I brought my skis in to get a pair of AT bindings put on. Staff was nice and they said they would have my skis ready the next morning. All I asked them to do was attach the bindings to the skis. I can adjust them myself, Im just not comfortable drilling into my skis. The guys helping me said that they wouldnt need my boots. So I leave kinda sad that I was just charged $60 for some drilling but I wanted to give this shop a try. I stop in the next evening expecting to pick up my skis and find that they havent been touched. I ask whats going on and get told that they cant be mounted because they dont have my boots and because a cosmetic piece on the binding is damaged. After 25 minutes of explaining to the guy, that I am supposed to be trusting to mount my skis, that the piece is cosmetic and serves no real function, I ask for my refund. He then agrees to mount my skis and confirms that he doesnt need my boots. He promises to throw in a free tune on theyre really expensive machine due to the miscommunication. So I get a message this afternoon when Im enjoying Apres that they need my boots to finish mounting. Really?! Weve been through this already! Ive paid $60 for them to drill 8 holes and turn 8 screws. How is this so hard... So I call them back and the guy tells me that theyre open till 5 so I rush to my locker room to grab my boots and run to the store. Im relieved as I see theyre still open at 5:05 because I want my skis. As Im walking in I notice that the sign on the door says theyre open till 6... Awesome, rushing around icy roads to get somewhere that was open for another hour... So I hand my boot over so they can "finish adjusting the toe piece". 10 minutes later he brings my stuff out, bindings look good, but the bases havent been touched... Guess that guy last night didnt follow through with anything. Im just happy to have my skis in one piece and never deal with this shop again. Such a shame since theyre so close to where I live... So all in all, I paid way to much money for terrible service and unfulfilled promises.

The Christys location in Avon is excellent -- easy parking, great selection of apparel & gear, and incredible staff. I rented skis many times over the course of the season, and the guys at the rental counter were very knowledgeable as my skills progressed. They even helped schlep gear to my car when I had kids in tow. When I decided to demo & buy, the staff at the sales counter gave unbiased opinions and got me a set-up that I love at an amazing price (and accounting for my rentals that season as well). On top of all that, you can reserve your rentals online (24hrs in advance gets you 20% off) to skip the in-store paperwork, and the returns policy is great -- if you want to keep your gear an extra day (or two or three), theres no late fee; just the additional day rental charge. I definitely recommend all of my visitors rent their gear here!

Visited Christy Sports in Vail and Avon several times during a trip a year ago due to the fact that I was having major problems with new ski boots purchased elsewhere. They went above and beyond in trying to help me fix the boots, but in the end, I had to give up. Ending up buying a new pair from them as well as new skis for myself and a friend as well as renting equipment for another friend. Hands down these guys were the most knowledgeable, professional and helpful folks I encountered at any of the several shops I visited in the Vail area. Also, their prices were reasonable and they had better selection than most other shops. The best.

Rented skis for 3 days from the Avon location to ski in Vail. They told me if there were any problems I could just drop in at the Vail location on the mountain and they could take care of me. By the end of day 1, I realized my ski boots were tighter then they should be. The morning of day 2, stopped into the Vail location during a busy morning and within 5 minutes took my old boots, got me a larger size so I was right back on the mountain, then at the end of the 3rd day, let me return my boots from the Vail location to the Avon location with my other equipment. Well done Christy!

The guy helping me with my RESERVED WELL IN ADVANCE demo equipment was great. He went above and beyond to find me a decent pair. However, I paid for demo skis and got terrible equipment. The tips were falling off my shorter than I wanted skis and they didnt have poles long enough for me. YES---it was 3 days after Christmas. Thats why I reserved specific skis well in advance. Try skiing with the metal tips flipping around and then planting your poles that are 3 inches too short for you. SHOULD have complained but I just took it for what it was.

I pestered these gentlemen about what skis I should try for roughly an hour before they got me out the door with a set of Rossi Demos. It was an absolutely epic day. Skis were well tuned, top of the line, and the experience has forever changed my attitude on schlepping my gear from the east coast out to CO. On top of that, the temps dropped on the mountain and I went in with the intention of encasing my face in turtle fur for the next days ride. Christy had the best prices and best selection in town. Thanks guys, you made my trip.

We have always received excellent gear and fittings at Christy Sports (Centennial, Breck, Vail, & Beaver Creek/Avon). Our last fitting they gave my 5 year old shorter skis than he normally has which made him slower than the rest of us. I wish they had a database that kept all of that info for routine renters to prevent issues like that. Out of the 4 times we have rented gear that was the only problem. Great gear and great service! Will continue to rent our gear from them.

They know their stuff and I get really good service here, usually. Last week, the gentleman who helped me with snowboards was less than enthusiastic. I had a good experience with his rec to demo a board and that worked great. However, picking the board and getting advice on the right fit for my style, I didnt get a lot of guidance. However, Ive had several great experiences here. They are helpful and friendly, I think it was just an off day!

For approx. 15 yrs have rented from Christy Sports for my annual 3 day ski vacation at Beaver Creek. Again this year had excellent service. No problem with renting at Avon and dropping off at Beaver Creek. Had a boot issue the 1st day, no problem replacing with a better fit at Beaver Creek. Every staff member at both stores was courteous, helpful and friendly. Will be back next year. Thank you.

Forgot my ski pants, needed a new pair anyways. The rack was organized by sizes s/m/L/XL... But brands and sub sizes, long/short/wide were just lumped together. The lady at the register didnt seem interested in helping me find pants. She just kind of poked at the gear a few times and then returned to the register 8 away to watch. Just after opening, we were the only customers in the store.
