Called Home Depot to have a water heater installed. I Didnt have my card so I asked if I could go into the store and pay for it. Her answer was yes, on my way home stopped at the Elgin store. Waited approx 40 minutes for them to call and find my order. They came back and said sorry they gave it to another store you need to go there. No big deal they were very nice. So, went to the other store and they couldnt find my order either. The manager there seemed like I was bothering him so he gave the issue to a very nice lady at the service desk. After another 45 minutes she was able to ring me up and get me on my way. Just a FYI its $1300 to install a 40 gal water heater. I would of done it myself but West Dundee makes you pull a permit and you need a licensed plumber to install it. Its outrageous on how much they rip you off. Hope you have someone in the family thats a plumber. To top it off, I had a saddle valve on a cold water line to my humidifier. Well that no longer code so they charged me $99 to install a 1/4 turn valve. Go somewhere else if you need a water heater installed.

Very good store for everything but flooring. Go to a different Home Depot for flooring. Most of the floor sales people do not know what they are doing and the measuring/calculation service they use appears quite cumbersome. Ordering carpet and wood flooring took 3 visits and 6 hours. We scheduled to have carpet installed on a Friday. They said between 9am & 12 noon. This for 4 bedrooms, 4 walk in closets, 2 regular closets, a hallway, a split stairway and a family room. 2,500 sq ft. It took 1/2 days on Thursday to move everything out into bathrooms and such. We got a call Friday at 12:07 saying there were truck issues and could they reschedule. No apologies. Even when it was pointed out that nobody had apologized there were no apologies. Quite frustrated with the flooring experience here.

What a great group of staff members at this store. Im doing quite a few things in and around my home. Came in one evening for plant supports , staff member saw me coming in & although he was clearly in the middle of stocking, he immediately stopped what he was doing and offered to help me. He then came up w a great solution to make something I needed that nobody sells as a finished product . I have been in & out of there maybe 15 times this week working on multiple projects; gardening, mower maint ( a nice young lady helped w that ) , painting , getting help w drill bits ( a really nice guy w hand brace from recent surgery helped me w that ) . The ladies at the checkout & return counters are always cheerful & helpful.

Really a good store and now that we moved closer to a Lowes and another Home Depot, we gave them both a try... Both did not have the great service that this Home Depot Store has in Carpentersville. Rare to find so much quality help in a store like this. So now we drive a bit out of our way to shop there, but the service is great. Mike in windows/doors and Justin (a manager there) are just two great examples of the great team there.

It was great that they built this Home Depot in this area because it was much needed. However, they do not have a lot of items in stock at this store compared to the bigger ones. I have called this one Half Depot at times due to their scarce availability of merchandise. However, for most home needs we can go to this store. Either way, I am still giving it 4 stars because the employees are friendly and the place is very clean.

Either they bombard you every ten seconds with "can I help you" or completely ignore you. No middle ground here. I also want to point out that there was an announcement asking all associates that were not with a customer to go out and make a cart run. When I walk to my truck shortly after the only two employees in the parking lot rounding up carts in the rain where two little old ladies. Thats sad!

The employees who work there are awesome..they are always someone who greets you and takes you to where you need togo and they are very helpful..best store togo to..and the best Service..people are very polite..i give you all a High 5..

We come here all the time for hardware and appliances. Unbelievable customer experience-best ever. They go out of their way to help you and make you feel like youre the most important customer. They even taught us how to tile.

Was able to find a number of items that I may use to fix a furniture issue. The good thing is that any of the items I dont use can be taken back to Home Depot for a hassle free refund.

Apparently Home Depot doesnt believe in carrying any make or model of cut-off tool. They literally had to refer me to Menards... where I found one at a good price.

Stock at this location is always very low. Save time by driving to the Algonquin or Elgin locations. Not sure why this store exists.
