Please do not support this store!!! When we went last week, there were 5 young iguanas in just a 10gallon habitat-- 2 of which were DEAD (one of the dead ones had mold on him he had been there for that long), A clearly, very, sick iguana, a sick/dying bird, and a puppy laying in vomit... I have pictures and video of all of this-- please help me share it!!... after finding the iguanas, I adviced the older woman on oxygen at the check out counter and I also began asking her basic care questions; vet visits? Diets? Etc... She said she didnt know where the person in charge of reptiles was, she said when they have a sick pet the call the vet, and that ALL reptiles get fed veggies, meal worms, and crickets. (Really?? ALL reptiles? Including IGUANAS who are VEGETARIAN!)... Finally, Amy (who states she has no certifications or special education, but has been working at this store for 15years) arrived and said no worries, i removed the dead iguana... funny she removed just one, considerring there were 2. So I asked if she just removed one, her response yes I removed the dead one, there was just one... No Amy there are clearly 2 (you would notice this IF you clean their habitats regualarly and/or JUST MOVE their (unfresh) water dish). I had to show Amy the 2nd dead one who had mold on him from being in there for that long. Please note there were 5 total iguanas in a 10gallon tank. 2 of the iguanas were dead. And one was clearly unhealthy with black lesions on it. I used my phone to document all of this, video and pictures... THIS PLACE SHOULD NOT BE CARING FOR OR SELLING ANIMALS!!! I live with an aquatics and reptile specialist, we are educated people who love and care deeply for any kind of animal. To see the iguanas, then the dead bird, then the amount of puppies they had in small wall containers-- one of the puppies laying in vomit... We left in tears!! No soul should live like that-- let alone die and be forgotten about like that!... Please help get the word out about this place... Id be happy to share my horror pictures/videos.

i just want everyone to know, the horrible experience I had at pet city in the citadel mall. First off, the second I walked in asking about the dog and the price, the comment was "are you here to purchase the dog or just play with it" If anyone knows anything about me they know i have had 2 shiba INus, paid full price for both of them. Finally came down to price and i was ready to purchase, I asked them if they had any specials, they said they do not negotiate price and that they do not give any discounts what so ever. I proceeded to tell the employee i know that isnt true and just because I have the money doesnt mean that it is fair to not treat me with the same respect as everyone else. Just to find out the dog is super sick, and is required to go to the VET before i can even take her home. So I asked why they DO NOT HAVE a vet who examines the puppies, before purchase or while they are in their custody they said its not a possibility and NO one has ever herd of that in the last 18 years as being possible. The owner was VERY rude and said she didnt care if I came back or spent money with her or not. IF this business is not confirming they sell healthy puppies we OBVIOUSLY cannot trust them and i would NOT RECOMMEND buying a dog from them at ALL! how ever the pet city in aurora treated me with the upmost respect, they already had the puppies pre discounted and they do have a vet on call that treats the puppies on site!! LIKE A PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS WOULD HAVE! I would really like to see this business, get shut down. It is not safe for the puppies and not safe for the consumers!

Taking care of the animals and recording their progress is amazing. You also get to learn a lot about pet animals and how to care for them at home, but this is a terrible place to work for. As an entry level associate, your needs and work duties are less important than those with manager positions. I worked here for a little bit over six months last year and I left because of hostile environment and unfair treatment. You are expected to complete many tasks within a timely manner, and are given different random tasks everyday and is still expected to complete within the same schedule. The word of those with seniority counts more than yours. If your car brakes down in a cold morning right before getting to work, it is more important for you to get your shift covered than fixing the problem yourself and getting to work. Your personal needs and priorities are less important than those of the managers. You are expected to wait for approval of daily work dismissal after the manager has completed her more important tasks first, regardless of what u have going on in your own personal life that needs to be taken care of. I dont recommend this position to the lightly moving worker. I dont recommend this position to those who speak a different language. I dont recommend this position to those who have many things going on in their life such as school, or kids and family. Your needs and priorities will be unimportant and not considered.

Appeal: Their store is clean, they keep a large variety of animals which seem healthy, and have a vast selection of animal care products. I have visited this store many times just to browse and kill time and will continue to. Service: The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, they appear to actually care about the animals and the customers. The policies are another matter. Where I understand liability and understand what is best for the animal, their policy to buy a puppy is to feed the animal 3 different time and that means if you bought the animal Monday you will not get it till Wednesday. The staff will not waiver on this at all. They also have a medication policy for the animals that is restrictive. Say you buy a puppy the puppy has an upper-respiratory infection you have made an appointment ,per their policy, with one of their recommended Vets (they pay for the first check up). If said animal does not have the appointment at the appropriate time in correspondence with the medication given they will withhold the animal from you until the appointment time. Overall Quality: First off I would never buy a animal from them again because of the hassle of having to jump through hoops. I would still however go back to purchase animal care products from them. Over all I like the place and the staff is as helpful as their managers will let them be.

I went there multiple times throughout the year to see what puppy I wanted and could take home happily. Everytime I went in there and asked the same lady with the glasses who is unhelpful and disrespectful. She always rudely refused to allow me to pet any I asked for whether theyre too busy or the its a certain time for the puppy. Most of the (older) staff is rude and cant read animals. I couldnt ask for the sticker price without getting asked other questions if I can afford buying a dog from them. Thankfully a good employee answered all my questions and gave me useful tips and knowledge about dogs without the attitude. I didnt expect to buy from this store with their obnoxiously rude staff. But an actual pet owner/employee allowed me to interact with the pups and I fell in love with them and took two home in the end. Animals need home but I do wish I went up north and adopted or bought from a much satisfactory environment and experience. Also the pups come from "breeders" hence why they only seem to care if you can afford it because all they care about is their money not the animals.
