**AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE** **DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE UNLESS IT MEANS CERTAIN DEATH!** **AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE** **DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE UNLESS IT MEANS CERTAIN DEATH!** On 04/21/16 I was traveling from Charlotte NC to Atlanta GA and my TrailBlazer stopped on the side of the freeway and wouldnt restart. While waiting for the tow truck to come (approx 1.5 hrs) my car battery died due to the hazards being on and charging my phone. I had AAA tow me to Pep Boys at 2418 Laurens Rd in Greenville SC. Upon arrival, I explained the situation to the service writer and informed him that the battery was only discharged due to the long wait with the hazard lights on, but that it wasnt related to the problem. He said: "Ok, my guy will check it and well know something within the hour." He came back to tell me I needed a new battery. I again reiterated the fact that the problem wasnt battery related...but he insisted, so I authorized a replacement battery. He NEVER discussed battery pricing, warranty info or any features and benefits for the battery...just installed whatever battery he liked. A few minutes later, the service writer came back to say: "Welp, the battery didnt fix it, so hes going to check a few more things." At this point, I knew things were going south (No pun intended) so I left the waiting room to go watch the "technician" work on my car. He literally LOOKED at my fuse box...as in, with his eyeballs only and said: "You need a fuel pump." No tools, no multi-meter, no volt meter nothing but his eyeballs!! The problem with this is that the fuel pump is located inside the gas tank! I asked: "How do you know?" To which he replied: "Theres no fuel pressure at the fuel rail." I said: "I just had a fuel pump module installed in February, not even 3,000 miles ago." He says: "You mustve got a bad one or something because this one isnt working. If you want us to fix it, itll be roughly $1100.00" I said: "OK fine, let me make a few calls and Ill give you my answer. I proceeded to contact the repair facility who installed my fuel pump to ask about warranty. After looking me up in their system, they verified I was still covered under warranty for parts and labor. I told the Pep Boys employee to leave my vehicle as is and that AAA would tow it home for me. He then asked if I wanted to keep the new battery "since the other one was old anyway." I said: "No, go ahead and put the old one back in." I had to rent a car to finish my trip which cost me $287.14 I had to pay Pep Boys $99.52 for a diagnosis and I lost HOURS of driving time dealing with this. When I returned home from my trip, I had the TrailBlazer taken back to the facility where the fuel pump was installed at 7:30 AM. They didnt open until 9AM. They called back at around 945-10AM to tell me that the car was fixed. The only problem was the fuel pump relay. It was a $17 part. It took less than a minute to install. Thats NOT an exaggeration, it literally takes LESS than a minute to install. I called Pep Boys to ask for a refund on my "diagnosis" and was told the manager would call me back. He/she never did. I called 1-800-PEPBOYS and was PROMISED a return call within 24-48 hrs from Ken Brown who they identified as the area manager. That NEVER happened. I called 1-800-PEPBOYS AGAIN, and was told by a heavily accented person whom I could BARELY understand, that there were "no supervisors in the entire building." STILL nobodys called. Im guessing nobody cares. I cant see me ever stepping a foot into another Pep Boys as long as I live. Sorry for the long post, theres even more to the story...but this is the condensed version. **AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE** **DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE UNLESS IT MEANS CERTAIN DEATH!**

Id leave negative stars if I could. I took my car here back in march because my car broke down on the highway, they told me it was my fuel pump and fixed it for me by the next day for around 500/600 dollars...4 months later my car broke down again with the exact same issue. I still was under warranty so I got them to redo the service. They took 6 days and were in no rush to get my car back to me vs the first time when it literally only took one day. I called nearly every day and couldnt get a straight answer from anyone. They said they had to order the part and wait for it to arrive, then the two of the fuel pumps they put in my car didnt solve the problem so they had to get a whole new fuel pump assembly which supposedly "worked" so finally I get my car back and within four days it broke down again. So I take it back again under warranty and this time they took 5 days to fix it, saying that they had to order the part for the dealership instead of autozone this time, when I ask the manager Jeff why he just didnt do that when the first two they tried to put in my car after it broke down the first time didnt work the only thing he could come up with was "its more expensive" as if that makes a difference. If its more expensive but fixes the problem then thats just the way it has to be. Dont half ass fix my car just because you want to be cheap. They waited until the last day they had my car to tell me that theyd pay for a rental which was pointless by then. Could have told me that before I had to blow 136.58 on Ubers just getting to and from work. I just got my car back two days ago and the check engine light came on again, so I took it back yesterday and he said oh its a totally different problem but it might not even be that big of a deal so Ill just turn it off for you. It came right back on by the end of the day. Im just trying to understand how they had my car for 11 days and didnt see this "totally different problem". I took my car back today to get this "totally different problem" resolved for about 300 dollars (new oxygen sensor) and by the end of the day my check engine light came on AGAIN and my car is driving worse than when I brought it in to them. As you can imagine Im beyond pissed. avoid going to this place unless you have an abundance of time and money to waste.

Went to get my car inspected due to vibration in the steering wheel at high speeds. I suspected maybe my balance. I also asked for my fluids to be checked and topped off if need be! Well I walked across the street to eat while they worked. They took nearly 3 hours..but they were very busy and only do walk ins..so I understood. So I go back and they show me tape that had been stuck in my wheel that was holding my TPMS in place! It had been the cause of my vibration! So I asked about my fluids and they had forgotten so I told them it was fine Id check them myself! I then proceeded to pay and my total came to $70 !!!! I was like what was that high!! All you did was pull a piece of take out off my wheel????? Well come to find out they balanced my tired anyways even though they were fine...and they also rotated them??!!! Why did they that?? I didnt need a rotation nor asked for one! Talk about trying to get over on someone!! So they removed the rotation charge but still charged me for the balance on all 4 tires that I didnt need!!! Never will I go to such con artists again. They basically got $40 just to play with my wheels and drive my car 7 miles down the road!!! They werent rude or anything but they definitely took advantage of the situation! If you check my balance and its fine then you dont need to balance a tire..very unprofessional and dishonest service! And to add a service I never even asked for as well as not even doing what I requested! Ill know next time to never use their service!!!
