I placed an order of almost $1,200 online that required a call to set up the appointment. Someone left a message that I call back and speak with them specifically. Every time I tried to call after that and ask for that person, I was told that he was not available. Anyone who answered the phone was desperate to take over the sale even though they knew nothing about it, Im assuming for the commission, but they didnt want to take a message for anyone else. It took almost a week just to get the tires ordered and when I asked when I could come in to have them installed, they said they wouldnt know, a few days at the earliest. The next morning they called me and said the tires had just come in and if I got there immediately they could get me in and out quickly. After adjusting my schedule, I go over there for what I was told would be a very short installation process. Two hours later, they finally finish (they made sure to collect payment before that) and I had to rush out just to salvage my day. Later on, I noticed they put not one, not two, but three of my tires on backwards and they didnt dynamically balance them like I asked them to. They also damaged one of my seats and one of the used tires that I kept as a full size spare. I had to go back on another day and get them to fix the mismounted tires, another hour wasted. An assistant manager tried to call me several times after I did their email review to try and discuss why I was unhappy, but again, they made sure to call whenever I was busy. Every time I would try to call back he wasnt available. I left several messages with whoever picked up the phone, but ultimately he emailed me saying that he has not heard back from me. This crystallizes my entire experience with the store in that I always had to work around their schedule and make sure that I was accommodating them, almost as if I was the one providing a service. I thought going with Discount Tire would be a good option because the tires were a little cheaper than the competition but I guess you get what you pay for. When you go in make sure that you put aside an entire day to work around their schedule (and half of a day for fixing their mistakes) because theyre not looking to work around yours.

My first experience with Discount Tire was 2/9/2011 when one of my tires went flat overnight. I brought my car to the tire shop at one of those warehouse clubs, but because the shop didn’t do repairs/patches, they referred me to Discount Tire since Discount was known to do it for free. Sure enough, they did. The only thing the Service Coordinator said was, “we just ask that you consider us next time for your tire needs.” I don’t remember much else from that first time, but I remember all the employees being really friendly. I also remember walking out of there with an invoice amount of $.00 thinking I had somehow just beat the system. Three months later, my front tires are nearing end of life and need replacing. I decide to honor the Coordinator’s wishes and consider Discount in my tire search. As with almost anything I buy, I spent a lot of time reading reviews and comparing prices (not exactly fun when it comes to tires). After comparing Discount with sites that sell tires online, warehouse clubs with tire centers and other tire shops, what do you know...Discount’s prices were fair, and the reviews for this location were already very good. Made the appointment, brought it to the shop, tires were done within the hour. Same friendly, efficient service. Fast forward to July 2012...I can feel my rear tires hydroplaning a bit with heavy rain. Combine that with all the summer thunderstorms we’ve had in the past week or two, and I definitely need new tires. Same process...read, research, read, research...Discount Tire wins again. Again, friendly, non-pushy staff (have I mentioned they have friendly staff?). Fresh new tires on and done at right about an hour, despite the shop getting super busy on a Friday afternoon. Very well run shop. They do tires, and they do it well. Waiting room is comfortable enough. It’s not like they’re rebuilding your engine and you’re going to sit there for 12 hours. Free water and coffee is nice, but if the room had Wi-Fi, it’d be even better (I know...first world problem). In the end, it looks as though Discount Tire ended up getting my money. Well played, Discount Tire. Well played.

I first want to let the store manager know that they really need to hire back Kevin Ket. He knows more about tires than anyone I have ever met, and still tells EVERYONE to go to discount. I can say that my entire group of car guys go exclusively to discount just because of how hard Kevin sells your store, service, and prices. There were probably about 4-5 sets sold at various locations just because of him this weekend alone. That being said, I was all set to buy my new set of BFG sport comps from Tire Rack, like I have the last 4 sets of tires when Kevin told me to check discount. Sure enough, they were a dollar a piece less at Discount and there was no shipping charge. Saving money FTW! I ordered my tires, and scheduled my appointment for this weekend, because Kevin had told me about some Memorial Day savings, turns out I saved another $135, which is awesome! When I got to the store, I let Ryne know that I didnt want to pay for the TPMS rebuild kit. I had never needed one before, didnt see the value in it, and hate spending money on things I dont think I need. The manager who is also named Sam like myself, came over and explained the benefits. I still wasnt sold so he said he believed in the TPMS rebuild kit so heavily, they were going to include it at no charge for me. Talk about service! I was out of there in less than an hour, with the new tires I wanted. They looked new and clean, and everyone was very friendly at the store. I would send anyone I know to Discount for tires as really, there is no better place to go in terms of price, quality of work, and customer service. Also, hire Kevin Ket again. He claims he was a top performer and I believe it. You are missing a valuable asset, and probably a lot of business. He believes in your brand, and knows EVERYTHING; more so than any one person I have met in my entire life. There were closer stores, but myself and many others choose this location just because of Kevin. I hope to see his smiling face next time I come in.

I have been a loyal customer of Discount Tire in Chamblee for almost 9 years. I have sent all my friends there and bought multiple sets of tires there for multiple cars. I will no longer be using them. I have never felt so patronized and talked to so condescendingly in my life. I purchased a set of tires less than 2 years ago. At them time no one told me I had to come in and get them rotated in order for my warranty to remain intact. I live 3 minutes away and the rotation is free. Why would I not do it? The front two tires were worn down to the cords and I was within my mileage limit, but the tires were not covered because I had not rotated them. I told the man, that no one told me and he proceeded to talk to me as if I were a child and explained that is something "I should have known." Then he just let me walk out knowing that driving on my tires in their condition was a risk. This is a far cry from what this place use to be. I remember I came in one time with a worn tire and was going to shop around to find a better price and the sales person said, "Look I cant in good conscience let you drive with your tire like that. I will discount the replacement heavily if it means you not drive out with a bad tire." The people here are nice, but you will always be just another person despite years of loyalty. It means nothing to them. It means so little that they will make you feel like an idiot and force you to walk out. Stay away... Stay away. I promise you will be able to find a better place. I know I will start the search even after giving almost a decade to this place.
