This store is awesome! Paul helped my entire family gear up this year, skis, poles, boots, bindings, etc. The entire pro-shop staff is extremely well versed in the product lines that they offer, the stock that they have in hand and in the Chicago store, local skiing areas and their conditions, and the types of skiing that the customer does. This is not a walk in and buy what you think you want kind of big box store, they really take the time to get to know you, the type of skier that you are, where you ski etc. in order to help find you the best possible fit and performance to make sure that you are happy. They will not try to up sell you, and their sales staff does not work on commissions. The folks that work in the apparel side of the business are awesome as well, they also know the product inside and out and take the time to make sure that what you have is what you need, and that it will work for you. Could you save a couple of bucks by buying online? Maybe, however the time that it will take you in research, as well as the time and money to return things that do not fit/ work etc. is offset by the experience that you will have working with such passionate professionals. In my opinion go see the pros at Viking, you will not be dissapointed!

I have so many great things to say about viking ski from their product knowledge to customer service. Their snowboard department was absolute on point with helping me find exactly what I was looking for. I got a great pair of boots and 2 amazing boards at a great price. As for customer service goes they were always available to answer all my questions and point me in the right direction. I had an issue with a binding that I didnt even purchase there and they were able to help me out because I was in a time crunch. Great ski and snowboard shop. I highly recommend this shop

Usually you find these type of shops in major snow country, what a awesome find here in the MW. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable on everything from the latest and greatest ski clothing and gear - I needed it all! Boot fittings were perfect, and I am looking forward to picking up my new Blizzard Brahma skis today too! If your going skiing and need to talk to somebody knowledgeable and also have some selection - this is the spot for you! Enjoy!

We purchased a Tropitone fire table and chairs several years ago. The paint on one of the chairs was defective and they replaced it. This year, we had a problem with the door on the table. They came, filed a claim on our behalf and replaced it. Good shop, great staff! There are precious few high quality ski shops in the area; take advantage of this one. I bought a pair of boots (Dalbello Boss) and had them fitted there. friendly and helpful throughout. Prices were quite good and matched almost anything I could find online when you consider that you get a professional fitting included in the price of the boot. I will definitely be back for any ski equipment needs.

Very experienced staff. We usually rent skis for the season. On one late season trip the store manager even managed to get us free accommodation and discounted lift tickets from a sales promotion they were running where they had some extras left, definitely a one off but saved us a lot of money. If you are buying a lot, cant do any harm to ask for a discount.

Steve and Craig have taken care of me time after time, year after year. The prices are fair and their knowledge has been priceless. I have listened to Craig numerous times helping with my buying decisions and am happy still to the day. There is always something good to be said about a small hands on shop than just looking at a picture on the internet.

Went and saw an awesome dude name Craig! My wife ended up getting a new pair of boot and Craig helped me finish off my board with a new set of bindings! They have a large selection of intermediate gear and a decent stock of high-end gear. However, they say that items are discounted by 20%, but theyre the same as MSRP... Im not sure if I was misquoted on the price, but double check before you make a purchase.

Very nice full service ski shop. Popular and can be busy during peek hours - much faster off hours. Staff are knowledgeable and they have a broad product selection. Good options for younger skiers and nice ski rental program.
