DO NOT EVER USE DICK VAN DYKE FOR APPLIANCE REPAIR!!! My dishwasher went out and I had Dick Van Dyke come out to diagnose what the problem was, which turned out to be a heating coil out. That day, I asked if it could be fixed and was told no by my technician because the new heating coil needed to be ordered. He said it would be about 5 days. Towards the end of the week, I received a phone call stating that I needed to schedule my appointment for the replacement of the heating coil. I scheduled it, but they told me it would be a week before they could come out. The person that scheduled the appointment told me that someone would call me the morning of to schedule an actual time. I asked the woman on the phone if I could request a morning appointment because no one would be home after 3pm that day. She said that I could not request a specific time, but that she would put it in the notes and see if someone could come out earlier in the day. Wednesday (the appointment day) came around and I still had not heard from anyone at 12:30pm. So, I called Dick Van Dyke on my lunch break to see what was going on and if someone was coming to fix my dishwasher. When I called, they said that someone would be there between 2-5pm that day. I asked if I could request to have a 2pm because, again, no one would be there after 3pm. Again, I was told they couldnt schedule actual appointment times because the route was already made. Frustrated, I hung up and waited for the technician to call me, hoping it would be around 2pm. At 2:45pm, the technician called and asked if it was ok to head over to my house. I told him not to even bother and waste his time because no one would be there. He said it would take 10-15 minutes to drive there and 20-30 minutes to fix it. I said not to come because there would be no point. He said that the scheduling people told him that no one would be home UNTIL 3pm, otherwise he wouldve come that morning. I told him the message was obviously passed wrong because I had told them that no one would be home after 3pm. I called that night when I got off of work only to hear the voicemail for Dick Van Dyke because the service part closed at 5pm. I left a voicemail stating that I would be expecting their call right when they opened up or they would be hearing from me. At 9:00am, when I still had not heard from them, I called to tell them that they needed to fix their mistake and that someone needed to come out today (Thursday). I was told that only 1 technician could do it because he had the part on his truck. I asked if he could give it to someone else to come over and fix or if they could tell him he needed to work 20 extra minutes in his route, and I was told neither of those options were available. The woman on the phone said that I would need to call the parts department back because she could not get a hold of someone. I called and called for 20 minutes with no answer. Finally, I had to go back to work, and they called while I was at work and not able to pick up the phone and left a voicemail. The woman who left me 4 voicemails (playing phone tag back and forth) did not know what she was talking about and kept giving me wrong numbers on the voicemail and tell me that she did not know the callback number. They said the next available appointment he had was the following week. Needless to say, Im very frustrated that Dick Van Dyke messed up and are not fixing it. They have had terrible customer service, and I do NOT feel as though they are going out of their way to fix the mistake they made!!!!!! I am very unhappy, and they have left a salty taste in my mouth. I will never do business with them again!

The most recent experience with the Dick Van Dyke Appliance store in Bloomington Il has been awful. I picked out the stove and microwave. The salesman confirmed the order and my husband would pick up next day. We wouldve had them delivered but then we would have to wait ~ 1 week. I came in the next day to pay for the order and complete the transaction but learned that the manager disagreed with buying the microwave floor model as then he would have to wait 2 days for more to come in. The manager wanted us to wait 2 days for the microwave to come in. The entire transaction was ~$1808. I walked out of the store just because the manager would not sell the microwave that the salesman had promised the evening before. I then went to Best Buy, bought the microwave ~$80 cheaper, the newer stove for the same price as the old floor model I was getting, the extended warranty and they are delivering and hook up the stove for free in 3 days. My husband is installing the microwave tonight. Total transaction ~$1600. Dick Van Dyke lost a $1800 transaction all just because the MANAGER didnt sell the floor model that the salesman promised. The manager was NOT THE CUSTOMER. I feel for the salesman who reports to the manager of the Bloomington, IL store.

I had a technician come out and was told that a part needed replaced. I wanted to think about it and called two weeks later and all the lines were busy so I left a voice message. A couple of days went by and no call so I called back. I was told that they had no record of my service call so they transferred me to another dept. They found my information and told me that the other dept should have it and I said they didnt and that is why Im talking to you. She would not call the other dept and told me the other dept would help me. Ok really,,,,I dont have time to play who wants to figure out what is going on and take care of me. I went with somebody LOCAL in town to help me. These out of town corporations are all the same. They act like they have the best products and service but in reality they just have the biggest advertising budget.

We recently purchased a brand new washer and dryer from Dick Van Dyke (DVD) and paid over $2,000. Initially, we were extremely happy. However, as soon as we dealt with their service department we were beyond disappointed. We needed a dryer vent re-routed to a different location and were told that there would be a $35 service fee plus minimal labor. We also asked them to “flip flop” the washer and dryer since they were initially installed on the wrong sides. The service rep shows up and the manager told him to charge us almost $200 for 15 min of work. We declined and DVD would not budge on the $35 fee. This company did not care to do the right thing and has no moral compass whatsoever. I would recommend shopping elsewhere for all of your appliance needs.

We are so disappointed with Dick Van Dyke Appliance World. They make huge promises and little delivery. They promised us an installed dishwasher from a qualified installer who would have "everything he needed to get the job done." What we got was a dishwasher dumped in our kitchen and an installer who said he couldnt do the job. We were promised that the installer would be "prepared for anything." What we got was an installer who said that our salesperson should have told him we had stairs, should have told him we had plastic piping instead of copper and that the salesperson should have told us that their installers dont work with plastic pipe. We now have a sales person saying, you must have misunderstood and a dishwasher that my husband gets to install.
