After eating lunch at a nearby restaurant, I decided to come here for a refreshing dessert, since Ive been hearing good things about this place. I knew I would have high standards for a Vietnamese dessert place, seeing how I grew up eating Vietnamese desserts. Parking is easy since they have a parking lot in the back and there is street parking available. I ordered the Che Thai, which is their weekend special, and my friend ordered their #1 Bambu special. This place only allows you to use a credit or debit card if you order $10 or more, so bring cash. When they called for me to pick up my order, they told me that they miscalculated the cost of my order and asked me to pay a $1 more. I think that this is very unprofessional, seeing how I already paid and received my receipt. It is not my fault that the cashier forgot to charge the additional $1 for a large. Sure a dollar isnt much, but I think that the mistake should not have been made in the first place. Anyways, after dealing with that situation, I looked at the desserts we received and was surprised that my Che Thai was white and not the traditional light green. I think that Bambu definitely does their own version of Che Thai. They were missing grass jelly in the dessert, which normally turns the dessert a light green. I tried my friends Bambu special and was very unimpressed. All in all, I think there are better places to get Vietnamese desserts, especially if its going to be pricey.

I grew up eating che, so when I found out Bambu had a location near me, a trip was a must! PARKING: Lot in the back DRINK: #1 - Mmm gotta love that basil seed. Theres honestly something here for everyone. Even the tamest of stomachs can handle a mango smoothie at the very least. My drink was pretty tasty (a bit on the sweet side for my liking), but all the ingredients tasted fresh which is very surprising considering all the different items they have to keep in stock to make drinks. Prices are a bit steep, but its nice to treat yourself every once in a while!

Bambu is a great addition to the SGV dessert scene. It definitely brings a new twist with their Vietnamese inspired desserts and smoothies. They have something for everyone: sweeter and more creamy desserts, lighter and more refreshing ones, and also fruit smoothies and coffee for the non-adventurous. #6 and #10 are my favorite so far. The jackfruit smoothie and avocado smoothie are also quite delicious as well! They also offer durian smoothie, so watch out for that pungent smell when someone orders it! Parking: Free street parking.

This chain from the Bay Area is basically the tea shop version of Vietnamese dessert drinks. They have their own variations of che and coffee drinks. This location does not carry coconut jello in the husk if youre looking for that. Customer service is excellent. They told me up front that they didnt have pandan jelly when we came in right before closing. They offered me extra of any of the other free toppings.

Bambu has quickly shot up with opening multiple locations and turning the Vietnamese dessert, "Che", into a boba tea type of industry. Their drinks are really well made, with authentic mix of ingredients. The coconut milk is a little too heavy for my taste (thus the 3 stars) but could see how this could easily become a summer dessert go-to for many people. I hope it continues to expand in popularity!

This was an awesome Bambu! The place is clean and new-looking with TVs to watch while you wait. The Che and smoothies were delicious and not expensive. The staff were very friendly and got all of out custom orders correct. They also have a rewards program through five star. Theres a decent sized parking lot in the back with a back entrance as well.

Expensive for Vietnamese desserts, but no one makes them this sweet and fun. Worth the experience. #6 for the fruity and sweet tooth. Thanks for making "Che" mainstream.

I put one star because it is required, but in reality, it deserves zero stars. Horrible customer service. It took 30 minutes to make two drinks.
