I brought my car into Pep Boys on Manchester in Westchester CA. I had them replace the strut spring seats, replace 4 tires and do a 4 wheel alignment. 40 days and 400 miles later a major bolt fell out that held the lower suspension arm in place causing the car to take an immediate right turn at 45 miles an hour, potentially killing my daughter and myself. I had the car towed to Volvo where they assessed $2,000 in damage. I contacted Pep Boys who requested that I tow it to their store and I did as a courtesy thinking they would be in a hurry to fix a mistake such as this. Upon arrival at Pep Boys the manager immediately took the position it wasn’t their fault, they put it on a lift and said they didn’t touch that specific bolt and wouldn’t do anything to fix it. I had the car towed back to Volvo and am contacting my lawyer. Oddly, I am a former front end alignment mechanic and certificated for NTSB crash investigation by USC...the first thing an alignment person must do is inspect and verify the front is in good condition before aligning it, in this case they only inspected it for up-sells and noted one soft bushing AFTER THEY HAD ALIGHNED IT. if I had been on I-405 at 65 miles an hour my daughter and I would not be here today Pep Boys has no quality control standards or training minimums, they would rather take their chances in court. It’s your car and your life...I will never do business with Pep Boys And for the record it was store ID 0474 service order 2068191 if anyone at corporate would like to rethink their actions, I will be happy to update this report.

DONOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I shouldve known better when the first day I called for pep boys towing service and they never showed up. I was stuck with my car for 4 hours before I realized they were not coming.I was forced to sleep n my car cause I live in another county.DAY 2.....Called for pep boys towing service at 11am.Truck finally arrived at 3:19pm. Driver was rude ass f**ck and scratched my front passenger side hub cap then proceeded mishandling my car. He almost popped my front tire pulling it up on flat bed then when I brought it to his attention what he did he said no he didnt do that BASICALLY calling me a liar. Then he drove like a maniac the whole way to pep boys. Once there manager Jose tells me he might not be able to get it done today. AFTER TELLING ME ON PHONE HE COULD DO IT IN ONE DAY. I feel duped. I live in another county and here I am stuck with no shelter for the nite.Its only the starter and its 3:50pm when I arrived and they dont close til 9pm. GOT TO DO BETTER PEP BOYS. I WONT BE BACK ILL BE GOING TO SEARS FROM NOW ON and reporting to better business bureau.

March 25, 2014 revision to my last comment. I called this store to see if they carried full synthetic motor oil. I pressed 3 and was on hold for a short while then I got cycled back to the main menu. I pressed 3 again and this time Jose picked up and said they do have that Mobil One 5W-40 oil. So, if I dont write anything else you know that I went there and got my oil. I upgraded them two stars. :-) Original comment: These guys may be really good, I dont know. I called at around 1:15pm on a Thursday and selected tires from the voicemail menu. I was on hold for about 5 minutes when they finally disconnected me. I already knew they had a good price from calling the other stores but my wife wanted to go to this Westchester location. I called back and selected tires again and after a couple minutes was cycled back to the top of the menu. I selected tires again and then I gave up and am writing this. I will go to the other PEP BOYS location.

I had called ahead of time to see if I could get my work van serviced in a timely manner. After confirming with the gentleman on the phone that if I left right away, he would take care of it within the hour, I promptly did so. On my arrival (which took no longer than 8 minutes) I was then informed that I would have to wait behind some scheduled appointments. Which wasnt a problem, waiting is pretty understandable since I didnt make an appointment. After waiting a little over 3 hours and questioning the wait it became clear I wasnt going to get the oil change / tire rotation I needed. I wouldve been much happier if they would just have told me over the phone they couldnt have seen me and to make an appointment next time instead of dicking around with me.

Wow, the customer service at this place is atrocious. I tried to redeem a $10 coupon that was expired. I received it 2-3 days ago soooo, but I get it. Ismail (not sure if the spelling is correct since he didnt have his name tag on), who claimed to be a manager got really aggressive with me stating "we are not going to do anything for you". He kept referring to Pepboys rewards as a separate entity (From the customers point of view they are the same). This guy actually went on to say "3 strikes you are out" before getting a senior manager. Carlos then addressed the issue and gave me a phone # to contact. Ismail could benefit from a review in customer service. I have been a pepboys rewards member for years. Not any more...

Went to this location to schedule to have my TPMS sensor fixed which was broken at another Pep Boys location which tried to act like it wasnt their fault initially. I was told by an employee at this Westchester location they would verify with the store manager who agreed to cover the service before coming in. Once I arrived for the scheduled appointment, they said I had to have to service done at that location where it was damaged (2 hours from my home). Never verified with manager like they said. Wasted my time again. Lesson learned. Pep Boys is just terrible. Better off taking your vehicle elsewhere.

Had some tires mounted here today and the experience was basically perfect. First off, ask for Jose, his customers service is spot on, hes fast, and he doesnt just work the phone and then appoint you a tech; he carried my tires from and to my car, got my paperwork done fast, and seriously hustled to get it done as fast as possible. He gave me an exact quote on the phone, and was done in 1/3 the time he quoted me. I worked in hospitality for 9 years, so I appreciate good customer service, and hands-on work. Jose is awesome, and Pep Boys doesnt always need to be thought of as a simple parts store.

Went here for help. The answer was "aisle 5 b" . They guy barely looked up from unpacking boxes. There were 20 kinds of what I was looking for and he didnt try suggesting which would be best. Went to guy at the counter and ASKED him and he put it off on his buddy to help. His buddy immediately replied he was busy.... Busy??? With what more important than a consumer????!!!!! Of which Ill never be again at ANY PepBoys. ILL GO TO AUTOZONE WHERE I K N O W THEY CARE AND WILL HELP ME.
