They are actually renovating the whole market. Good thing or bad thing? Well have been coming to 99 ranch since the 90s, when my brother was a baby.. Thats almost 20+ years. To see it evolve from what it used to be.. is an astounding accomplishment. I cant believe the changes its going through. Its like a pokemon sort of. It was a charmander and now its evolving slowly. to a charmeleon and towards the Charizard. Sorry for my pokemon references.. but thats how I feel about this 99 ranch market. The female supervisor has been working there for such a long time and its definitely awesome to know that shes still around and making sure that this is the place for chinese grocery shopping in the san fernando valley. No where else can you get actual chinese groceries unless you want to drive to Chinatown or the San Gabriel Valley. However with such a incredible reputation and sharing the parking with other reputable businesses, the parking is always a struggle and a war. But that has never affected how unique this market is. Keep up the good work!!!

This 99 Ranch offers all kinds of Asian products rather than other locations that offer primarily Chinese items. Their fresh meat is superb and they offer all types of fresh seafood you can think of at very reasonable prices. Don’t expect this place to be spotless, but with the wide selection they offer at lower prices no one should complain. There is a reasonable amount of tight spot parking available and is anchored by a great Pho restaurant as well as a Sam Woo. There are “better” 99 Ranch locations that offer more products, but being one of the few Asian super markets in the Valley, it is great for what it is. So if you’re looking for decently affordable produce and fresh meat/seafood not found at the American chains this is your place to go.

Fantastic array of all sorts of Asian foods, not just Chinese, from vegetarian fake-meat products to an entire aisle of noodles. Butchers and fishmongers are great, really patient and open to a lot of specific requests, like grinding your pork on-site and deep-frying whole tilapia for free. Large produce department, although the quality of the produce can be hit or miss at times, especially in the winter months. Friendly staff, horrible parking, especially at peak times in the evenings and on the weekends. Go to a meal next door at Sam Woos or on the other side at Pho So 1, the best pho joint in the SFV before getting your groceries.

99 Ranch is an Asian grocery store. Other options for the area would be Galleria Market a few miles up to the north, or Mitsuwa 15 or so miles to the south. There are a bunch of spots in the parking lot, but they are packed in pretty tight. If youre nervous about that, there are usually open spots the further away from the store you get. Contents inside the store are standard for the chain. Its clean, bright, and theyve got all sorts of stuff. The shopping carts are narrower than you find at other stores, and you will end up kicking the wheel housing as you push if youre not paying attention so be careful with your feet.

Huge giant selection. Complete Asian grocery store on a giant scale. Live fish and seafood in tanks. Huge vegetable selection and produce. Giant giant store. ---They always run out of sushi way too soon in the day. Staff usually VERY RUDE when you ask them about this problem. ---Bad management. They need to train employees to be NICE TO CUSTOMERS. Also to MAKE MORE SUSHI IF YOURE RUNNING OUT BY 3pm, unless this is the goal. ------just cant give more stars when this is such a problem. Repeatedly over and over. Fix it and Ill re-review you.

When you are in need of making your own Asian food then look no further. This place has everything you will need and then some. We normally come here to actually pick up raw food for the pets as this place is very cheap for this type of stuff. You know gizzards, hearts and liver all the good disgusting stuff :) I love picking up the canned Thai Iced Tea that they have here. I always stock up when I get here. If you want to make sushi or shabu shabu this is the place to go. Just dont mind the smell when you walk in.

Love this place. Everything Asian. Prices are very good. The 99 contains a huge meat market, live fish in tanks and poultry (fresh killed, roasted, steamed or dried). Fresh and canned vegetables, including many uniquely Asian, are piled high. There is a selection of vegan and vegetarian foods. Also available is a very complete selection of cooking and serving utensils. Fresh baked goods and prepared Asian carryouts are delicious and inexpensive. Wheelchair accessible. Easy parking except at busiest times.

First I have to qualify my reviews. I generally never rate a place / business a 5 star. It is my belief that everyone needs to have something to strive for, to improve. I love this place. Has lots of vegetables that you just cant get anywhere else in the valley. I first found fresh Lemon Grass and fresh Tumeric! I can now make my own fresh tea and dry my own Turmeric....and that is only two.... Then I could go on and on about the dried herbs and amazing varieties of grains.

Excellent chain of markets that are probably Chinese owned, but carry (in nicely segregated sections) a wonderful array of pan Asian products. Thai, Japanese, Filipino and of course, Chinese. The meat and seafood sections are great. The fruits and vegetables varied and fantastic. If youre of a certain disposition, simply going and looking at stuff is a pleasant way to spend a half hour. If youre a cook, this is one of many heavens.

The 99 Ranch Market caters to Asian market especially to Chinese. It offers a wide selection of seafood, fish - including live tilapia, crabs, and oysters, and imported goods from China, Philippines, and other Asian countries. Competitive prices and fast service makes it a convenient choice. Really good price on staples like rice, cooking oils, soy sauce, vinegar, coconut milk and spices.

I love this place. So many all asian products. I buy there my duck for the famous duck a lorange and its so good. They also sell whole fish that they will fried for you right here. I found the same sauce i was buying in thailand years ago. Mussels are also the best i ve ever both. Veggies and fruits are fresh. All for sushi, delicious fresh tuna, salmon ect.... a must !

The best selection of high-quality intant ramen in the Valley and hard-to-find ingredients at good prices. As others have noted its not ideal for common staples like milk and orange juice (although not bad) but for things like Thai basil, bags of oyster mushrooms, and cans of braised eel you cant beat it. I make a trip every couple of weeks to stock up on favorites.
