I really hate writing negative reviews because I know it comes down to an individuals own experience each time, however this was such a bad experience (more than one visit!) that I need to. I purchased a pair of boots here for my husband (who works outside on his feet for 10-16 hours a day) less than a month ago for the holidays. We made sure they were marked waterproof since he is in the elements so often. However, every time its been wet outside, so have his feet. So, I researched the warranty and called in just yesterday to double check that he can exchange them due to a defect. The gentleman who answered was great and let me know that he pulled up our info in their system and my husband could go in anytime (no receipt needed since they log everything) to complete the exchange. He dropped in today to do just that and was told by the only person in the store - an older woman who spoke down to him - that he would not be allowed to do that. When he told me this, I immediately called to find out why the heck not. She explained that she had only been there for 2 months so she was incapable of navigating their systems, and besides - only a manager can approve this. Fine. I can understand that. So she took my husbands contact info so a manager can get back to him. Not an hour later she calls him back to come back into the store - she found that this exchange had already been marked approved with his new boots set aside waiting for him! Oops! Again, reasonable mistake... so I thought. Now his second trip there today (we do not live locally), she tells him that he should have brought his receipt as she cannot look him up in the system - again, she has only been there 2 months. After he complains about this, having driven back again the same day because she TOLD him to, she magically figures out how to find his account in their system and accomplish the exchange. Now a ditzy employee who makes you drive all over creation is one thing, and more than likely can be forgiven. However while sitting there putting on his new boots, another customer walks in. She proceeds to chat with him about how she remembers helping this guy buy his boots LAST January. Over a year of working there while telling us shes so new she cant help us? After making him drive back there? And the whole time speaking to my husband as if he is a neanderthal? Im sorry, but there is no reason for that. There are plenty of other Red Wing stores and places to buy them. Well never step foot in this location again.

Bought a pair of $180 boots. The older lady was very busy and just pushed shoes on me. I wore them for two days and got sores on my heels and blisters on my toes. I brought then back for a refund and got a lot of attitude and huff and puffs. She said if you would have waited longer I would have made that not happen. She was very unprofessional and very rude.

Ive bought 3 pairs of boots from here now and Ive had all three resoled through this store. The gentleman at this store steered me toward the 2406 about 5 or 6 years ago and its my go to work boot now.

Guy at store couldnt help me with defective boot. Sole cracked in half after one year. His response was that its typical for that type of boot and to take to shoe repair for new sole.
