After a very long morning on a beautiful hot day in August, I happened to be near this location and out of convenience, I decided to stop and shop at Store #1550. My experience was virtually the same as all of the negative reviews of The Home Depot and that is a shame because I used to love to browse and walk around in amazement; like a kid in a Candy Store. The Home Depot has always been the hardware store of my choice over the leading competitors, Lowes, Ace Hardware etc. However, on this particular afternoon- I not only am never going to return again but I am distraught, insulated, embarrassed and disgusted with the experience of my day. Not only did I call ahead to confirm that this store location had the item I was looking for, it took me over an hour once I got there to actually find what I was there to pick up. Once I narrowed down my selections, I went to pay at the register and before I made my final purchase, I waited by the register in the garden for the one helpful employee that assisted me to ask her final advice as to which items that I had selected she would recommend. Before I was given the opportunity to speak to her directly, I had a very unpleasant experience with the store management. Not only am I horrified that the staff is being trained or lead to behave and treat customers so horribly, I am speechless about this final shopping trip I made to a store that I ONCE loved. This store put The Home Depot Franchise stores reputation to waste.

Beyond irritated, my husband and I bought a $200 gift card for my mother. She helped us with some babysitting and mentioned babysitting put her behind on her yard projects. To make it up we bought her the gift card. She went shopping and at the checklane scratched the back part where youre supposed to. Unknown to her she ripped off the pin number needed to actually be able to use the card as well. The store she went to told her wed have to go back to the store it was bought to get a new one. My husband was given a hard time about the situation and finally a district manager over the phone approved it. He was told wed have it in 5-7 business days by mail. 8 business days go by so I call again this time Im told its 6-8 weeks to get it. So now my mom wont get her card till mid November not much yard work and get done by a 70 year old arthritis lady in mid November! Definitely lost my business mainly because of how weve been treated like we are attempting fraud or something.

The customer service here as been incredible! I was in the store buying a grill but had a fan in my car that I needed to return to Lowes because it was broken. The HD employees who were helping me with the grill found the same brand fan and replaced the broken part for me for free! It wasnt even their product! I was also buying new windows and had lots of questions and a hard time making the right decision. But the HD associate was super patient and knowledgeable. She explained all my options multiple times and let me go home to think about things and made the whole process very simple by allowing me to call back and pay over the phone. Again, outstanding customer service! I dont think they always have the best or most varied options but their service is unbeatable.

Most unhelpful store I have ever been in literally was in store for 30 minutes and walked out with nothing I needed. I asked several worker for help in lumber and got nothing. Went to the Home Depot in Arvada and even though it was way busier I was walked in got help and was in and out within 15 minutes even after I went back in after checking out for extra items. In all the best thing about this Colfax Home Depot is the hot dog stand! Sad but true buyer be ware!!!

I was having trouble replacing very old drainage piping underneath my bathroom sink. Mike, who was working in the plumbing department that day, was very helpful answering myquestions and finding all of the correct pvc piping, attachments, pvc glue and sealant that I needed to complete the job based on photos I took of the mess of horribly corroded piping I took with my iPhone. Thank you, Mike, and the rest of the Home Depot crew. -Megan

I stood at the paint counter for 10 minutes while employees looked at me and ignored me, until finally someone asked if I needed help. The employee immediately said they didnt carry the product i was looking for, without looking at a computer or even knowing what it was. I went down the aisle and found it myself, but decided not to buy it, because I choose not to support a store with such terrible service. thank goodness for Amazon

I went to this Home Depot to get a copy of a key. I came home to see if it works and it got stuck. Super stuck. It would not budge. I called Home Depot to see what I could do. They sent a manager TO MY HOUSE and completely exchanged both the top AND bottom locks for free with 4 matching keys. Ive never had better customer service and never been so satisfied with a response to a complaint. I really appreciate it! Thank you so much!

Sells repackaged items at full price. Inspect everything before you buy. Needed to replace screen on old screen door. Got screen, spline, and a "mouse wheel" roller. Roller package was stapled and taped together. Product itself was fine, but what the hell? You people should be ashamed of yourselves. Also most times I come here I have to wander around for ten minutes or go to customer service to find somebody to help.

Everyone was very helpful except for the person loading my vehicle. His name was Richard or Ricardo. He sighed when i asked him for help. I didnt get that from anyone else in the store. He was very harsh with my items. Just kinda tossed them in my vehicle not carring. I hope they have better people loading next time. Otherwise all departments were pretty good at helping me.

Tool Rental: I called and reserved a truck and he said one was available. When I got there he then told me they didnt have one. He didnt offer an apology and even worse he didnt call around to see if one of the other stores in Denver had a truck. I go to big box stores and expect to be treated like cattle but this is just is just inexcusable, and poor customer service.

Most of the time you have to actively seek a member to help you but ROB was actively looking to help people and thats how we ran into each other. Rob took the time to write out the sku number and the numbers to three different stores and extensions so I can call ahead and ask. So when you go to this Home Depot ask for rob and hell make sure you are all taken care of!

Standard Home Depot experience. I was looking for some wood and was able to use the well stocked discount rack for almost everything, so I spent much less money than I expected. As with most Home Depots these days, there were no manned registers for check out, so I had to use the self check out and ask for help ringing up the discount stuff.
