Took my 81 CB750 to J&R when I first bought it in Aug 09 to have carbs cleaned and charging system checked. Robert was very friendly and helpful, but when I picked it up about 4-5 weeks later he said he cleaned and adjusted the carbs and installed a used rotor to fix the charging system problem. Well, the rotor died within a week and after I replaced the rotor with a new one myself, it has the carbs have been very erratic and unreliable. so, here it is nearly a year later with not much riding time on the bike because it only runs when it wants to, I am cleaning the carbs myself. Heres what ive found. The carbs are loaded with crud, the pilot screws are missing their O-rings, the choke cable was not properly attached on the carb end, so it was nonfunctional, the #1 insulator (rubber boot to the cylinder) was very cracked and rigged with silicone sealer, and I paid over $400.00. Im not very impressed with the quality of work on my bike, your results may vary!

9-22-2008 First of all, I want to say that I have no idea of the quality of their service deptartment because I never go the chance to find out. I tried to post without selecting a rating but it would not let me, I called J&R Cycles to see if they would work on my bike, but because it was being paid for by my insurance, they passed on it. So, if you have been in a wreck and are trying to find a shop that can work on your bike, J&R is not the place to go if your insurance is paying for the repair. Too bad because the last time I had to have work done on my Chief, GEICO gave me a check in advance and told me if that was not enough, let them know and they would cut another check ... and they did. GEICO was GREAT to work with. 9-11-2008 Update: I went to Extreme Cycles in Dallas, they gave Geico a quote and Geico cut a check. No problem!

I bought a used (3rd or 4th owner) 82 Honda V45 Sabre and the sellor told me J&R "knew" this bike intimately. I was having trouble starting the thing after I got it home and my work schedule was such as I couldnt get it to them. They came and picked it up, rebuilt the carbs, installed new turn signal stems, changed the oil, checked the heads and cams, tuned her up and I was back on the road for about $400 (plus/minus). I have some other issues I want to straighten out (horn, headlight relay, new rear tire) and J&R are the only ones Ill give my business even though theres a Honda dealership less than a mile from where I live. I highly recommend this shop and the work they do is top notch.

Bought an old Honda that looked great from this pushy guy. Probably shouldnt have, but I wanted it sooo bad. Dude gave me a list of stuff he worked and replaced and the thing looked and ran great. Rode it 20 miles back to work on the interstate only to find out its dumped about 1/2 quart of oil out of the split case. Both fork seals were leaking, started burning oil, floats in the carbs had holes, badly worn cams, the list goes on and on. Luckily I can work on them so this winter I did a major overhaul, plus another engine from a REPUTABLE honda guy - hopefully I finally have what I paid for in the first place. Crook - stay away.

I have tried several shops in the local area, trying to find one that would do a good job on my old Honda. I have been ripped off by all, including a Honda dealer. Finally I have found a shop where the owner does great work at a fair price. My old Honda now runs like it should, and best of all, the prices are very fair. It would barely run, and now it is in perfect order. Starts on the first kick every time. I am extremely happy with J&R, and will take my bike no where else. The owner is a good guy, and frankly, I have trouble believing the negative posts.

The owner is very friendly, the service sucks. I initially really liked this shop cause of its work with older Honda models like mine. But i feel like they take advantage of me because i am a girl. That may be a harsh claim but let me explain. I have been using them for three years. A few months ago i got an oil change and i drove it only to fine there was NO oil in my bike at all. Next oil change i got took four days and cost me $106 for the oil change and a $1.25 blinker bulb. I dont believe this is a fair price at all. Would not suggest this place to anyone.

Robert is AWESOME!!!!!! He always does extra work other than what was agreed upon, little things like adjusting the clutch, chains, amongst other things at no cost, as long as it is minor work. Something that other shops would always charge much more. Several times I brought my bike back to his shop for a few minor adjustments, ie. points, and plugs, and he did the work at no extra charge. I would highly recommend you taking your bike to his shop as you will be well taken cared.

Robert and the crew at J & R Cycle Shop are top notch and honest! Robert walked me through trouble shooting while I was trying to fix it myself on my DR350S. When I finally gave up, Robert worked to get my bike running like new at a price I could afford. They went above and beyond doing even more work than I paid for to make sure my bike was 100%! A customer for life here on my current and future bikes! Thanks guys!

Yep, agree with all the good reviews. Taken my 2005 Suzuki C50 Boulevard over there twice so far, and always got a fair deal for the service. The second time, according to the manual, it needed a valve adjustment, but Robert suggested waiting until the next service. Saved me a couple of hundred and the bike has been fine. Coming up on the mileage for another service and definitely know where Im taking it again.

My friends and I have used Robert for years. I have a really hard time believing the post from Kinda Trashy about purchasing a bad bike. If he indeed knows so much about working on motorcycles wouldnt he have noticed these problems? Robert does great work and has great prices. This is a true Mom and Pop motorcycle shop and I highly recommend them.

This shop came highly recommended by Dirty Bird Customs in Atl. Robert is really nice and honest. I have only done a small amount of business with him but I can already tell that he is a good guy and very knowledgeable. I am definitely going to be going back to them even though he is an hour away. Keep up the good work guys!
