AVOID THIS PEP BOYS!! Been a PB costumer for ages and lately Ive been having issues with my suv, the pep boys in CULVER CITY has gone out of their way to try to fix the issue. I have taken it there at least 4 times for the same issue and every time I get treated like a paying costumer and really appreciate the effort to correct the problem.. I had taken my suv to the Culver city pep boys last Friday because of the same issues, they did some work and picked it up sunday. Today Wednsday my suv started having the same issues and didnt feel it would make it to Culver city. I live in harbor city so this pep boys was the closest and most convenient. I called the Culver city pep boys and they said sure no problem, I could take it to harbor city and they would take care of it. I walked up to the counfer JASON was on the computer, didnt aknowledge me, and just plainly ignored me. I figured he was busy so I wanted, remember Im standing right in front of him waiting for him to say may I help you or something. I swear it was probably 2 minutes no hello, no may I help you. Still on the computer. So I started explains my issue to another service rep standing next to JASON. soon as I started explains the problem and the history I noticed JASON who said he was the manager not give me the curtecy of looking at me while I explained the issue with the vehicle. Before I finished he interrupted and started giving me reasons why they couldnt help. I said if you look at the vehicle you can see where the water is leaking from and what work they did at the Culver city PB. He gave a few reasons why they couldnt do anything to help. I told him I didnt understand Culver city told me to bring it here and all the work done was in the system. He kept repeating that theres no way to know what the other mechanic did and would have to charge me for a diagnostic fee. I told him they had just done one at the other pep boys look in the computer. Jason repeated hed do a diagnostic but it is would have to pay for it. He had no regard for my situation nor did he care I was stranded. He told me to take the car to the other pep boys after I had told him my car wouldnt make there and I was stranded. He didnt offer suggestions or even to check the problem leak not for a second. I found him to be condescending, arrogant and somewhat combative and should not be a manager of a company such as pep boys. A company I like and take all my vehicles when I need mechanical help. This left me a bad taste in my mouth. I just moved about mile from this pep boys and I WILL AVOID TAKING MY BUSINESS THERE I much rather find another mechanic or shop in the area. I had my suv towed to the Culver city pep boys and I find that ridiculous because now Ill need to spend money to uber there instead of picking it up locally. Maybe pep boys does not have district managers to check on their staff and stores, I also noticed the music was very loud and it was rap which in most peoples opinion is not proper for a business establishment.

I live near this Pep Boys but for the last two years have been driving to more distant Pep Boys because this one had such a bad reputation. The other night out of desperation I went to them for a brake job because I figured - its a brake job - surely they can handle that. I was desperate because the small repair shop up the street quoted me $1400!! Even the Ford dealer was only a $1000 but still way more than I could afford. The manager at Pep Boys was very helpful, he worked down the quote and was able to just lube the calipers instead of replace and I ended up paying under $400! The manager told me I was right - the reputation had been bad at this location but he took over 2 years ago and has been doing all he can to turn it around. I am going back there for my air shocks that are also out once the parts come in. Everything the first shop said was wrong with my brakes was the same as what Pep Boys said too - Pep Boys just charged less.

Ive only been in a couple times that I accompanied a female neighbor of mine who was uncomfortable about not knowing if she is being taken advantage of, so I merely acted like I was just the next customer in line behind her. I was really impressed with the honesty of the man she spoke to, very honest, didnt try to get her to buy some unrelated or unneeded part just to increase the amount of the transaction and was extremely forthright about a potential wait time on parts. When she was done, he looked at me and asked if he could help me, so I told him, "No, not at all, my only vehicles are motorcycles, and I fix them...all I did was come here to see if my female friend was gonna get treated right, if you know what I mean...and now I know where I will take my own car when I need an honest mechanic!" He said that meant a lot to him, thanked me, went right to work on my neighbors car.

Finally after living in the South Bay for over 15 years, I found the place where you can get the service you really need, done well and at a very reasonable price. Unlike the ripoff quick/jiffy/you-name it lubes, where the 29.99 oil change charge is typical jacked up by sales pressure tactics and ripoffs, this place respects and does only what you request and they will only recommend the service or part which is plainly needed by your car. The service managers are upfront, honest , and the service technician,(Danny) who I have now allowed twice, first on my Van, and recently on my wagon, to perfrom service on is an utterly competent and conscientious individual.

This place is impatient, not customer centered , and possibly deceitful. I was told that routine services that my leasing agreement contracts out with Pep Boys were unable to be fulfilled because they dont have the parts... Its not like I have a Austin-Healey I have a freaking Hyundai 2017, what do you mean you dont have the parts for a massively massively sold vehicle all throughout America. Unless you have that stepdad vibe , this place probably will treat you second-rate or even third.

I was told they had a part in stock and when to pick it up and I asked for person that I spoke with so I can continue with getting my parts from him and he was clueless he said he never spoke with anyone about the part so I told him what I need it and they didnt have it in stock

Got "free" brake inspection here. They didnt even check all my brakes and told me I was fine. Well they werent. A short time later my front brakes were grinding on my rotors. Ended up costing me more money as I had to buy new rotors. Thanks a lot Pep Boys.
