I have used Dependable Maytag in Naperville for years to buy appliances, purchase repair parts and for repair service at my house. Most recent experience will be my last. Bought a repair part for a dryer. Due to lack of time, I could not install the part and called their service dept, who repaired the unit the next day. Spare part I purchased was not needed. Asked if part was returnable and technician said "yes". Got to store and was told "no problem, just need manager approval". This is when the fun started! Manager said not returnable due to it being a custom order. Reminded them the part was a stock item when I bought it, 1 of 3 they had in house just 3 days ago. Manager agreed but THEN said it was not returnable due to being an electrical part. I challenged this because the only electrical component on the item was a wire and a light bulb. Manager agreed but THEN said not returnable because it was used. I showed the manager the invoice from his own service tech showing that the part was not used, and was still in the original box. Manager agreed but THEN said he could not take returns due to the owners return policy. Pointed out that the return policy is not written anywhere in store, just appears to be made up as they go. Manager THEN said he would credit me the repair part price toward the purchase of a new dryer. At this point I walked out with my now useless part. I am horribly disappointed that what used to be a "dependable" sales and repair shop is now resorting an ambiguous return policy to make a buck on a repair part, or even worse, force me to buy a new dryer just to get my money back. I could have bought my 12 year old Maytag appliances somewhere else for less, now I wish I had. "Dependable" Maytag needs to publish a return policy and show a little respect for repeat customers instead of laughing and telling them "Good Luck" as they walk out the door in frustration. (Yes, I was really told "Good Luck" as I walked out!)

I bought a new refrigerator with bottom freezer at this store in 2012 because I thought it was better than buying at a big box store. I spent over $1,100 on this refrigerator. I expected my refrigerator to be "dependable." The freezer drain is clogged and I read many reviews about this particular Maytag model that this is a common problem. I dont call that very "dependable." I will have to call an appliance repair person to fix this - who knows how many times it will need to be fixed since I understand this is a defective part in this Maytag refrigerator. This is the last Maytag product I will ever purchase again. Im sorry I bought a Maytag Washer and Dryer from this store. Since this locally owned store offers nothing different than Home Depot or Lowes, whats the point in giving it my business? I expected a little more customer loyalty and standing behind a product that has the name on the store. Silly and naïve me. It is no wonder the big box stores are running the local stores out of business. The person who spoke to me at the store when I called told me that the store doesnt make the product; it only sells it. The only thing that will surprise me is if my Maytag appliances last more than 5 years.

Top of Double oven was acting up - would shut on/off. Service tech charged $69.95 to tell me board was bad. Ordered board / replaced for $219.99 for part and $55 in additional labor. Oven did same thing as before. Same tech replaced temperature sensor for $39.99 I asked how he knew the board was bad if the temperature sensor was the problem. Told me I was luckly the bad sensor didnt ruin the new board also. Bottom line is the sensor was the bad part which I kept - when he replaced the board he couldnt see any problem with it - but he took it with him. Use Someone else.

Yes, indeed Dependable Maytag is in the business of repair not retail or service. I have purchased many appliances from the retailer over the past decade. All of them have had to have major repair or replacement just after the warranty expires. Do not buy from theses guys . They said on the phone that is was not their fault and that they are in the business of repair not honoring a quality product to begin with because they handle so many of them. You are better off with a big box store! At least they wont charge extra to install. Jean

This company is not reputable! I purchased a washer and dryer. The model I bought died after 2 years. I called to get service and they said my service plan expired. I have a contract with them for 4 years. They said they will charge me for coming out to the house to inspect the unit and they tried to charge me another $600 to fix the unit. They wont honor their contract. This company is not dependable. Watch out for these guys.

Had a great experience buying our new kitchen appliances here. This is the second time we have bought our whole house appliances and both times we felt we had the best service from people who knew what they were talking about rather then a kid selling us something. They have a huge store with more selection then other stores my wife and i have been to.

I had a great experience with Dependable Maytag. I purchased a washer and drier from them and got a great deal. The pricing was as competitive as the big stores. I set up an appointment and they were very prompt and professional. I will be using your company again in the future. Thank you! Most of all Thank you because my wife was extremely happy.

I have used Dependable Maytag at two homes over a period of 24 years. I have even called to say I want a new dryer to match the washer I purchased from them and they delivered what I wanted without my even going there. I have been satisfied with their prices and quality. I hope they will deliver to my next home.

Would not recommend this store. The service was extremely disappointing. They would not honor a warranty issue, even after they were contacted by Whirlpool headquarters authorizing and asking them to provide service.
