DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY DAMAGED MY CAR AND WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR THEIR ACTIONS! The original estimate we received was given by Robert @ Vantage Motorworks for $5,000.00. This was after emailing Robert many detailed pictures of the car as well as speaking in length about the work that was needed. Vantage Motorworks put us on a waiting list and we waited approximately 4 months for them to begin working on my car. When we finally received notice to bring the car into Vantage Motorworks in August, Robert was out on medical leave. We met with the owner, Richard Gorman and he took delivery of the 1930 Oldsmobile with an employee named Dieter. They received the car and did an inventory of all the parts they received. By the way, their shop is nothing like the pictures represented on the website. In my opinion, the office looks like it should be on a hoarding reality show of some type. In or around September 2015 Robert returned from his medical leave and advised us he was working up a detailed estimate for repairs and restoration of the car. Late September we received an estimate for $35,000-$40,000. Robert explained this was the cost for the repairs necessary. When asked how the estimate could go from $5,000 to over $30,000 he did not have much explanation, he simply said this is what was necessary. Keep in mind, this was AFTER they took delivery of the car and it was already in their possession. After we had a considerably large expense to get the car down there and inventory the many parts. They baited us in with a small price and then more than quadrupled the price once the car was in their shop. After much going back and forth, he referred us to another shop to do the work, stating that they were now too busy to do the work themselves. They arranged to transport the car back to us after A LOT of wasted time. The car came back to us today, November 2, 2015 with MULTIPLE dents, scratches, and missing parts. These parts, I might add, were original parts from 1930. Robert Gorman made statements that were suspicious during the original delivery of this car to his shop in Miami, warranting the inventory of parts taken. He stated that the value of the parts for this type of vehicle were more valuable than the car itself. This struck us as odd as to why the owner of a shop would say something like this to us. It is even more suspicious now that upon return of the car to us, there are several missing parts. The return of the car was videotaped, as well as multiple photos taken. Again, there is a lot of damage to the car that was NOT there when the car was dropped off at Vantage Motorworks. Multiple irreplaceable parts are not accounted for. We contacted Vantage Motorworks and asked for their garage keeper’s policy and they refused to provide the information. After much badgering, they reluctantly provided us with their insurance information. Please, anyone thinking of using Vantage Motorworks, do not waste your time. Feel free to contact me for copy of the video or photos of the damage done to our priceless car.

Arrogance at its worst. I made an appointment to view the R-420, #19 that has been available at Vantage for some time. I was told it was the daily driver of the company President. What I was not told was the car had some 20000 miles extra miles than advertised, the paint was appalling and the wood and leather completely shot. Overpriced cars with no truth in advertising. Used car traders / bait & switch trading at it best. Additionally, the workshops are an absolute mess, filth and junk everywhere, quite the opposite of the picture portrayed and the flowery English used in the advertisements. The front office is worse ! And by the way, do no let your significant other anywhere near the bathrooms.

Vantage Motorworks arranged the purchase of our Silver Cloud III James Young SCT100 at a substantial discount from the The Collection in Las Vegas, recommissioned the car which included re-arching the elliptical springs, rebuilding the carburetors, rebuilding the front adjustable dampers and much more. We just had a new interior put in the car, which included a new headliner, carpeting including the trunk and lambs wood overlays, refinishing all the wood and renewing the leather upholstery. The car is used at least a couple of times a week. It runs and rides perfectly. Vantage Motorworks crew is second to none. The company stands by its work.

I bought a 2002 Corniche from Richard Gorman with a 6 month warranty (never heard of that before for a RR). Twice in that six month period there were issues costing several thousand $ (it happens with these cars...) I never even had to call Richard - my mechanic dealt with him directly and Vantage Motorworks paid for the repairs without question. Richard is a gentleman and his word is good.

I have been using Vantage for several years (3 kids driving). They do excellent work at reasonable prices and are a pleasure to deal with. They do a lot of work on Porches and BMWs owned by car collectors, which says a lot about their work. They are absolutely straight up and trustworthy.

The best in town. Perhaps the best in the country. They have done a wonderful job on my RR. I could not recommend them more. Expensive, sure but worth every penny. They will do an excellent job. The peace of mind that they can maintain and fix my baby is priceless. Ed Lazzarin
