Heres my warning, avoid Home Depot like the plague.Im a retired general contractor thats been in the industry for 34 years. As such Ive seen exceptional quality craftsmanship and materials and I must say that neither can be said about Home Depots window and sliding door products and their sub-standard craftsmanship from their contractors. For example the product they installed was supposedly the best on the market (a double life-time warranty window porduct). However, when you examine the installed product all of the screw fasteners are visible at a glance (which is extremely ugly for a finished and very expensive product). Secondly, 18 months after the product was installed all of the caulking failed creating gaps around all of the windows and sliding doors. Third issue: It took my wife and I more than 30 days to get someone from Home Depots service center to coordinate a return service to correct the failed caulking and separation in the screening on the sliding screen door. Fourth issue: when Home Depots contractor installed the sliding door he never secured it to the sill plate which caused the door to separate from the sill plate and the wall, we could not use the basement sliding door due to the fact that it was separating from the wall. When we finally got someone to come to our home to correct all of the issues (after 3 people on 3 separate occasions came to our home to measure for windows that we never ordered, instead of correcting the issues with the failed installation) the contractor did not correct the separation in the screen door nor did he finish the caulking work. But, he did manage to leave several screws on my back patio floor (what a sloppy jerk). As a retired general contractor I would not have lasted one week in the industry if I had performed incompetant sub-standard service like that of Home Depots contractors. I will never purchase their products again nor will I have their incompetant contractors enter my home for any reason. Should my very expensive, double life-time warranteed windows and sliding doors ever require repairing, then Ill perform the repair work myself. I escalated this issue to upper management and they "assured" me that it would be addressed to my satisfaction...boy, was I sold a bill of goods with that so called "assurance" from upper management. Ill have to correct these issues myself in order to get the the quality that I should have received in the first place, and the job done in a timely manner. If youre looking for exceptional quality material and craftsmanship, then you should avoid Home Depot at all cost. I paid over $8,000 for three average size ranch house bedroom windows and two sliding doors, it was the biggest mistake that Ive ever made. Thats what I get for doing business with Home Depot. In conclusion, if youre looking for crappy quality service that youll definitely regret, then Home Depot is the place for you.Sincerely,John Siri8692 W. 67th AveArvada CO. 80004

Holy crap! I partially blame myself for this experience because I typically order roofing supplies from a roofing supply store, however, if my hair dresser tells me that she is licensed to do nails too, im going to believe her. I make my way to the "pro desk" with my handy supply list with specifically listed items (gaf timberline lifetime architectual shingle) when i was told I had to travel the store to find 1 of every item I would need for the barcode (when I should have left) to which I said, you cant be serious, i find it hard to believe that everyone that makes a roofing order already has the barcode on hand, but I play along and I go to get the silicone and caps before making my way to the roofing aisle that is conviently blocked off so that a guy can use a skid loader for 12 minutes to drop a pallet of concrete. I finally aquire my 16 items and go back to rattle off quantities of said items, get contactor info in, get work site info in and specify that I need materials roof loaded...fatal mistake....poor guy looked at me like I shot him. He starts to sweat and said...ive only worked here 6 days and im the only person to manage this desk, ive never put a roof load in or had to open the register. The next 1.25 hours are a blur, people both came and went with no more knowledge than the first. I stayed A: because I was astonished at the inadequacy of an entire store full of people B: I actually felt bad for this poor guy. After 2 hours, 2 bleeding shoulders (literally) and $3000. I believe my customer will get a new roof. Meanwhile, there is something to noted here. You cannot man a customer service location with under trained, under paid staff. You get out of employees what you put into them. Ive certainly learned my lesson, however, now have complete contempt for not the store, certainly not the inexpierenced cashier, but the management of this store. Worst. Ever.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Dont ever rent a vehicle from Home Depot! My husband is a contractor & constantly rents their van to drop off material. His truck is in the process of being repaired & due to good experiences with their rental service in the past, he recently rented their van for a month. Not only did they send the police to our house saying that hed stolen their van, over it being back late (which he had already called Home Depot & talked to them about). But, the police also made a huge scene out in front of our house & neighbors, in a very respectable neighborhood. Such an outrageous accusation and demonstration was totally uncalled for. I tried to explain that he still had equipment in the van and had left to drop it off & the van would be returned the next morning. They insisted it be returned immediately. My husband took it back right away. Home Depot then decided they were going to charge by the hour instead of giving him the monthly rate, which came to the ridiculous total of over $3,500. Additionally, he was so rushed to return it that they kept the equipment that my husband had in the back of van as well as a cellphone he accidently left in there. Theyve never contacted him to try to return it or anything. So, realistically, they ripped us off, made a scene in front of our home & also stole from my husband! Thousands of dollars worth of equipment! I cant believe how they acted over a stupid rental van and that they had the police harass me at my home over it. Thats a great way to keep loyal customers who easily spend tens of thousands of dollars at your store every year. Well now be going to Lowes across the street. My lawyer will be contacting the corporate office to pursue reimbursement for the equipment that Home Depot kept, in addition to compensation for the emotional distress and embarrassment that they caused me and my husband.

I went into the Arvada store on January 2nd to do an exchange and return a cordless Dewalt 18volt combo set for 20volt cordless combo set and pay the difference for the more expensive 20volt set. Upon arrival at the return desk, I was greeted by a young lady who was all business, pretty cold and didnt take the time to explain how the returns work when you do not have a receipt. She gave me an in store credit for $50 less than the combo set was selling for on their shelves. I returned to the Return desk and was greeted by a different young lady who was as cold and unhelpful as the first one. At this point, feeling a great deal of frustration, I decided to talk to the store manager, (I wish I would have gotten his name). I explained to him that I thought the credit amount was incorrect and was $50 less than the price on their shelf. He very calmly and professionally explained how the credit amount is determined, (which was not done earlier). He explained that he could not change the credit amount but then immediately offered to discount the new combo set an additional $50 discount to compensate for the difference! That, to me, is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! What started out as a frustrating and dissapointing experience was turned into a 5 star visit by a professional and caring employee.
