Great bookstore. Parking is behind the store - down the alley. I found it easier to just park on the street. They were filming a Bollywood movie when I was there, very respectful staff on both sides. :) I brought my dog with me and they were totally cool with letting us peruse their selection. Not only do they have books floor to ceiling, they also have a nice selection of cards for all occasions. No coffee shop in here, simply books. If you desire something to nosh I suggest you take a short walk up Sunset to Cafe Le Petit, outside seating and yes, theyll let you have fido by your side. In addition to loving a good read - I love ghost investigations! Sooooo, supposedly this place is haunted! Oooooooh!!!!! Okay, well I have to admit that when I was in there, there wasnt much of any hauntings happening. However with that said, I went in the middle of the day. Better luck next time :)

What a pleasant bookstore.Attached is a small face with limited but comfortable seating where I enjoyed reading for several hours in relative peace.I cant comment on book selection since I tend do do most of my book shopping on Amazon and use boutique bookstores as study spots. There was a downstairs area with childrens books history / etc and a spacious open area with chairs for reading events which seem to occur with frequency.I will be back often for the coffee pastries and studious atmosphere.

Livraria muito legal, com um toque especial da equipe que trabalha lá. O pessoal coloca uns post-its nos livros que já leram fazendo um breve comentário sobre cada um deles. Vale a pena conhecer mesmo que não vá comprar nada.

Book Soup is one of my favorite little used book shops in the city. I can never leave this place without a book, or two, or three! Ive been coming here for years now so I guess a review is far overdue. The staff isnt overbearing at all. They say hi when you enter (sometimes) but for the most part youre left to your own devices, which is completely fine with me. IF you do happen to have a question though, they are very helpful and friendly.

Really excellent bookstore. Great, eclectic selection with some truly fine recommendations. I discovered a new author based on a recommendation they had posted and both my wife and I ended up loving the book and cant wait for this author to write again. Nice people, great location off Sunset. This was one of our "destination" spots when my family was staying on Sunset for a business trip. You can find parking in the back.

Great independent book store. I like how they organize the literature section by country something I havent seen before. They have great cards as well. They are also a print on demand publisher as well as printer of public domain books. Very cool! The only thing that annoyed me was that they charge a quarter to use the bathroom.

Attended many great and memorable booksignings here (Peter Falk was the best). Book Soup also hosted a couple of signings with actor/poet Michael Madsen (who I publish) and they were very professional with press, interview requests and promotion of event. Great selection. Purchased Bukowskis "Pleasures of the Damned" here.

I was honestly a little underwhelmed with Book Soup. Id spent a lot of time at used + new book stores in SF and appreciated those experiences much more. I did like how they promoted the authors whod signed + been advocates of the store, but in terms of selection and perusing... I was left wanting.

I have attended two book signings at this store. The staff is usually cool and polite. Yesterday I encountered two minor problems: a vituperative redheaded b-tch who yelled at customers, and a book that was priced at $70 that I found on Amazon for $25 (new). But overall I love this place.

I came here for soup before a train trip because I cant stop thinking SOUP. So good! This place lived up to my standards--which are getting high from eating soup all the time and I got a free lunchtime tequila shot for New Years Eve, so theres that.

Perfectly organized, interesting sections, books of every different category and Book Soup imagineable, and this place is so huge. The staff is very helpful, its open later than you would expect for a book store...I just dont ever want to leave.

Very expensive and cramped store. If you are looking for a book store that has celebrity appearances, fine, but if you are looking for a store that has book bargains, you wont find them here--quite the contrary...

I go here every time I go to LA for a job. Its by far my favorite book store. Logos in Santa Cruz is a pretty close second. But yeah, check this place out and support it and yourself by buying a book.

The best bookstore left on the West Side. Great reading events and selection. Parking around here is a nightmare, but they do have a couple of spots in the back if youre lucky enough to nab one.

This is the best private bookstore I have ever been to. It breaks my heart to say that since I have been to a many great bookstores in LA. Its like the bookstore you see on TV shows.

Great staff and great books, I really wish I had more time to stay an entire day exploring the place, but only traveled here for an event and my time was measured. I just loved it <3

Nice indie book store. Lots of unusual, interesting books, especially books about cats, for some reason. You can get lost in here for hours. The staff is real friendly and helpful.

Excellent selection, staff can be snarky, many nooks to peruse, layout a bit confusing, great indie bookstore to support, cute stuff for kids, fair prices, parking is a b*tch though
