AWFUL experience for me! Be careful. Do your homework!! I bought a 2004 Nissan Xterra Aug 29th and paid over $10K for it, being told this includes fantastic extended warranty. Well, Ive had trouble with the vehicle since I drove it off the lot. Trying to get in touch with someone was very very difficult - I left messages, wrote emails and made more calls until finally I got someone to call me back. I live over an hour and a half away, up in the mountains. Ive had the car in for service three times for the same problems - vibration at 45+ mph and very sluggish acceleration. Once the new head mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the car, they stopped trying to fix it! Early on they kept pressing me to make payments and I cried to them that the vehicle does not drive properly and Im not making a payment until they tell me what theyre going to do to fix it - the girl, Jessica, told me she would NOT let me speak to anyone from customer service until I make a payment! What the heck??? Every time they had the car to fix it, not only would it take many days before I got the car back (although they were nice enough to get me a loaner car). When I did finally get it back, there was always something else wrong with it! This past time I got the car back the windows wouldnt roll up! Customer service said that "the window problem doesnt really effect the cars performance" so they werent ready to deal with that! Here is the repair history - about a month after I bought the car, it finally went in for service. I was told the vibration was because I had it in 4WL (never had it in 4WL). It was towed there because it would no longer start so I asked if the tow driver could have put it in 4WL and to please check it again - same answer. They replaced the starter and since it had original plugs and wires, they replaced them to fix the acceleration problem. A day after I got it back the check engine light went on and it was for the catalyst system. I brought it back again for the same complaints in addition to the check engine light and they replaced the lower arm bushings for vibration and told me that two cylinders were misfiring and one wasnt firing at ALL!!!!! In addition to working on that, they replaced the catalytic converter per the check engine light warning. The third trip was for the same complaints, still poor acceleration and vibration. They ultimately replaced motor mounts, the upper arm bushings and as for the acceleration said that it was a "good working little car" (a 6cyl 3.3L) but the new head mechanic said there was nothing else wrong with it except that an Xterra wasnt made for the mountains! Of course, I called the Sales Mgr, Dan and asked him why he sold me a car that according to his head mechanic was not "meant for the mountains." He said he didnt know why he would say that! When I got the car back this time. I have to say that Customer Service was great in wanting to help me and seemed kinda disappointed with all the problems I was having with the vehicle. However, after the new mechanic said nothing was wrong with it, customer service said there was nothing else they could do!

My family has purchased 4 cars from Best Car Buys in the past 6 months, our experiences have been varied. We all dealt with the same salesman, Johnny, who was awesome every single time we worked with him. Johnny was helpful, honest, forthcoming and overall just a joy to work with. I would advise Best Buy to keep this man at whatever cost. We had a short encounter with another salesman, I think his name was Dan, who was the personification of all things slimy and wrong with a used car salesman! He was rude, abrasive and completely without merit or honor. Of the 4 cars we purchased two have had to go to the shop and I just made an appointment for a 3rd vehicle to be serviced. The one thing I will say about this situation is that the staff at Best Buy does make an effort to address service issues. The Ford we bought from them broke down 3 days after we drove it off the lot and continued to break down almost every day for the next week or so. After several trips to the service department Collid, the manager, made the decision that my daughter could get out of the contract she was in and choose a different vehicle. Best Car Buys was wonderful in showing her SUV after SUV until she found one that fit her needs. The finance company..... well what can I say about them? Its hit or miss. I spoke with a young man in the department, who blatantly lied to me on the phone. Although his co-worker Michelle has always been great when Ive needed to talk to her about anything. I will say this, if your payment is late they will hunt you down like a slave without paperwork, but if you explain the situation and keep the promises you make they are ok. I wouldnt say they are wonderful, but then again they are a finance company so its their jobs not to be wonderful. Would I purchase another car from Best Car Buys? Im not sure I would. Although they are ok their prices are higher than a lot of other car lots. I saw an exact duplicate of my SUV advertised with Rockys for 1/2 the price. Would I recommend a friend to Best Car Buys? Once again I am not sure, if your credit is dinged and dented this is probably one of the few places you can get a car that was made after 2000 that doesnt look or run like crap. But if my friend had decent credit Id probably advise them to go elsewhere. If I could do it all over again would I buy my SUV from Best Car Buys? Honestly Im not sure I would. Its not that this is a bad car lot, because its not. They have decent cars and just like with any Buy Here Pay Here place you roll the dice and take a chance when you buy a car from them. Its just they are not the only used car lot in town so doing some research and looking around first just might not be such a bad idea.

This was the first purchase that I had ever made with out my dads advice ,I purchased a vehicle a 56 days ago . This dealership claims to do a comprehensive careful exam of their vehicles before putting on sales floor: not true. I test drove the vehicle and immediately noticed that the clutch was almost worn out. I requested that I take the vehicle to my mechanic for a their opinion of overall condition for my own peace of mind , instead the high pressure sales team- sales man Wilson and his boss Dan insisted that it be checked again by their mechanics and that there was a lot of interest in the vehicle. And if I wanted it , I would need to make decisions promptly , salesman Wilson gave me his word that as a dealer in good standing they always stand by their vehicles with or without a warranty. I agreed and the mechanics did agree that it needed a new clutch , Dan said he could offer me a good deal and would only add only half of the cost of new clutch and install to the payments raising loan value only moderately. I agreed but was not told of any other issues found by dealer mechanics. As soon as the clutch was installed (which took one week over promised installed date ), and I drove off the lot within first few miles the air conditioning stopped working , once at home I realized that the newly purchased vehicle mileage was due for an oil change before I even purchased. The air conditioning ran me an additional 450$ to replace parts including leaking hoses. I then began having issues with the turbo in engine only occasionally working , I was told by my mechanic (because I couldnt get returned call from sales man who promised they stand by their vehicles) that turbo could very well need to be replaced roughly 1000$ but I could try a one conservative repair of existing turbo for 300$ but it wasnt a guarantee. I chose this option as I was low on savings after having just paid a reasonable down payment only a month before. After the repair was finished check engine light was off .... for 2 weeks ; after those 2 weeks the light reappeared and once again turbo was only occasionally working. I am trying to save for the more extensive 1000$ rebuild or replacement of the turbo , I have also gotten dummy lights going off because the sensors within the breaks need to be replaced ... I have contacted the dealer and the only thing they are willing to do is allow their mechanics to replace or rebuild turbo which they have said will save me 25$ off of the original 1000$ estimate I have already gotten . They insist that vehicle was in top notch shape when it was sold less than 60 says ago. I was sold a lemon and they definitely Do NOT stand by their purchases .
