If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. My boyfriend and I just went there for a feeder rat and some crickets. They charged us $28.04 for 140 crickets and 1 medium rat. NO RECIEPT!!! Didnt even ask if we wanted one. We walked out of the store and my boyfriend said "how much did you pay?" So I got to thinking. I went back in there and asked for either a reciept or for them to re-calculate. So they recalculated and saw that they overcharged me $1.50. No, thats not very much but if theyre overcharging every single customer that buys something in their store, theyre making a huge chunk of dishonest change!!!!! We then asked for a reciept and they wouldnt give us one. So they gave me the money and I left. My boyfriend was so frustrated that he just wanted to take the rat and the crickets back inside and get our money back. He went inside and they were so incredibly rude. They called us Spicks and then flipped us off. Of course we were frustrated and we werent the nicest. BUT you dont do that to customers. They bagged so many LARGE crickets together with one small egg crate and no air in the bag. I thought they were going to suffocate on the way home!!! Im so incredibly frustrated with this place. Were better off going to petsmart and NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO VALLEY PETS!!!!! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!!!!!

This is going to sound like a bad review at first, but I swear its a good one. So about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I purchased a white mini Rex with brown spots and a large scratch down the middle of her back. I named her Bella, and brough her home and my dad (a rabbit breeder in his youth with thousands of rabbits) saw the scrath I paid no attention to. He said it looked like she was mounted by a male and shes probably pregnant. Me being me said she could have been but what are the odds of her being pregnant? Well over the last few weeks, Ive tried to pick her up and she hated it. I thought she was just shy and hadnt warned up to me yet. Well somtime between yesterday and today as I left to visit North Carolina and left Bella at home with my parents she gave birth to 4 kits, one looking like her and the other three looking like her cage mate, who for the record I was told was a female. Well, despite the shock, Im happy for my girl Bella and it wasnt too bad a price for 5 rabbits lol. I cant wait to go home and see them!

Best spot in town and have went to many others. The large chains will always look nice but most of the staff know nothing on animals other then basic info on the animals they have which the selection never changes at. Here Dave Jr. is very knowledgeable and they will always have a large selection of reptiles. The dog and cats are in cages larger then many people keep their own pets in plus they are cleaned multiple times a day. I know vet offices that might do it once a day. All the animals are in great condition unless is one that was brought in by a previous owner that did not take care of their animals correctly. If the animal dies over 2 weeks after you buy it congrats you killed it. But wait I have taken a lizard in that took a turn for the worse a month after buying it my own fault and they replaced it no charge and helped me correct my cage for the next animal so that it stayed perfectly healthy Thank You Dave.

This place is complete garbage. I understand pet stores have an odor due to the location that you are entering. But this place is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Not only that. Getting the attention of the workers or products is a whole experience unto its own. They are some of the lowest price for items. But double check Walmart or Amazon just for the safety of the animals that are having to live there. I believe that any positive ratings were friends and relatives. If you notice the negative ratings there either 4 or a one star. I wish I could explain how horrible in a description this place is. Unfortunately this is the best I can do. I did start them funds. With the hopes that they will get a second phone line so that they can speak to customers and process a debit or credit card transaction at the same time. Best of luck if you go in there and take some sanitizer

It was my first time in this store and my experience was awful. First there was a big dog in the glass display that was way to small for him he couldnt even stand with out his back to the top and deffinitly could not turn around. Second there were two little dogs in a open display thing and as my girlfriend started petting them a women literally yanked them up by the skin of their necks and said their done playing and not so gently put them in their kennel. I was very unhappy with my experience and there was a gentleman complaining about the big dog. I dont care if she was having a bad day or not, you do not treat animals like that, especially if we were interested in buying the little dog that she yanked away from us.

My experience was rather very unpleasant. With small children there the owner was using very strong language ranging from the f bomb to the female anatomy. The only reason I am writing a negative review is due to the fact that I had purchased a tarantula that one of the store employees sold me and the very next day the tarantula had died when I went back to the store with the dead tarantula the only thing I got was " oh Im sorry what did you do wrong?". No store credit and no exchange for another. Im a hobbyist of tarantulas and I will not enter this store again. Worst $60.00 ever spent. Go to Jurassic world they are very professional and know what they are doing. 0 star rating for me.

This place is filthy. Not only is the store a mess, the majority of the sales associates/owners cuss worse than sailors, not only to each other but at customers. Every time we have been in, the majority of the reptiles are soaking in their dishes, indicating an infestation of mites. Depending on who you are dealing with the price of a rat changes and they are charging significantly more than Scales n Tales. I would much rather make the thirty-minute drive north to purchase feeder rats of high quality and a steady price than to enter this pet store again.

I’ve been there a few times over the last couple of weeks while I was setting up my tanks. I went there today to get some koi fish. After telling me how much they were, the lady walked away and turned off all of the lights to close the store while I’m still standing there with my kids. I understand business have to have hours but, I didn’t know theu were closing. Rahter than being a decent human and telling me they were closing, she shut the lights off and walked away. I will never spend another dime there and you shouldn’t either.
