Have purchased thousands of $$ from this store and tried to return a $12.00 item and they refused to take it back as I did not have a receipt, although the credit card transaction was in their computer. I spoke to the manager( tall thin guy) and when I reminded him that they had the rediept in the computer, he then told me that he thought the item look used, but infact it was not! HE ACCUSED ME OF LYING TO HIM AND HE WOULD NOT TAKE THE ITEM BACK, EVER...............! YOUVE LOST ANOTHER CUSTOMER WHO SUPPORTED YOU SO THAT WE COULD HAVE AN INDEPENDANT STORE TO GO TO AND SO YOU COULD COMPETE AGAINST THE BIG BOX STORE DOWN THE ROAD. I WILL TELL EVERONE NOT TO USE GENERAL HARDWARE AND TELL THEM WHY! THAT MANGER IS LOOSING BUSINESS LEFT AND RIGHT FOR THE OWNERSHIP........

This is a fantastic old-fashioned hardware store -- anything you need they will have. If you dont even know what you need, they are very helpful about explaining what will work for your situation. Plus, in the 15 years Ive lived in this area, I have never been patronized by anyone just because I happen to be female, and thats refreshing. Oh, ladies, if your husband keeps swiping your kitchen tools and not putting them back, they have a fantastic line of flower-decorated small hammers and screwdrivers perfect for your junk drawer. Your junk drawer tools will never be swiped again.

This is a good hardware store. Its not one of the cleanest or friendliest in town, but you can find what you need if you know what youre looking for. They definitely dont deal with the bad attitudes or seemingly helpless customers but just walking around in the store is a magical trip. Theres merchandise absolutely everywhere and it is very old-fashioned. It looks much smaller from the outside, but once you walk in you can hardly make it to back of the store. Old staff, old store, charming products, blast from the past, fun and interesting.

Good selection and good, quality brands. Ive seen some negative reviews, and I dont judge since I cant really "consider the source", as I dont know those reviewers. That said, the folks in there know their stuff, have the stuff you need, and probably have to put up with a lot of stuff in the course of a week. All Im saying is, "Dont be a douche, and your experience should be good, like mine." Hardware as I remember it in days gone by. Totally dig it.

Found what I needed. Cute family business. Too bad the two employees I interacted with were incredibly rude and condescending. The cashiers unnecessary tone changed when I told her to "lose the attitude". Not sure what is happening there, but I just needed an 10 cent bolt. Not worth it.

Ive been in there before, but today needed some long screws. There is no way i would have found without the great help there... they are very knowledgeable and found exactly what I needed. Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man ... Good job guys

Its fun to walk in here even if youre not looking for anything specific. Staff somehow knows how to find everything in the maze of goodies. Really helpful. Wish they stayed open later... but this is the epitome of your local hardware store.

This place is the local hardware store from my childhood on steroids! Despite the size they have a really, really good selection of tools (some hard to find stuff too!). Definitely worth the trip even if its a little out of your way!

This is a gem!!!! No more Lowes or Home Depot in Atlanta for me. General has EVERYTHING you need from making a rare key to a cabinet screw. No more Blue or Orange apron for me! General Hardware is my new store!

I work right down the street from them and use them all the time. Easy to get help from the staff. Their mascot, Jerry, is a cranky ole curmudgeon that really knows his stuff! Jerrys a trip!!
