My washer decided it didnt want to spin or drain water. I called and asked the woman over the phone what the price range was (I knew it was either the switch or the belt. Looking at pricing on DIY sites I could pick up what I needed for around $20) She told me she couldnt give me the cost over the phone. I asked for a basic price range, and she was still not able to provide me with any figures whatsoever. (I had a different company called Low Cost Appliances repair my dryer last year for $60, so I figured it wouldnt be too expensive) They repair man came out the next day, and met with my mother-in-law who was home at the time. The service man opened the lid to the washer and said it was the switch - which would cost $119. (???) That is more than I paid for both my washer and dryer as a set 3 years ago. My mother-in-law called me at work to advise of the price, and I told her it was too much to pay for a used machine. She promptly called me right back and told me there was a $49 service charge for the guy to come out. I WAS NEVER ADVISED OF THIS when I called the previous day!! I called their office immediately and spoke with the girl who I originally spoke with. I told her that I felt it was not fair that I was not advised of the $49 service charge, and I wanted to to waive the fee since she didnt inform me the day before. She became very defensive, stating "Well, so just thought we were going to come out for free??" I said, "Well yeah , you never told me of a service charge, so how was I supposed to know?" So now I have to pay almost $50 bucks just to have some guy tell me whats wrong with the washer, and then leave? The female employee and I went back and fourth before she cursed me out and hung up the phone. These people are ridiculous, overpriced, and RUDE! DO NOT CONSIDER BAY AREA APPLIANCE TO COME FIX YOUR APPLIANCES!

I cant say enough about how great Bay Area Appliance is! I am a property manager and over the last few years they have made my life so much easier. I can literally call and ask Abigail if they can send a stove and refrigerator to a property and tell them my color choice and the next day its delivered, installed, and warranted without me doing anything else but pay the always lowest price around. The few times (I can remember maybe only 2) there was an issue with an appliance they sent, the warranty was honored by either repairing or replacing it. On top of it all, they are completely honest when it comes to repairs. Example: I called in with a "dead" oven. Abigail suggested it was a heater element replacement needed, asked me the model number and said she had one in stock for less than $20. I picked it up, plugged it in a voila! It worked and we didnt need a service call. Regarding service calls, they are more than fair. Their repairman may not speak English well but he will let you know if it doesnt make sense to fix something and if it doesnt, he doesnt charge you. If buying a new or perfectly refurbished appliance is cheaper he wont gouge you to throw good money after bad. If you are looking for a oven/range, a refrigerator or whatever I highly recommend this company. Ive been telling people how great they are for years but after today when they (once again) came through for me I thought it time to post a review for "the world" to see. Thanks again Bay Area Appliance!

I WOULD LIKE TO START THAT THIS COMPANY IS VERY SHADY!! I MADE A CASH PURCHASE ON A STACKABLE WASHER/DRIER WHICH APPEARD TO BE IN VERY GOOD/NEW CONDITION. AFTER HAVING THIS ITEM FOR 1 MONTH IT STARTED TO BREAK DOWN. I HAD IT REPAIRED BY BAY AREA APPLIANCE WHERE THEY REPLACED THE MOTOR. SINCE THEN THE MACHINE HAS BEEN DOING THE SAME THING. IVE PLACED SEVERAL CALLS TO THIS COMPANY AND NO ASSISTANCE OR CONCERN HAS BEEN MADE, EXCEPT THAT THEY WOULD SWAP IT OUT FOR ANOTHER ITEM IN THE STORE (WHICH LOOK WORSE THAN THE ONE I HAVE) AND SUGGESTED THEY SEND MINE BACK TO THE MANUFACTURE. THEY OFFERED TO EXTENDED MY WARRANTY BY HAND WRITIING IT ON THE RECEIPT-BEING SHADY AGAIN! SO WHY AM I SO UPSET?? THEY HAVE NO MORALS OR BUSINESS ETHICS!!..THEY WANT TO SEND THE ITEM I PAID $800 FOR IN CASH TO THE MANUFACTURE SO THEY CAN REPAIR IT AND SELL IT BRAND NEW AGAIN--AND GIVE ME SOMETHING THAT WAS OLD, RUSTED, AND IN POOR CONDITION!!...NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE FROM THESE CROOKS. IVE ALSO TOLD EVERYONE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD TO STAY AWAY...AND NOW TO THOSE ONLINE, GO TO A MORE REPRUTABLE STORE AND GET THE SERVICE AND RESPECT YOU DESERVE!

Bay Area Appliance saved the day. Heres what happened. My old washer needed new washer agitator DOGS. Yes, DOGS. Four little teardrop rubber pieces. Called APSCO, the man said they had the part. Their website has three locations listed as open until 5 pm on Saturday: Clearwater, Largo, St. Pete. At 1:00 pm, I headed for the Largo store at 4520 East Bay. When I arrived the place looked abandoned, with the front of the building covered in plastic, with advertisements of another retailer "coming soon". I called all the numbers listed on their website and NO ANSWER. It was a nasty, rainy, cold day. I was cursing (at APSCO). I was just about to give up, but decided to go down Missouri Ave --- that is when I came across Bay Area Appliance----neon lights blazing. They were OPEN and had the part I was looking for. Thank you Bay Area Appliance I will be back and will refer you to all my friends. BAY AREA APPLIANCE-- OPEN ON SATURDAY-- 1420 S. Missouri Ave, Clearwater, FL.

Rude character. Tried to upcharge repair by 700.00 . Talked down to customer. Did not understand that I was the "adult " that called for repair. Informed tech that I was not Informed of amount of service call. Never told him I would not pay. Regardless I was pleased he shows up with in an hour regardless if he new anything about electrical dryers.. Which this tech didnt! He rudely begins to down talk me and say you live in America know how this works. I informed him I never said I would not pay.. Never! He begins screaming Im not going to argue with you and drives off. . Awful experience. I had every intention on pay the rude foreign man that addresses 45yr olds as children. Im very glad this didnt work out! Dodged a bullet there!
