I am so angry. I called this Pep Boys on Friday, and asked them if I need to reschedule my Saturday appointment due to the hurricane. The person who answered the phone said, "No, we are open all weekend." I knew that couldnt be accurate; nevertheless, I brought my car in today (Saturday). The sign on the door said closing at 5:00PM. I asked the clerk, "You are open until 5:00PM?" He said, "Yes, but we may close at 2:00PM." He went on to say that he would let me know if they close at 2:00PM. I get a voicemail at around 11:00AM to let me know that my car was done, but no update about closing. Then I get another voice mail around 12:20PM. He said, "Please come pick up your car. We will be closing soon." I thought to myself, "They must be closing at 2:00PM." I got in my wifes car to go pick up my car. It is 1:30PM, and they are all closed up, and I cant get my vehicle. A hurricane is getting ready to come through. I have no idea when they are going to reopen, and I dont have my car. Nobody has called me. They just get up and leave, and now I am without my vehicle. What responsible business does that!? I will never come back here. This is a huge indication on how they do business. They just leave not knowing my situation with this hurricane. I am just dumbfounded! And they leave at a time that they didnt advertise. They tell me first, "We are open all weekend." Then they tell me, "We will close at 5:00PM." Then they say, "We may close at 2:00PM." I show up at 1:30: All closed up and not a soul in the store. What business treats their customers like that? Once again, I will never ever go back there!!!

I went to this location because I had something in one of my tires that looked like a nail. It was close to the edge so my husband said they could either fix it or would have to replace the tire but that would have to be determined when they looked at it. When I got there I went in to see the man at the desk. I told him of the situation and he came out and looked at the tire. He immediately said " You need a new tire". I then asked him to see when they looked at it if the nail maybe hadnt gone all the way through as there was no leaking going on. He refused and said " No, you need a new tire." I told him again I wanted them to look at it first before I paid for a new tire..... again he said no because he knew it needed replacing. I didnt get a good feeling from this guy, so I told him I would have my husband bring it back. I knew he was treating me that was because I was a woman and of course I dont know anything about tires and he probably felt he could get away with a sale. Keep in mind if he had just agreed to look at it and assess it before he came to that conclusion, I would probably have had him take care of it. Any way, I took my car down the street to another place called Boyds. Little shop, not a chain, and they looked at it, pulled the nail out... and because it was sideways, didnt puncture the tire and it wasnt leaking so he sent me on my way. I saved myself almost $200. I would not recommend Pep Boys on McMullen Road in Riverview to anyone I know. Especially women, sad to say.

I got an amazing deal thats why I feel bad about writing this review. 4 brand new tires plus an oil change and alignment for under $1,100 but the next day I noticed that I had a flat, hand fulls of tire soap on all 4 tires, an absurd amount of white balancing weights on the outside of my black rims and a vicious vibration between 45mph and 60mph. So basically everything that I paid for, great deal or not was done very poorly except for the oil change and for some reason im expecting the oil light to come on just to make this a perfect story. Upon dropping my truck off, they asked me if I could leave my truck there completely inconveniencing me but I did anyways and did not pick it up my truck for 24 hours so they had plenty of time to do quality work. I literally spent money on a taxi to pick up my truck the following day. Great deal and Great customer service or not I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Im almost afraid to ask them to fix these issues because they may ask me to keep my truck for a full day again. Word of advice to anyone who ignores my warning, do not have you vehicle professionally washed and waxed right before bringing you vehicle here...there is no regard for how clean it is when you drop it off! Sincerely, sad to say but a very disappointed customer.

I bought a full set of tires for one of my vehicles and two for the other, as well as oil changes and I like the place. However, I will not be going back. I needed my battery replaced as it would not hold a charge and required a jump start every time I turned it off. I made an appointment online for 5 pm, showed up, was told it would be hard to complete a BATTERY CHANGE in the TWO hours before the store closed and that they may have to keep it over night and they were going to charge me 63.00 to change the battery. Wow! I told the individual I was speaking with that I had to have a guarantee that I would get my car back that night - nope, no guarantee. So I took my car to Auto Zone, bought the battery, the guy at Auto Zone installed it in ten minutes and BOOM, done. So, the moral of the story is that Pep Boys wanted to charge $63.00 for ten minutes worth of work. Its a shame - I really did like the place but I will not be returning. That type of dishonesty cannot be rewarded with patronage.

Went here to have a coolant leak diagnosed on my truck. The service manager told me I had two freeze plugs seeping behind my exhaust manifolds, and one leaking badly behing my power steering pump. Gave me a quote of almost $1500 (which I later found out included replacing my exhaust manifolds and power steering pump that are just fine), and told me I would have to have the freeze plug holes honed at a machine shop before they would do the work, which is completely unnecessary. Took my vehicle to an other shop to get a second opinion and from their diagnosis had the shop replace the plug behind the power steering pump, as I could only afford to take care of the worst one at the time. This revealed that the tech was dead wrong, and this plug was only seeping, and the one behind the passenger side exhaust manifold is the bad leak. And they missed the leak coming from the water pump. I wouldnt take my vehicle back to these people if they paid me.
