We spent $1695.83 on a washer/dryer... assuming theyd be in perfect condition and would last us for some time due to the fact they were new, Whirlpool, and high efficiency. From day one, weve had nothing but a bad experience. First, upon delivery, the washer didnt want to run hot water, and the dryer wasnt blowing hot air. Somehow the washer managed to fix itself, and after having my fiance and the installation guys play around with the dryer, it started to work. Then we noticed something that looked like permanent dirt in the bottom of the washer, along the edges of it. At this point, wed only used it once. Its been 6 months, and the stuff is still there. We took pictures of it the first time we noticed it. The dryer also came without the feet the day it was delivered, so every time we used it, it moved. Then our towels started ripping because they would get caught on the plastic part that covers the lint holder. A technician came out to fix that issue, and to install the feet. Yesterday the rubber circle which goes around the window on the dryer door fell off while the dryer was in use, got tangled within our clothes, stretched itself and my shirt out, and now the dryer wont dry without saying "check vent" along with the hot air escaping. I already put in a service call, but the earliest they can come is Saturday. Its Wednesday today. I have two little kids, laundry thats piling up, and I have to wait till Saturday until I can use my dryer. NONE of this is acceptable. We did not waste almost $1700 on BRAND NEW units to have two service calls needed within 6 months of purchase. If that had been the case, I would have taken my parents 10 year old washer/dryer for free... units that have never needed any repairs during the last decade. I called the Elgin Sears Outlet store and spoke to Scott, the assistant manager, who just repeated the same thing over and over again. Hes sorry for my troubles, the service tech will come out and fix the issue (free for now, but what happens after the year is up and we have to start paying for them to come out here?), and theres nothing else he can do because we didnt purchase the extended warranty. I DONT CARE IF WE DIDNT PURCHASE THE WARRANTY. Not only did we get machines which have given us trouble from the start, but theyve also ruined some towels and a shirt. I cant comprehend how a company can sell items like this, and then just offer a bogus apology and a simple "our tech will fix it" answer, then expect the customer to go about their business.

Staff are friendly enough, but I ordered a range hood based on Sears Outlet website. There was a photograph of the hood in a box. I called to inform them that my wife was on the way to pick it up and could they have it ready since she did not know the model? When my wife drove 5 hours to pick it up and 5 hours back, they loaded it in her car without checking the receipt or confirming it was the correct item. When I saw the hood, I knew it was the wrong one since the one I ordered was a wall mount with the extension and the one I received was under the cabinet. It was not in a box and had the wrong item number on a sticker, which was easy to see. When I called, they first said I could return it to my local Sears, but then redacted and said I needed to take it to the nearest Sears Outlet (which is either directly across Lake Michigan in Wisconsin or their store in Elgin). Upon talking with the supervisor, I learned they could do nothing except refund my money, if I sent it back. They then said they would schedule a pick up on Thursday and I would receive a call with a 2 hour window. Im still sitting here waiting for a call (not working). When I called to speak to the supervisor, I heard she would not be coming in until 4:30pm eastern time and that they could not find the pick up paperwork. I was told that a person who may know was unloading a truck and he would call me back. That was 45 minutes ago. Still sitting here not working, wasting my time. I wont shop at Sears Outlet again. Would gladly have paid the extra $500 now knowing what I know. Terrible customer service.

Recently purchased a stove and when I got it home found out it didnt work. A repair man visited the house a week later and ordered all new parts. A week after the first visit the new parts arrived. The technician came back and looked at the stove and this time noticed it had been converted to LP. His recommendation was to switch the house to LP. Unable/willing to repair the stove I went to the store to ask for a new stove. The entire train wreck lasted over 3 weeks. Incompetence with this store and with Sears in general. Two stars because I finally did get a new stove.

Purchased dishwasher. Good selection and, of course, good prices. Sales were nominally helpful but I had done my research and knew what I wanted. I purchased a bottom drawer refrigerator from the Schaumburg store a month prior - closer to home. Elgin had better dishwasher selection. Kind of hard sell on extended warranty but I think all appliance places do that.

I had such a great shopping experience at this store. Ashley was such a great salesperson!! I had to replace a fridge that broke in a home I just moved into. I will definitely come back when I need more appliance and will be telling my family and friends about the great experience I had!!!
