This story begins two months ago when we ordered laminate flooring. It wasnt until the installer came for installation that we learned that the slant to the floor was too great and they wouldnt be able to correct it. The person who came to do the initial evaluation had noted that the floor was uneven and we were led to believe that the installer would be able to correct this. When this turned out NOT to be the case, we ordered carpeting. It took Home Depot almost two weeks to come pick up the laminate and today when the carpeting was to be installed, the installer told me they couldnt proceed b/c there was a question about whether the tile that was under the original carpet had asbestos. I thinking that the person who came to do the initial evaluation should have taken a look under the carpeting to see what was under there so that we may have avoided this current mess. Meanwhile we had to move everything back up into the room after its been taken apart for two months b/c I need my dining room back for my daughters graduation party tomorrow. While the staff @ the Home Depot have been polite and helpful in person, I find the people they outsourced to do the initial measuring and scoping out of the project to be horrid.

I wish I could give another star because the lady I spoke to for pick up was very friendly but cluess. I like shopping at home depot online I get really good deals. But the store is a different ball game. I ordered online for store pick up , and I went to go pick up the screw driver set. They tell me they are out of them. But online clearly shows they were in stock!? I dont get it I also called to make sure and I was assured it was ready. Only to waste my gas and be extremely disappointed. All they could say was sorry , what about get your acts together.

This home Depot is by far the best of all and Im a contractor and have been to many stores around Chicago. Eric the head cashier is very helpful and can always seem to find what Im looking for. The guys in the paint department always get my colors right and actually taught me something I didnt know about drying times for red and yellow pigments. I will continue to shop here and recommend this place above any other home improvement store.

Do not buy carpet from here. They are supposed to call me to set up an installation date and it has taken them 4 days to call me. Everytime I go there or call they say they dont know what they are doing and I have to wait till someone comes back from lunch or until the next day because the person that can help me is not working right now. Very frustrating. I have had a great experience buying carpet from Lowes.

My favorite store for many reasons! including one particular associate Jermichael Holloway, he went out of his way far and beyond for what I was looking for. Not only that but had it built for me. This person had a great response to all my questions as all other employees do as well. This store has never unsatisfied me, I will continue to shop at this Home Depot with future projects. Thanks again Mr. Holloway.

If you want to see teens texting and ignoring you when you need help finding some thing. Then this is the store for you. I saw 3 employees talking in garden section, some were security and still didnt get help. Once I did, I later found out they dont have my product in stock. Horrible store. I hope they tear this building down and build a menards or Lowes.

20 years ago, Home Depot prided itself on quick, expert help. As theyve expanded and defeated the competition, they pay minimum wage and dont train their employees. In general, the waiting in a department is excruciating and the secondary wait for someone who can actually answer your question is just as long. Not really worth the price savings.

Extremely poor customer sservice, as should be expected if you have ever visited any home depot in the state of Illinois. Clueless employees. On occasion you can find someone who at least cares about their job, but most of the time Im literally chasing down employees so try to receive some service. Go to Menards

I called this Home Depot looking for a specific item, and was assured that they had it. So I drove down there, fairly far from my house, only to arrive and be told that they actually didnt carry the item. Wasted trip, after being assured on the phone that the item was in stock.

Shame on me! they lost $8000 in window business because of terrible service, today its a $2000 door, dont call, service sucks, ok if you want a light bulb. I actually had my kitchen designed at another location because they suck

No matter what time of the day I call the store, even when not too busy as indicated by their website, people working in 70% of the departments do not answer their phones after 5 or 6 attempts to get through to them.

Most things they offer are affordable and the quality is not the best but its pretty good. Although the key-making machine doesnt make good copies.
