We went and bought a dryer this weekend and it was delivered today which is great. Luckily I had done my homework on line and basically knew what we wanted in terms of brand. The sales lady that helped us did not seem knowledgeable and seemed to even get frustrated with me. I have been in sales myself for over 20 years and even if you get frustrated with a customer you should never show it. Anyway I asked about the steam feature on the dryer since may reviews said it was a great feature. The sales lady told us we would not be able to use that feature unless we bought the washer to go with it which seemed odd to me that a company would build a feature in like since not everyone buys washers and dryers in pairs. We decided to get it anyway since the review and brand are really good and I am glad we did. You might think why since it had a feature we wouldnt be able to use. Well I heard them testing it in my garage and went to see how it was going. I said I was bummed to not have the steam feature and the installer looked at me like I was crazy and said it was all hooked up for steam and indeed it was. So the sales person clearly didnt know anything about the products or was trying to scam us into getting a new washer as well. Hopefully once we use the dryer we will like it but like I said I looked at all the reviews before I went in. I would NEVER recommend this store.

I just bought a dishwasher and Im gonna have to say that this was the easiest major appliance purchase I have ever made. I knew I wanted a Bosch. Jacob, the salesperson, showed me the 4 quality levels, 500, 800, and 800-plus. He dissuaded me from purchasing the 800, "The pumps and mechanisms are all the same, so unless there is some feature you particularly like in the 800-series it would not be worth the extra money." Then he showed me the big differences between the 500 and 800-plus and we decided that the 800-plus at $400 more was not really worth it for the bells and whistles. Next he showed me the 4 choices for front panels, and explained that all choices were all the same price. So I ended up choosing my dishwasher in 15 minutes. He said he would match Loews price. I bought the washer, walked out to my car, and looked for the same washer at Lowes. I found a similar one (different front) for $50 less. Even though Loews does not carry the model with that particular front, Jacob cheerfully refunded my credit card, and re-charged with the reduced price. Delivery was done by someone who communicated well and who I would have been comfortable leaving in my house if I had had to run out. He spent a LONG time finding out why it was wet under my sink (bad faucet) and did not charge me. While he was there, he replaced an outlet for a reasonable rate.

I am now quite unhappy with University Electric. We bought a Fisher Paykel dishwasher from them in 2003. We had to replace it in the spring of 2013 - an OK run. However, the handles on this dishwasher (less than 2 years old), have fatigued the plastic that they are attached to and have come off. First, University should not be selling Fisher Paykel products since many of the issues with all of their appliances are, apparently (from reviews), quite well known. Second, we should have been warned of the possibility of such a problem and possible directed to a different brand. And third - MOST IMPORTANT - dont tell us that it is out of warranty and there is nothing you can do. You could do something - its called CUSTOMER SERVICE - especially since we have spent thousands of dollars in your store to purchase multiple appliances - you CHOSE not to do anything including offering a reputable repair service. Seriously! We will NOT EVER use your store or purchase anything from you again even if we have to pay additional shipping to buy over the internet. One of the reasons brick and mortar stores are [supposed to be] better is for their customer service.

I am very disappointed about the review on this store i found on the internet. It appeared to have good reviews on Yelp (later i found out all the bad reviews are put at the bottom) and my husband and decided to buy a fridge at this place. We are serious buyers and want to splurge a little to buy a quality brand that lasts. The sales guy recommended a brand, 1st day after installation, the fridge is making a high pitch noise that was aside from standard cooling. I am concerned about the quality and called them to schedule for return. Guess what? They have a NO RETURN policy on everything. Are we still living in the 21st century??? Anyhow, i was first told either to talk to their legal team or CEO. Then later told to go through their repair process, only if it is not repairable, can the fridge be refunded. $2900 spent to get a "repairable" fridge? I then called the two repair services they recommended, nobody picks up the phone. If you are serious about buying something and not to be stuck with quality issue outside your control, you should NEVER go to this place. Now i have warned you, hope nobody else will fall into the trap.

My husband and I were looking into buying the fisher & paykel dishwasher and thought of University Electric since we bought our washer, dryer, and fridge here. We live in Gilroy so it is not a quick drive to Santa Clara. We signed into the sign in sheet and 25 mins. later, no one had helped us. I asked a man behind a desk how long it took to have someone help us and he said, well, we are busy, we have to fax items, we have to call places and once we finish with that, we come help you. I told him, I would understand if it was 5 mins. but it had been 25 mins. already. He said if we needed help, we have to wait until they are ready to help us. We will get to you when we get to you. I myself, being a business major, would not run a business in this manner. We walked away HIGHLY disappointed and ordered our dishwasher at Lowes were we received very good help.

There should be a way for the overall rating to reflect the responses for the bad reviews by changing it to the well deserved five star rating this company deserves. We remodeled our entire kitchen and purchased all of our appliances from University Electric and found them to be completely professional and price competitive. The installers they recommended were also five stars. They respected our property, removed and installed all the appliances without incident. We purchased a Sub-Zero refrigerator and have hardwood and marble floors. They put down floor protectors from the entrance to the points of installation. We could not be happier.
