I have been a frequent customer of Thunderbolt Spiritual Books over the past 7 years, and let me tell you that this place is wonderful. There is something for everyone, and mostly all faiths and forms of spirituality are covered. The downstairs area has an enormous buddah statue where coins and offerings have been left, and it is encircled by small stonesx minerals and crystals that are being sold. There is a larger selection on the left and also kept behind cases to the rear. Along the other wall is a selection of books and tarot cards as well as other tools for divination (runes, healing cards), a selection of prayer beads and bracelets and yoga mats and accessories. Upstairs there are more books and seminars and workshops are held on occasion. They sell a wide range of art; statuettes, tapestries, wall ornaments and pictures to name a few. They also have incense, sage, candles and oils and jewelry made by local artists. All of their staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and Tara the owners dog is a sweetheart. A place you MUST visit when you are nearby!

Russell the owner is a beautiful sounding person on the PHONE! that is important. I called requesting a book which he was sold out of . He told me he would order it and have for me by friday less than 3 days and offered to call when it is in. I wasnt til the end of the conversation that he informed me he was the owner. Kudos and Blessings Be . Cant wait to visit his shop and explore,If the vibe over phone is anything like the atmosphere of the shop I will become a customer for life.

First, they have an unbelievable selection of new and used books. I always find something interesting here. Last book I looked at here was a The Streets & San Mans Guide to Santa Monica, CA Eats. Upstairs is a table to sit and browse some books at, and before the smoking ban, have a cigarette and some coffee. This place is also open really late so if youre waiting around for someone, its nice to escape Thunderbolt Spiritual Books and bustle and come look around for a bit at some.

Thunderbolt Spiritual Books is a cultural oasis, a community space, and a one-of-a-kind institution. Check out their amazing staff rec wall as you walk in!

I was visiting my aunt and we decided to go to Santa Monica one day so I visited this shop. The people at the counter were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very cozy, and I think there was a dog which made the store 200% better ;)

Such a fun store to go and visit! Who doesnt love a good book? This place has a wide variety of options for bookworms. Why buy new when you can get a gently used book at less than half the price?
