The low rating is partially my own fault. I should have done my research on the built in GE dishwasher I bought so I didnt spend too much money on something that doesnt work well, but I relied too heavily on people I thought should be trustworthy and out to help the customer. We started off with a dishwasher installed, that leaked in our kitchen cabinet and onto our kitchen floor. We called Dick Van Dyke to come out to repair it, which they did. The bottom of our cabinet was damaged (laminante pealed off) due to the water, the technician made a note of it, but there was never a follow up call to find out what they could do. During this time, we continued to use the dishwasher, noticing that things were not coming clean. Thinking we had bought one of the upper lines, this was an extreme surprise. When we contacted Dick Van Dyke about this, we were told the newer models didnt clean like the older ones and we needed to put in special liquid cubes and jet cleaner. We adjusted from powder (which was mostly unused and still on the door after the full cleaning cycle), to liquid, to the cubes, and the same consistent problem continued to plague us . . .dishes that were dirty. We noticed there was also a squeaking noise, called Dick Van Dyke, and again, they were prompt to come out and diagnose the dish washer. They result was a bad motor. They replaced the motor with no charge and off we went, a new washer with a new motor . . . but there was no difference. We again cycled through the different types of soaps and had the same result . . . but we didnt have any squeak. We called back and I asked what the return policy was since the washer was not cleaning as a higher end washer (I felt) should and found out we were outside the return period. There was nothing they were willing to do, we were stuck with an overly expensive dishwasher that to this date, we have to prewash all the dishes before putting them in to the dishwasher. Not exactly what I would call a happy ending. I would have been happy to trade up or down to something that would have worked, but instead we are stuck with junk. I will not be able to purchase something from Dike Van Dyke in the future unless Ive done my research on the product. I cant trust that Ill get good representation from the sales person who should have steered me clear of this poorly crafted dish washer. Dike Van Dyke won and lost this one. Theyll be happy to know I wont call when my dish washer breaks under their great warranty, it is just not worth keeping this dish washer alive, but until I can afford another, itll stay in my house, reminding me of the poor business I received from a local shop I hoped we could purchase more from. Sad.

We bought our washer and dryer from this place quite awhile ago. We had a service technician come out to fix our dryer. Parts had to be ordered. A week later , I talk to the parts Dept. and schedule an appt. to put the new parts on. Now mind you, we still work , so I wanted an afternoon time. They tell me , they wont do that , and cant even put that in the notes. They tell me that, they have Wednesday , Feb, 22, 2017 , open. I say I will take that. They tell me they will call by 10:30, a.m. to finalize, appt. time. Never got a call. Again, we are at work, waiting on this call. I call them, and the girl, name started with an "M", acts as though she doesnt even know that there is an appt.scheduled. I am on hold, and at work, and had to put them on hold for a sec. , and when I switched back , I had been disconnected. I could not call back, because I was at work. An hour later, 11:30- 11:45ish, I receive a call from a technician, stating that he was on his way. I drive a commercial vehicle so cant just hop on the phone. He leaves me a message and lets me know, I am going to have to reschedule because nobody was home. I guess, they must think everybody just tells their boss that ,Dick Van Dyke Appliance World , expects me to take the day off, so they can take all day, to come to my house to repair my dryer. I will keep this in mind when we go to replace these units. Service after the sale, and word of mouth are the best advertisement. Guess that doesnt say a whole lot about this company. If you look at most of the 5 star reviews about DVD, they are mostly about installation and sales, which only touches the surface when you go through the b.s. I and others have gone through. Definitely will be shopping elsewhere when we get ready to replace these. And that time is near.

We have had a very terrible experience w DVD and their delivery, install and timeliness of repair. We built a house and ordered all appliances from DVD, top of the line kitchen suite, basement fridge and washer/dryer. They were late to deliver some of the appliances, over 2 hours past the end of the window they gave us, and then were upset on the phone when I was no longer at the house and had to re-schedule. Then, when we moved in we have had multiple service calls (going on 4+) and all of the issues ended up being b/c the installation was not done correctly. And, they give you a 4 hour window of which they will arrive and have only hit that window on half of the appointments. On the ones they miss, they dont even call to let you know they will miss, they just called when they were on their way, 2 hours after the window, and then were surprised when I said that would not work so we needed to re-schedule. Bottom line is that we paid a premium to go with DVD and their awesome warranty and they have not lived up to the expectations. I sent multiple emails about the issues I described and the manager said there is nothing they can do. Here is what she said "Our installers did install the appliances and the service team was able to fix those issues for you in a timely manner." Yes, their installers did install the appliances INCORRECTLY and I would not call it "timely" when I have had to wait around on 4 occasions for a 4 hour window and then re-schedule two of the missed appointments. I would not recommend DVD unless there is an appliance that is greatly on sale and you can save money. None of our appliances were on sale and we paid a high price and are still paying because not everything is even working properly yet.

Bought a refrigerator a year and a half ago, and have had nothing but problems since. Multiple service calls in the year and a half. In March 2017 it began improperly cooling, and I had a service call every week from March 29th to mid May trying to fix it. After 5 different parts, multiple hours of work missed, a week without a working fridge (because they put an incorrect compressor in) they insisted that I had not had enough mechanical failures to warrant getting a replaced fridge. FINALLY they agreed I was due a new fridge.. Then took multiple days brushing me off to schedule delivery.. So now here I sit at 6pm on a Friday of a holiday weekend watching them track mud on my floor (against policy to wear booties) when they were supposed to be here this morning. Absolutely dissatisfied with the customer service. UPDATE: adding photos of the mess I had to clean after they left.. only hours after my entire house had been cleaned. Also tried to ask for a trip charge that we had been completely unaware of previous to the visit. Would have asked for a refund and taken business elsewhere if I had known this outcome was going to be such a nightmare.
