This little Shop nestled in trendy Studio City will most likely tell you terrible lies and squeeze you mercilessly for every penny you have. I had the misfortune of visiting this location with my fiancée on a Sunday afternoon recently when my car began making an awful roaring noise reminiscent of 12 grizzly bears jammed up into my undecarriage. This Pep Boys was the only shop open on a Sunday and when I called they seemed happy to look at my car imidiately. Score, or so I thought. When I arrived at the shop I exited my car and was greeted by a man with a surly disposition and clip board so large in comparison with his tiny body, it had me struggling to keep my composure. The Surly Man asked me gruffly what the issue with my vehicle was. I told him I suspected one of the front wheel bearings had gone bad. He nodded mutely and motioned for two of his evil lackeys to pull our car into the shop. While the henchmen were doing god knows what in the garage, the Surly Man motioned for us to wait inside. The two emerged shortly and informed us that BOTH front wheel bearings were completely done for. My fiancée and I were puzzled. We had just recently had one of the front bearings replaced. The wheel bearings rarely go bad on cars, so we told the Surly Man it had to be a mistake. He agreed that they dont break often, and then proceded to quote us over $1000 to replace both bearings. We told him we would fix one. The one that was broken. He quoted us $900 to replace one. The part itself is $250, so that would mean we would be paying $650 for the labor to fix ONE. We thanked him and drove our broken grizzly bear car to a different mechanic the next day, but not before the Surly Man tried to con us into paying $250 for a part that was never installed. As of now the new mechanic has told me that one of my bearings is brand new and wont need to be replaced for a very long time. Im having the bad one replaced for $400. My God. I didnt think places as awful as this Pep Boys existed.

If i could give 0 stars I would. Went here today, the people there are SO LAZY. My tire lost air multiple times over a 2 week span - obviously there is something going on.... so lift the car up and find the problem. Dont make me have to come back there just to hear what I already know... theres a nail in the tire. After finding the nail in the tire, they wanted to charge me more than Ive ever paid in any other pep boys to patch it. Told them to leave the nail in the tire and drove straight to a different PepBoys and they did the job for free. NO ONE IS PAYING $25+ TO PATCH A TIRE. SCUMS.

Honest, friendly, respectful, quality auto repair service. I had my radiator replaced nine months ago and brought my van in due to overheating thinking it was the thermostat. Instead they replaced the entire radiator for no charge. As a single mom, I appreciate their honesty and care. This is the place to go when youre not sure whats up with your car and need a realistic, economical assessment and solution.

Wanted to get new tires for my Prius, which has horrible traction from skinny, low rolling resistance 195 width tires. I wanted to go with 205 width in a conventional tire and they told me they would not install anything other than the OEM tires on it. Why? Fear of lawsuits? That doesnt actually happen. Sounds like the manager is mentally challenged.

Took my Equinox in to have a specific repair done thinking it would fix an issue I was having. Gustavo at this PepBoys called to tell me that the issue was not being caused by what I thought, so he asked if I would rather forgo the repairs Id asked for and save the cost. Very honest, friendly and communicative. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Typical sub-par place: non-courteous and not interested in listening, just reading to you from the standard script. If you want someone to listen and understand what you want, or explain to you in a proper what they are doing and why its good for that specific application - this is not the place

Staff were friendly enough, but it took them an hour to change 1 tire! 1 hour!! There was only 1 other car in there. Was going to have an oil change too but told them to forget it, after waiting for that length of time. 1st and last time i will use pep boys...
