My wife and I love the selection at this store. Full with great pick ups. But our frustrations started with the 1 lone employee working in the store. It was just the 3 of us in the store so it did not seem as if he was busy (at least customer wise) but each time we asked him for some pricing on some games in the glass case or on the wall behind the counter, he seemed disgruntled or bothered by it. We asked him for the price of the donkey kong game and watch in the glass case and without opening the case to check the price he told us it was $60. So we had our hearts set on it. We shopped around some more and we asked him about some more prices but he really just seemed anxious for us to leave him alone. Finally as we had finished shopping we asked to purchase the game and watch and he then opened the glass case to pull it out and revealed to us that it was actually $110. That is an inflated price of almost 40% from what he told us! He further explained that another employee must have changed the price recently without his knowledge and that it is "highly collectable" which we are obviously there to purchase as collectors. But a $50 price difference? I know there is a lot of prices and merchandise to keep up with but come on. The frustration is, is that he really did not want to tend to us. It didnt really stop there. He told us that the complete in box pokemon silver version was $60. When we reached a decision to purchase that item he told us we needed to wait so he can check with his owner on the retail price. Why is it hard to just get us the right price from the start?? He explained that it might retail more then what he said from the start but since it had a crease on the front and back it could be sold for the price he was asking. Just overall the couple times my wife and I have been to this location the customer service has not been to satisfaction. We love the pier park location and have made our way out many times and the customer service has been phenomenal there. I never want to be a customer that is overly harping about matters but sadly those experiences have turned us away from that location.

tldr: Extremely nasty way of doing business. Cash refunds should be MANDATORY if they sell a broken game. Employees played me and I regret giving them my business. Horrible experience not only with the product I purchased, but with the customer service. I bought a PS1 game and not only was it sold to me unplayable (a lot of scratches) but when I brought this up to the person working, he claimed that all of our games are tested and are sold in working order...ok... Since it was an impulse buy I trusted the employee enough to buy it for $20, since it was an old favorite of mine. Come to find out, once I popped it in, it would not work. So I make a second trip a few days later to return it, extremely annoyed that I spent money on a broken game. This different employee then informs me that the previous employee "is new and should never have let the game leave in that condition" SO being the generous customer I am, I let him throw it into the CD buffer and it removes most of the scratches. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice though?? Come to find out the game was still unplayable, and strike two was it. THREE times I had to drive out of my way for this issue, and come to find out I cant get my money back (store credit ONLY) because this third employee claims that people would buy games, beat them, and return them for cash, which was definitely not the case. I am glad that it was only a $20 hit, and it was more than enough for me to never go back. I am stuck with a useless $20 store credit slip. Luckily word of mouth is quite prevalent, and will not hesitate to share this horrible experience with anyone who asks.

This place is disgracefully tacky. The owner, Joshua Degrace, is rude to the customers. He offers people money on items posted on craigslist and face book to lure them into this small over crowded shack of junk and then lowers his offer in attempt to scam said customer. I wouldnt do any business here and I would avoid at all costs. The old consoles dont work, they refused to honor a warranty on an old console that stopped working. Completely rude and the use of profane language is heard by the staff. They try to regulate the market by offering lowball prices of the craigslist and then switching them at the last minute. The reviews that came after mine all have a conflict of interest being that they are part store owners. Not even real customers, it is sad how low they have to stoop.

I purchased a Wii along with 3 games. Got home and one of the games did not work. That same evening I went back to Retro Age and swapped it out for another game, only to go back home and have issues with that one, also!! All they could do was give me store credit, but I deserve a full refund. Now, I am sitting here with $32 of store credit when I am NOT going to be purchasing anything else from that store!! So, management, if you are reading this, you need to consider revising your policy, because this is pure B.S!!

I absolutely LOVE Retro Age. Ive been coming here for a long time and Ive had nothing but great experiences. The people there are always so lively and energetic. Always so eager about their jobs and extremely knowledgeable about the games and systems they sell. I"m a huge supporter of local business and will always be a Retro fan! I dont know what has some others so cranky, because this place is #1 in my book!

A no return policy on a Christmas present bought for someone else is complete crap, especially when you ask the associate working and they say yes. I am now stuck with a useless store credit. Will not recommended nor do business again. Running a business is about making your customers happy and they will return.

Kinda hard to judge. I love going here for retro games and the staff is always super knowledgeable but, the selection can be a bit lack luster at times. Prices can be hit or miss but, it is generally pretty fair and on course compared to what you can find online.

Great inventory!!!! I brought in a bunch of old games and they gave me cash when I was in most need of it. Also about a month later I went in to buy my son a Wii system and they gave me a discount for my return business. Appreicate that they recognized me!

Love this place! The young man wearing the glasses that was working this afternoon provides excellent customer service. Id definitely recommend Retro Age over GameStop. They even pay more for used gear, especially if you opt in for store credit.

Best game store ive ever been to! Got so used to going to other stores and them only having a ton of madden games! This shop has it all, from the old to the new. Also got to meet the owner, always a plus to shop local!
