Absolutely horrendous customer service and support! Just pathetic---hard to express my utter disappointment. My first experience ever with a gun shop/etc. Went in with wife (who has a FOID card) and myself (I do NOT have a FOID) card. The employees showed and amazing ability to NOT want to help and attentively explain anything. With MUCH hesitation and being a bit scared overall---and having reluctance about dealing with them---we still purchased a handgun. I know---very stupid on our part to make any purchase under these conditions. Anyway...due to my extreme uncertainly, I asked about having any amount of time to back out of deal and also about "returns" on the gun being that it was "used". The woman said we had the same 72 hours that we had to wait to take possession of the handgun to back out of the deal. And, after that, there were no returns---but within the first 30 days they would "fix" the gun of any issues because it was used. About 36 hours after purchase we decided it was not for us. So, I called the store and explained we would not be picking up the gun. They, VERY rudely, said that they would be charging me $72 for doing so. It went back and forth from there. Anyway, the credit card company is involved now and we will not be paying a thing. My overall point is this...we went into the store quite excited about becoming gun owners and the employees at JR SHOOTING SPORTS managed to squash that excitement within minutes and now lose our business (as well as all we know) FOREVER! Good riddance and best of luck to any whom enter the store---RUN ELSEWHERE! Well, we just found out we lost our credit card dispute because the manager at JR shooting sports completely lied to Bank of America. I now have the bank refunding most of my monies though. JR Shooting sports is actually keeping my money and NOT allowing me to pick up any merchandise!!!! They stated that because we did not pick up the merchandise within 30 days, "too bad...we are done with you". I reminded them that we have been in dispute since February 26th (I believe it was) and wasnt until yesterday (June 6th) that I found out that basically we had lost our dispute so I would like to pick up my merchandise. They told me "too bad"...seriously!!!! How in the heck is that legal? Anyway, it is simply flabbergasting that that small amount of money ($320 total) is worth to a company to treat anybody this way. I have cost them sooo much money already. We have persuaded MANY potential buyers to go elsewhere and I will continue to do so as long as I live in this area! JR Shooting Sports has the worst customer service and support and disgusting business practices. Oh yeah, like I stated above, I do NOT have a FOID card and they allowed me to purchase the handgun with MY credit card for my wife (who has a FOID card)...I do not think that is legal....I am not positive though. But, I will be contacting the ATF to ask them and HOPEFULLY be reporting JR Shooting Sports to them!

I will not be returning to JR with my business again. At the request of the owner, I have removed my original review. He was upset and confronted me about it because he claimed I was telling "lies" about his business. He told me to "just tell the truth" and Id be fine. So, heres the truth: The first, older man that I dealt with tonight was actually pretty pleasant and helpful, and the other woman that usually answers the phone during the day is pretty nice as well. His teenage daughter that works with him has an attitude that rivals his own. After I thanked her for actually being helpful in assisting me with contacting Benelli directly to try to get some more definitive answers, she was overall very rude in person. If I ever spoke to a customer the way that she did, Id be unemployed. I felt that the one time I stopped in and several times that I called to inquire on my order that I was more of an inconvenience to them and that they didnt really want to deal with me. I got an excuse of "we dont know, well check on it" every time. No one ever offered to call Benelli while I was there or give me any reason to believe they actually cared about the situation. I canceled my order, and will not return there with my business. I can understand being upset with people for canceling an order because thats your livelihood walking out the door, and now youve got a product coming in that you have to try to sell. But hey, you still got $65 of my money, I still have no firearm. I would have been much, much happier if they would have just provided better customer service. Apparently expecting a phone call and occasional updates when the item youre ordering is on back-order from Benelli with no real ETA is wrong. But Ill tell you, by the time I walked out of there after dealing with the attitudes from both the owner and his daughter... I look at the $65 that I lost as a small price to pay to not have to ever set foot in that place again.

I normally dont take the time to review anything, but thought Id better add my experience with JRs. I have been frequenting here for almost every week for several years as a purchasing customer and a range user. I have never had any problems with either the range officer or the sales staff. Some of the complaints kind of make me laugh because I have seen none of it, despite frequent visits there. I think that, between myself, my dad, and my son, we have probably worked with each of the sale staff at one time or another and each is knowledgeable in the products they are selling and have been helpful with answering my questions. I try to do my research before going into JRs, but NOT because they are not helpful, but because I want to know at least a baseline of info before I go in. I saw several posts on only allowing American made ammo in the range. Having shot a lot of different ammo, I wouldnt let Russian and Czech stuff in my place either. They stink and are dirty rounds. Thats why they are cheap. As for the expensive ammo for unlimited shooting, do you really expect to get internet prices when you go to a range? My experience at JRs has been consistently good. I hope that more of the people I see there weekly will take some time to write their experience. As for me, I will continue to go there until there is reason to leave.

here is an add on to: brought in a AR for a re-assembly $65!!! told me it would be 2-3 days and a week later i called to check the status on this and the lady refused to go and check... if you can go anywhere else i would recomended going there first and jrs last resort went to pick it up 2 1/2 weeks later, there was a note on the weapon saying see taylor well after a 15 min wait before she came down, she expressed how mad she was that i wrote the 1st bad review. after we went back and forth for a bit they hand me the gun im about out of there and she said where are you going, me "huh" you still owe me money she said. i asked why she said the 65 is just a deposit. well thats not what i was told, i was told that it was 65 for a reassemble and 2-3 days, after a phone call to whom im assuming was a mangager knocked off 20 bucks for a test fire which by the way never asked for or was told they would do, after i paid i let them know i mangage my own business and clear and concise commication is key in everything we do and that they lost anymore of my business and most liking my friends and families as well. oh but they did clean the gun after firing to my surprise again any where else i have been to is a Way better experience!!!
