This dealer has played the typical bait & switch. Ive been approved through Toyota Financial for over a week, and I still dont have my brand new car that I agreed and signed the buyers order for. First a dealer trade had to be made, then they started dodging with that saying "the delivery guy at the other dealer went home sick after the auto show (when they should have offered to have Newarks driver go and get it), we will try tomorrow or Sunday for delivery (other dealer wasnt even open on Sundays)" when during the paper signing process it was "the car is at an auto show in Wilmington and will be brought here when they return", its now been 5 days. First it was the car is at an auto show (day 1), then it was the driver went home sick (later day 1), then it was the other dealership was playing hardball (Price Toyota) on day 2, then it was that the manager was at the other dealer completing the transaction (day 5), to after that phone call - the road is blocked and has to wait until tomorrow (later day 5). Note: During this process I was never contacted to be told any of this, I had to call to find all this out (poor communication). Little did they know I have an insider at the other dealership who had confirmed for me that Newark never called them to arrange a dealer trade (on day 2), the said car was there and waiting to be sold since day 1 (not at an auto show) and had the manager of the other dealer call me to confirm this and offered for me to come there and buy the car from them (the other dealer), and then even passed my info on to a salesman and had him call me to persuade me to come there and just buy the car since Newark Toyota was obviously leading me on (he said he would have it prepped and ready within the hour). I was a lifetime Honda owner trying to make the switch....I guess when the dust settles, I will just have to stick with Honda since their dealers actually want to MAKE money, not play around. I never once had an offer to try another dealership, they never proactively called me to keep me informed, and when I called my sales rep and the dealer I always got voicemail. You would think a manager would step in to say something to me the customer (if this was really all occurring and a salesman had informed them)...but no, never heard from ANYONE but from the other dealer offering for me to come to them (called three times in an hour - thats how dealerships MAKE money). In 5 days, I heard every story they could think of instead of the truth. It just seemed that THEY (Newark Toyota) did not want to complete the dealer trade and go the extra 5 miles to get the car for me (literally 5 miles from Newark Toyota to Price Toyota in New Castle), in fact it seemed like they didnt want to sell me a car at all (in either case they should have just said so - I would have went to get the car myself after paperwork, or would have settled for a lesser equipped model there in-stock at Newark). Ive bought Honda and Nissan in the past, the Honda dealer went all the way to the Poconos to get the car I wanted no problem or questions asked, Nissan dealer - went all the way to South Virginia to get the car I wanted AND insisted I keep my trade-in (until my actual new car was in) and INSISTED that I take a loaner vehicle on-top of that while they traveled to get my car. Now thats customer service. All-in-all im not sure what to make of why I was constantly lied to, why they didnt want to do the dealer trade that THEY brought up (I didnt even ask), but more business for Honda or Nissan. Hopefully this saves someone from the frustrating experience that I had over the course of worrying about the Hurricane. Anytime someone makes you feel like you have to beg them to BUY THEIR PRODUCT (anyone would have given up after lie #2) that is not the place to do business with.

To all friends and family here. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE TO STAY AWAY FROM Newark ToyotaWorld WHEN PURCHASING A CAR. I dont usually bash companies/ people like this, but today I was on my way to purchase a vehicle I had spoken to someone about on Monday. So we get there at abound 12PM, test drive the vehicle. They run my credit and come to me with their financing options (a monthly payment with no APR listed). I had done my homework and was pre-approved through Capital One. I told them that I wanted to use my offer instead. Also kbb had listed that vehicle for approximately $500 less. The sales lady agreed to use my pre-approved offer but had to speak to the manager regarding the price. Thats when she came back and told me that the vehicle I was interested in had already a deposit and they were contacting the potential buyer to see if they were still interested. So after more waiting she came back with my pre-approved offer and the price that KBB had listed it at for a fair purchase price. She said that that price was fine, showed me what we would be paying a month and that shed start the final paperwork. After another 15 to 20 minutes she returned with the Sales Manager who told me that unfortunately the vehicle had a deposit and all they were waiting for was for them to get insurance. He apologized more and I told him that that was unacceptable because my credit now was checked (which will remain on my credit history for another 2 to 3 years). He said he was sorry but "what if I hadnt went down on the price? " I laughed and said that $500 really didnt make a difference to which he agreed. He offered apologized and said that there was nothing that could be done but asked if we wanted "a soda for the road". After that smart remark I wanted to talk to a managet. After waiting for about 15 minutes Matthew V. Riley ,a General Sales Manager, appeared and I was told that hed look into calling the credit bureau to see if it could be removed. That which is a total joke anyways. So if you dont accept their loan/ financing offer in order for them to make the most money off of you as possible, stay away from them because they will NOT sell you the car. Not only 3 hours of my time was wasted, but my credit was negatively impacted. Which is the thing Im really annoyed with. #PleaseShare

Three months back, went into the dealership to test drive a highlander, the salesman, Ken P, committed to a price that was about $500 over the invoice price (which is fair) for a 2014 highlander with captains chair second row and entertainment system as options. He scribbled everything on a piece of paper and handed to me. I then sent an email to confirm the price and called him and went over the options again. He assured everything was good and that I will get the car in 4 weeks. A month later, he said the car was in production and will be another 3 - 4 weeks. 4 weeks later, he sends a VIN number and tells me there was a delay and the vehicle will be ready in another couple of weeks. Well, another 4 weeks later, he calls and tells me the vehicle is ready. When we went to pick the car, the car had no captains chair second row, no entertainment system and a totally different VIN number. He then tells me Toyota usually gives a VIN number while manufacturing and then changes the VIN number after production -WTH?? He says he thought I had typed entertainment system in my email, but meant navigation system and tries to sell me the car. The options he originally committed will now be a couple of thousand more. I asked for his manager, 30 minutes later, his manager, Jim K, who was copied on all emails, never came. I did not want to spend any more time at this dealership, so I left. If this is not bait and switch, I am not sure what is. It is a wonder that these people can sleep at night knowing what they do for a living. Shame on them. Shame on Toyota for doing business with this kind of a dealership. I am not buying a Toyota again.
