When I first walked into the Cotton Patch Quilt Shop I lost my breath a little at all the lovely fabrics, beautiful ascetics of this pretty shop and the sound of quilting machines whirring at top speed around me. I was even greeted with a nice hello, however my experience in this store quickly went downhill after the first few seconds. As a newbie to quilting, I walked in full of excitement to discover more about quilting fabrics and techniques. Im pretty sure I looked like a duck out of water as I meandered about yet not one person in the store ever approached me to offer their assistance or to even inquire if there was something in particular that I needed help finding. Feeling overwhelmed, I simply chose one small item and proceeded to check out. This is where I was even more aghast at the "coolness" of the employees and quite frankly some of the older snooty customers. Again, never having shopped in this store and standing in a group of folks near the cash register (there was no sign indicating where the line started) I was taken aback by the amount of people that approached the counter and were waited on despite the fact that I had clearly been waiting to check out. The clerk could have at least directed me over to the right place (which was really an awkward place to have a line and one would not know this unless they were a frequent shopper there) or allowed me to check out yet it was a customer who finally allowed me check out in front of her. I decided to ask the gentleman checking me out if they carried a certain brand, and received a tense no, like I offended him. Would have been nice if he instead asked if there was something in particular I was looking for. I politely thanked him and left after giving him my money. I honestly never imagined I would leave a fabric store feeling so snubbed and rattled. I went a little further south to a quaint little quilt shop called A Quilters Journey where the 2 lovely ladies running the place immediately embraced my newness and bent over backwards to help me. I will not step foot back into the Cotton Patch Quilt Shop. Instead I will happily go out of my way to the little shop that restored my faith in a new quitting passion and give the sweet ladies there my business.

Beautiful store, very bright & cheerful. Staff was very friendly. Nice selection of fabrics and patterns. Prices are average for a quilt shop. I will definitely go back the next time I visit the area.
