WINTER Time

I like how this place looks like a small hole in the wall movie theater on the outside and how there are so many books, all mostly organized. I was looking for Narco-economics by Tom Wainwright - dont ask me why. The info search said there were two books left, but when I went to the section indicated (economics) it was not there. I think other readers picked up those two books and left them somewhere else in the store. I have done the same thing with this specific book at another bookstore recently. When i discovered it but didnt want to buy it yet. I guess this is karma. Times two. But yeah this is a cool little bookstore. I got a couple of bookmarks for a couple of my friends. Oh yeah, the cashier, Melody was very nice.

Its actually Barnes & Noble but the original historical marquee with neon sign (Bookstar) was retained. I like this location and the selection is not bad at all. Its clean and not overrun by too many disgusting denizens of humanity. The lack of the usual coffee/tea/cafe is actually a positive attribute. I think not having one keeps the place cleaner and with no tables, theres no presence of gross people slovenly spread out like lazy antelope with a dirty Jansport backpack and a laptop, sucking up free WiFi and stinking up the place, at least visually. Without whirring coffee machines and grinders disturbing the peace, this bookstore is nice, quiet, clean, well organized, with a fairly nice enough staff to boot.

Best Barnes and Nobles ever. BOOKSTAR!!!!!! Cudos to Barnes and Nobles for thinking outside of the box. Its located in the very charming Studio City and worth a days visit. The only challenge are the parking meters. They are strict on parking times in the L.A. area. Fun stop and worth it!

Love that this bookstore has stayed in business. Reason I gave this this only three stars is lack of customer service, the bookstore was empty when I came in a Tuesday at 6p.m. I felt like I was being watched the whole time, is the crime rate that high? Is that why they have a security guard?

Rarely enough sitting available. A bit noisy/busy towards the back of the store. In the two wings at the front of the store they have a lot of interesting large bound books. The store has bathrooms, must ask for key. Selection is much more newer stuff than say older books.

One of the only real remaining bookstores that carries absolutely everything your heart may desire. Real books! Its usually pretty busy but there is street parking as well as parking in rear. The neighborhood is fun and diverse so you can plan an afternoon locally.

Very old building, I always love to come here to buy books and sit and briefly view different magazines that I might be interested to purchase. I love shopping books and magazines. Great.
