Do not buy a gun safe from this store!!! I purchased a 600 dollar Cannon gun safe from this store on Monday June 19th, 2017. When I had moved the safe home and removed the box, the safe looked like it had been smashed with a sledgehammer or dropped from a forklift. Im not a petty individual and if it would have been some small imperfections I wouldnt have thought anything about it. I called the shift manager Zach Barber to see what could be done and he said all he could do was exchange the safe. Keep in mind that this safe is anywhere from 350 lbs. to 500 lbs. so its not that easy to move even with a few grown men. I managed to get the safe back out of my house onto the trailer and called Mr. Barber back to get me another safe ready, not one time did he say he was sorry about the trouble or anything of that nature, but he did make a comment as to why I didnt check the safe before I left the store. Needless to say that was the point where I wanted my money back and was no longer interested in doing any more business with this unprofessional shift manager. On top of all that, the new safe he said he would exchange if I brought it back was actually the display. After 2 hours of arguing on the phone after several phone calls, he finally decided to give me a gift card from Academy for my gas. The only person who apologized for this disastrous experience was a young girl behind the customer service counter. Be careful what you buy from this store, because obviously they dont rely on good customer service only volume of sales. Trust me, I found that out first hand. Dont let the same mistake happen to you!

The ad says that if its a sport, they have something for it, but I found nothing for swimming or snorkeling etc other than bathing suits. I did see some things online, but thats not helpful if Im wanting it while in the store. They will beat a competitors price by 5%...but only if they are in Tn. So once again, the things that are online, not in store, dont count I bet. Other than that they are ok. Pretty large selection, clean store. Not one single employee asked me if I needed help or found what I was looking for even tho my friend and I wandered around the entire store and then walked out. Seems like there are a lot of younger people working there.

Great experience looking for shoes. I wear a 15 or 16 mens, and they helped me look for and actually find my shoe size in shoes I liked. Which is amazing considering this was the 4th place Id been today looking and only one other even had one of my size. They have a great return policy and the shoe manager, whose name I cant remember unfortunately, was an absolute pleasure to do business with. Great guy.

A good solid sporting goods store with generally good prices. The help is a mix of high school kids, and retail veterans, helpful but not always knowledgeable. Store is new so its very clean and in good shape. Generally has the best selection of all thing sports and outdoors in town.

Shirley in customer service was more than glad to open up another register and even call for another cashier when she saw the line getting long. She is very helpful. Academy is the best, and most competitive priced sporting goods store in the area, hands down.

First time visit - this is a awesome place to shop for workout gear and clothing, a large outdoor selection of camping related goods, hunting and fishing and firearms. Will definitely revisit when I have more time to spend!
