the next time she had was in 30min. I asked what was the appointment for? " We need to go over the stuff we did and make sure youre ok with everything and see if you have any questions". at this point i know im just gonna kill some time (not hard at BB) come back, when they pull out my computer im just gonna close it and leave. But all i said was OK. She takes the next person in line and the firat thing that comes out of her mouth is.. "do you have an appointment??" 20 minutes later, i get a call from BB and its her, and with a very VERY different tone she asks " Hi Arturo, where are you? did you leave? we have your computer ready." i went back, and a very different person gave us our computer, did not spend 5min there, i signed a peper i checked if my files where there while she printed some paperwork and we were done. Then i noticed that Kat was there now, i dont know if she is her manager or something but if she is, this girl needs to learn a thing or two from her. And she is the reason for the 4 stars and not 5 But dont let a bad apple keep you from coming here, the rest of the people are very nice and helpful..

They have screwed more things up than a hooker on a street corner. When I had a problem with my computer, it took them 6 times to fix it: but on the 6th time when they shipped it back, they lost it. Thats a bunch of genius right there. And now I have a dishwasher issue where I have tried to have it delivered and the first three times they screwed it up. Then they ran out of the dishwasher that I wanted and it was on backorder. Then they gave me a different unit but it didnt fit in the space because it was too short and wouldnt clear the lines. None of the sales people knew that that unit was shorter than normal. That didnt get delivered so they gave me another unit. When it came time to deliver it, they came out without telling the renters that it was being delivered without making an appointment. Thats a ton of stupid right there. This has been seven times that we have been trying to get a dishwasher in my condo. Please dont show up there. Go to Sears or someplace professional where they know how to deliver and know their product. They would get an F-, if I could give it. It took a total of 13 visits to be able to get my funds back out of the lost computer funds with the purchase of other items. They take something that is supposed to be enjoyable and turn it into rocket science and terrorism. SHAME !!!!

This is not so much a rating for this best buy as it is best buy in general. My computer broke last night and I went to this best buy to purchase a new computer sku #4700082. The computer I wanted was unavailable at this store but they told me that the Best buy on Touhy had 3 computers coming. This technology company doesn’t have an inventory system that could tell me if the 3 computers being shipped to the other store were reserved and they didnt bother to offer calling to save me a trip. I went to the other store where it took them 15 minutes to figure out that the computers were coming and that they were all reserved. I am extremely disappointed in Best Buys service and I do not think I will be returning in the future because I can get no service on Amazon and countless other websites but wouldnt have to waste time driving around. What is the point of having a brick and mortar store if the selection to choose from is so limited?

My wife had a virus on her PC affecting her browser and couldnt get rid of it, so we called the Geek Squad. Some slacker came out and, after several hours, couldnt fix it either, so he installed FireFox and told my wife to use that browser instead of Explorer. The virus soon latched onto FireFox and the problems started all over again. My wife ended up fixing it herself by manually restoring the hard drive from an earlier back-up. Went to Best Buy and asked for a refund of the $480.00 (!!!) repair bill, since their "repair" didnt accomplish anything. They kept giving me the runaround, telling me the manager wasnt in and that Id have to come back later blah blah blah. Never got the refund. I used to spend $1000-1200 yearly at Best Buy, especially at Christmas, but decided I would never buy from them again. Havent set foot in that store for over five years.
