I love this place! I was directed to go to Golden Mill when I first moved into this area after being out of state for a few years. At first when I saw the building I was unimpressed. Its definitely not big or fancy, but they had exactly what I needed, prices were fair, they were helpful, and it was reasonably close to my house. I continued to go there for my horse feed needs but for some reason I never considered their dog or cat food selection. Then the big box store stopped carrying the brand of food I had been feeding my dog for years. Golden Mill carried the food, and so I explored their selection more and they had EVERYTHING I needed for cats, dogs, and of course the horse. I was so thrilled to be able to help a local business and no longer need to make 2 stops for pet supplies! They always take time to answer any questions I have about food, are budget conscious too (like when I said I had heard good things about a certain brand of food, they agreed it was good, but pointed me to a different brand that was equally good for what I was needing and it was significantly cheaper). They always carry everything to my car for me (usually before I even notice) and always are so pleasant. Never going back to the big box stores again!

I highly recommend shopping here if you have pets. They stock high quality food and all the necessities; not only that but they are knowledgeable about the products that they do carry. The owner and employees are friendly and nice every time I go in. Update 4/13/2014: Ive continued to shop here like I have for the past 5+ years and have still never had a single bad experience; they have taken care of several special orders that I have placed with them and are just the friendliest, nicest place to shop.

First time visit on 06/17/2014 and the staff was EXTREMELY helpful even though I arrived at closing time! My vet told me to go talk to them about what kind of dog food would be best for my dog that we just adopted through a rescue that has hot spots and non-stop itching. They made sure I understood which foods would be the best value for the $$ spent and did not try to sell me the most expensive food they had. I will definitely not be going back to the big box stores for dog food again!

Wonderful store, extremely well stocked for everthing from rabbits and birds all the way to horses. They sell bulk items in 50 lb bags and are willing to split into smaller quantities, no problem. The staff is what really makes this place shine though. They are curteous, friendly and helpful. They let you look around without being intrusive and eager to help when needed. This is one of the best feed stores along the front range. I will be back!

We have been shopping at this feed store for years now as we have horses, goats and today we purchased 9 chickens from them. Anytime I call with questions even if I didnt purchase the chicken from them (in the past), they were very helpful! Anytime we go in to Golden Mill the family owed feed store people are so friendly! This store has everything you will most likely need for your pets or livestock. The absolute best part about this store is the staff. You are greeted warmly, given friendly and knowledgeable advice when you need it and your vehicles get loaded up with your purchase before you can get out the door. I highly recommend this place.

I just went there for the first time today, and I needed some straw for our garden. It was pouring rain out, and I ran inside to pay. By the time the transaction was completed, one of the guys had already opened up the back of my truck, loaded in a couple of bales of straw and had it closed up already. I was impressed.

Great store, not surprising at all that there isnt a bad review on here. These guys and gals that run it and work there are always friendly and helpful no matter what, they feel like family and I will always buy from them and not the big box stores, good job golden mill!

If you live in Golden this is the place for dog food and toys. The staff is awesome and very knowledgable. Prices are slightly higher than the internet and big box stores, but you are supporting a small local business. One of the best stores in Golden.
