This was the best grocery store experience I have every had. And I shop at grocery stores all over the country. From the time I walked into the store every employee that passed by me said hello. Many of them asked if they could help me find something. It wasnt just me, I noticed they said hello to everyone. This is a sign of great customer service and happy employees. The Glenwood store is massive. It has everything that you want in a grocery store. And the wine bar is a nice extra! There are many options for all natural and organic foods, which is important to me. I came to Atlanta to prepare a special birthday dinner for my friend who lives here locally. I come to Atlanta often and frequent several of the grocery stores. This time I wanted to find a really good meat department. When I did my research this Kroger showed up at the top of the list. I called ahead then met with the Meat Manager Antonio. He was polite, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I enjoyed meeting his assistant Sharnette. I noticed the great customer care she gave the customers that came to the meat department. She was delightful and full of pride for her store. I was at the store 3 days in a row getting ready for the dinner party. I met several wonderful employees that helped me find the items I needed. The ones who took special care of me were Antonio and Sharnette in the meat department, Chef Beverly in the cheese department, (she is so knowledgeable and you can tell she loves her job and the people she works with) Dorothy in customer service, Loretta in the flower department and Pat who helped me find frozen white corn when I swore I looked everywhere. This is a beautiful example of great management. Someone at Kroger knows how to train their employees. And most of all, there is a social environment the breeds job satisfaction and happiness among the people who work there. No situation is ever perfect however, at the end of the day, I want to shop where the people want to go to work. Where the people are happy and fulfilled in their jobs. Where they are treated with respect and that translates into great customer care.

Im not liking this new Kroger because it has a chilling similarity to Walmart stores given its enormous size and vast variety in products. Im not use to my Kroger having a kitchen and bathroom section of its own and dont understand the point when its suppose to be a grocery store. I like the smaller Kroger stores better because they have more of a community friendly feel to them in that theyre not trying to compete with local stores like Tuesday Morning and Richards Variety and it is not exhausting to walk from the produce section to the pharmacy. As people within the community we need to stop supporting large companies that are looking to create monopolies that close local businesses, have total control on competition and consumerism. Nonetheless, the great thing about this Kroger is the gas station that is located right off of I-20 and right now prices are down.

Some revisions need to be made. Produce is constantly low on inventory (eg have only found fresh pico once of the last 4 visits), single beer cans are constantly out of stock and in wrong location (eg Jai Alai IPA), and Im currently typing this as I wait 10+ minutes on a price check. And the bar - not sure why prices are as much as other bars, when were at a grocery? Oh, and the design looks like a Walmart from 2002. Update: Took over 35 minutes to check out as my card wasnt accepted at the self pay and we took -0 minutes to try and figure that out, being repeatedly told my card was a problem. Voided everything and went to a non-self pay and same card worked. Update (7/25): Vastly improved! Everything in stock, checkout quick, everyone friendly. Updated from 2 to 5 stars. Thanks!

While the atmosphere is nice as far as the variety of food to go options like a pizza bar, BBQ, and Starbucks, I feel that the grocery store lacks in keeping items in stock. All the bells and whistles are "cute" but my shopping experience has been sub-par on several occations because things are not in stock. Its also hard to navigate because relative items are scattered around on different aisles. For example, hot cereal is on a different aisle than cold cereal, and all the organics food are blended in with non organic foods. I spent 2 hours in the grocery store and it would have took me half the time had I gone to the Kroger on Moreland. Everything is always in stock and its organized correctly. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but its reliable.

This is one of the best Krogers that I have been to but sometimes these employees name Tony spell Toney who is working the self checkout has the worst customer service ever usually I take a picture of that employees are people who deal with bad customer service Kroger you need to do a better job of vetting your employees if they do not have good customer service they need to be on stock sweeping the floors or outside organized the pushcart these employees with bad customer service should not deal with customers at all it makes you not want to spend your money with their services and you cannot let One Bad Apple spoil you your experience of service thats why the best thing they ever did is allow you to leave a review for horrible customer service

I live in Lithonia, but I work downtown so everyday on my way home I see this Kroger off the highway. Today I decided to stop in because I just didnt want to deal with the traffic of I-20 trying to get to the Wesley Chapel Kroger and man Im so glad I did! This is absolutely the best Kroger I have ever been to before in my life! It was extremely clean, the music was great and I found everything I was looking for and much more. Im single and work all the time and walking in this Kroger made me wish I had a wife that I was in love with and we were out grocery shopping lol. I know the importance of shopping in your community, but I might have to dip out bi-weekly when I have to shop after payday

I shop here because it is close to home. Thats it. They always run out of produce and what they have looks like it has been picked through by all of East ATL. The cart boys never bring the carts in. The meat section only provides your most common cuts. This could be a flagship Kroger, seeing as how the location is prime and they are always busy AF. But instead, they allow it to be mediocre. I cant count the number of times they have been out of cilantro. Not to mention they dont carry fresh mint. I dont like having to still go to the farmers market to get produce, but thats what this Kroger leaves me with. Could be a great store if they treated it like that.

Visited the store and purchased alcohol. Proceeded to self-checkout with ID in hand. As I knew the employee working self-checkout would be asking for it. Well that didnt happen, the notification popped up and said "help is on the way"!!!! I turned and looked in the direction of the employee, she never turned around but cleared the screen and I completed my transaction. Although I am of age to purchase alcohol, it concerns me that teenagers could come in and purchase alcoholic beverages and the employees wouldnt even do their job and review ID. This is a great store but the employees are making it go down hill fast.
