I got my pup from Petland and overall had a pretty positive experience. I had been looking into buying from breeders, but honesty, for the breed I wanted, all the breeders were charging the same price as Petland, BUT their waitlists were about a year, and Petland throws in a bunch of the essentials you need for your dog when you buy. (And they gave my dog a bath before I took her home. She smelled uh-mazing.) Plus, all the Petland dogs come from breeders that the staff visits (not sure how frequently) to make sure the conditions are humane/not mills. I went in there quite a bit to play with puppies to make sure I was (eventually) choosing the right one, and the staff was so great about never pressuring me to buy. (And the dogs there sell FAST. It was pretty much a completely new set of dogs if I went in two weekends in a row.) My dog is one of the most cheerful dogs youll ever meet, and I honestly think thats partially due to the fact that she was exposed to a lot of different people during her time at Petland. The staff was completely transparent about any medical issues and told me that as long as I visit their preferred vet, theyd cover any bills associated with the issues--which they did. (She had an umbilical hernia--which didnt have any effects on her health at all, just had something to do with her birth--and she also had an upper respiratory infection, which she recovered from after a week or two.) Their vet also comes into the store to examine the puppies. You can tell the staff really loves the animals, and they were AMAZING about giving me a crash course in what I needed to do to take care of my dog. Sometimes Ill bring my dog back in there to get some toys, and they love seeing her. The only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I do agree with the other reviews saying that the cages can be cleaner, although I think the staff they have on hand does what they can--those cages could be A LOT worse, and if you call it out to an employee, theyll go in and clean it. I think the only way the cages can be 100% clean all the time was if there was an employee completely allocated to just walking back and forth to monitor. It only takes about 5 seconds for a puppy to drop a deuce, so its easy to check on a dog and then notice 5 or 10 minutes later that their cage is suddenly messy. **NOTE** For full transparency, I also posted this review on Yelp. I had such a great experience with Petland and most reviews Ive seen arent very detailed, so I just wanted to share my experience here as well.

Let me first say that all the young ladies working the floor today were phenomenal and gave extremely excellent customer service; however, the boy that was working there 4/28/2017 around 7PM was rude and disrespectful. My niece was holding a dog in her hand, and instead of him coming to the booth to let her know that she was not holding the dog properly he yelled at her from across the room. My niece put the dog down and called him over to let him know how displeased she was with him yelling at her from across the room. He would not even apologize for his behavior; he just stood there with a smug look on his face. There was no manager available to handle this situation. I guess when the managers away staff members can behave with disrespect. My niece had to call the store back to talk to the manager before the store closed. The boy answered the phone and would not put the manager on the phone. She had to ask him twice. The Manager got on the phone and no one had talked to him about the situation. When she explained to him what happened and tried to justify the boys actions. He was not helpful with the situation and tried to talk over her and myself when I spoke with him on the phone. Their customer service is awful and as the saying goes the staff reflects the manager. I am happy to say that the young ladies have not taking on the terrible customer service. I asked for the corporate office, but the store manager said that he told his staff to look it up on the internet… what manager does not know the corporate phone number. Don’t worry I found it. It is sad that my niece waited all day to see this dog and we were there for over an hour and was treated with such disrespect by this young man. It makes me wonder if we should buy dogs at all in this manner. Just to free them from puppy mill hell would make me feel much better. There were two dogs fighting over food like they have not been feed in days and one of these same dogs defecated and was eating its own poop! All I wanted to do was save one of these over-priced dogs. You need to feed these dogs and clean the cages. Stop overcrowding and letting dogs eat and lay in there filth! WHILE YOUR AT IT TRAIN YOUR STAFF AND WORK ON YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

My experience buying a pet at this place went wrong. We got a papillon that Im so afraid of cause I dont know if it is going to look like a pure papillon or other breed. The seller lied to us about everything. We had 3 main concerns when buying a dog. 1. Shedding: we already have a dog that sheds so it is very important for us to get an adorable dog that doesnt shed. She told us "they dont shed. IF THEY DO its not going to be even noticeable." - FALSE. They shed a lot. So now I have two dogs at home that shed like crazy and she is not coming to my house to vacuum and clean up. 2.size/weight: since we live in an apartment and we already have a dog we can not get a medium dog it has to be small very small. She told us "oh no worries they grow between 7 to 10 pounds max." - FALSE. Zoey the Papillon we got is not even 4 months old and she is already 8 pounds. 3.payment plan: the price is already crazy for a pet. But well you love animals so you can make it work. Specially when she told us: "you wont get interest after the first 6 months and it will not be accrued at the end of the 6 months" - FALSE. Now our monthly budget its not how it supposed to be and we will need to make massive payments by October just to avoid the accrued interest. Of course we are in love with our Zoey. She is part of the family now and it is an adorable pet that of course we are not going to return. But otherwise I would go and ask for the refund of my money long time ago. Its not the fact of how wrong the info was delivered its the fact of lying over a pet just to make a sale. Do not buy from petland.

This store is the worst. THE CONDITION OF THE PETS ARE HORRIBLE. THE PUPPIES LOOK SICK AND SO DO THE FISH. They have a host of unprofessional employees. I looked around for someone to help me with a surprisingly healthy puppy. I found someone and asked her why there were no prices visible for the puppies. She advised that the prices varied. So I asked about one in particular and she said, Its very expensive.....I waited, and she just looked. So I asked again, and she said, its really expensive, its about $400.00. I have shoes that cost $400.00, but I just looked at another and asked the same, and she replied, that one is even more expensive, its $4000.00. I was very perturbed, so I went to the back to look at fish for my daughter. A different young lady pointed me in the direction of, her words, "the $9.99" fish. Again, I was taken aback. I asked for clarification, and she repeated the same thing, the fish on the LEFT are $9.99. I then walked to see the fish on the right, and asked her why did she not tell me about those, and she said, because most people dont want those; they want the cheap ones. I wouldnt spend a DIME in this store. In fact, my four-year-old complained about the smell and the feces in the cages!!! Thanks, but no thanks!!!! Just fyi, I was dressed appropriately and there was no reason for this!!!
