I bought a 2012 Kia Soul from Century Kia in Tampa in October of 2011. I loved the car and after barely having it for two years, some jerk put a big scrape on the back quarter panel while I was parked at a 7-11 getting coffee...they just hit me and took off and I was pretty upset! It was on a Friday morning... I went into Lokey Kia the very next day (Saturday) to find out where the Body Shop was ahead of time so I could bring it in the following Monday morning after having the damage appraised by my Insurance Company. When I arrived at Lokey and showed them what happened, they of course asked me if I would like a new car instead...SURE....ha-ha, I thought! So, I humored them and said if they could get me a new 2013 Kia Soul exactly the same as what I had for about the same price, I would buy a new car......and they did!!! I dont know how they did it as I had a 6 year loan on my 2012 and only had it for two years...but for only $1000 down and a few bucks more a month, I now have a beautiful 2013 Kia Soul.....and a prettier color too!!!!!! PLUS, they told me I will get reimbursed from my GAP Insurance on the 2012 Soul as well....more money back!! Had I kept my 2012 Model, I would have had to pay my $500 deductible, a rental car, and lost money from missed work....so for about the same price, Im driving a 2013 Model that is smoother riding, quieter, and oh my gosh, getting FANTASTIC gas mileage!! Kia really improved the car with the 2013 Model!!!! I dont know what they did to it, but I am getting over 30mpg in the city.....WITH the air on!!! I just went on an interstate trip and also got over 30mpg with the air on going about 72-74mph average speed!! So I am ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!!!!! Thank you Lokey for the FABULOUS deal AND a FABULOUS new car!!!!!!!!!!! My personal thanks to Doug (My Salesman), Ron (My Finance Officer), Dave (A big, friendly Sales Manager behind the showroom desk), and Charlie (The General Manager)!!! You guys are AWESOME and really make me feel like a VIP Customer!!! I really appreciate you!!!! Oh, and thank you Charlie for the swap between the top-off tank of gas and my ipod cable that came with the car that I would never use.....I still think you got the better of the deal...lol....but I know I got a great deal on my car! Thank you!!!! :-) I highly recommend buying a car from Lokey...they treat you right and make sure you see DOUG JOHNSON as your Salesman if you buy a Kia...wonderful man!! Lokey now has a permanent customer!!!!!!!

This is definitely one of those places you wish you never had gone to and can just erase. The car buying experience was horrible to say the least. Lucky for me I dont just sign where I am told, I am able to speak up for myself, and I am not easily intimidated when surrounding by barking males. The terms I agreed to w/my sales man were not the terms written on the contract that they wanted me to sign. Lucky for me I saved our texts and e-mails since my salesman got amnesia. (I guess that was a warning and really shouldve just stepped away there) A while later asI am driving my vehicle around I get stopped for the temp plate, but I pull out my paperwork and with no hesitation and give it to the nice police officer who very politely tells me this car does not come up as registered to me. He allows me to contact the office while in front of him to prove it is my vehicle and though there are no managers to help me over the phone the rep confirms to the officer I bought the car but the paperwork was not pushed through because someone "forgot" to do so!! They did everything rush order that Monday after realizing the mistake. After buying the car I was given 2 sets of keys, one which did not work. We were told by the salesman he gave it to us in working order, after a few months of going back and forth they finally realized the key did work.. ON ANOTHER CAR!!! It wasnt even my key! The check engine light is now on (it hasnt even been 30 days at this point) and no matter how any times I take it to "fix it" the problems persist. They offer the free oil changes which you think, hey at least something is in my favor BUT because it is FREE you have to spend the whole day at the shop. I have followed all protocols, made the appt, explained to the service agent, I am in the lobby waiting for the vehicle, mentioned I have other appointments and yet same results. the least I had to wait for an 815am appt is 3 HOURS!!!! Even if I am the very first car to arrive at 745 before anyone is even there. This place is an absolute joke and has the most horrible customer service I have ever had to endure. I know different people get different results.. just saying buyer beware and good luck if you get anything good accomplished there.

Heres my message: Watch out for the "great" deals of Lokey. They are absolutely NOT great! With one of these trade-in deals, Lokey St Pete managed to sell my car before I actually had bought one of their cars (oops!) so I was forced to buy their car at a higher price! Then the other day, I got an email from Lokey Kia telling me that they need my current car and are willing to pay thousands for it. I was anyway looking for a lower interest rate, so I called and spoke with Gerry from Lokey Kia who said that surely I would be able to profit from this deal. So I went there and after choosing a nice car, Gerry kept assuring me that my trade-in would be fine and I would be able to get a great deal. He assured me that my monthly payments would be pretty much the same, my interest would be lower, etc. All I needed to do was put $1000 down for the new car and I had no problem with that. So all great news. I have a good credit score so everything should be hunky-dory. After all these wonderful assurances, I met with Mark the next day (I believe thats his name - the surly guy who handles the finances at Lokey Kia) who told me that I couldnt get the lower interest rate - in fact it would be higher, I had to pay $100 more every month and I had to put $2000 down. In short, a total bum deal! He didnt even try to do something for me. He told me my credit wasnt good enough so there was nothing he could do. I dont understand that when I have a good credit score and after all the assurances of Gerry that "everything would be just fine". I know that with my previous car there was no problem getting a loan. So I basically was told to shove off, and I left. It seemed that after all the promises, nobody tried to do the deal - contrary to what they tell people on TV (i.e. Ricky Rizzo standing there with the KIA crew shouting "We Always Do The Deal"!) Well, they dont. I am a marketing expert by profession and I can tell you, this is bad marketing - Lokey promotion is simply not true as long as they employ people like Mark who dont want to make an effort at all and, the biggest mistake of all, who just blame the customer for "bad credit" when thats not true. So watch out for these great sounding "deals" - you will end up paying more!
