My review is a bit skewed. Overall the Safeway is like most other Safeways—it has been remodeled recently so the setting is what youd expect. The issues I have with this particular Safeway is its the only Safeway in Petaluma, so its usually really crowded. Especially the parking lot—always a bit of a challenge to get parked. Also, the pharmacy is a mess. Theres always a line...on average Ive waited 20-30 minutes each time Ive been (3 times). I feel sorry for the pharmacist, poor guy is overloaded every time I go. Thats the other problem with only one Safeway in Petaluma.

This Safeway has many tables and a counter where you may relax and eat, and charge your phone! The restrooms are also located right there in the front of the store, too. They always have yummy samples of their baked goods in the bakery department, in the late afternoon. This is a large store, always bright and clean, with lots of salads, soups, and breakfast available from 6:00am to 11:00am. I think it s the BEST Safeway, with helpful, friendly, and kind staff.

Shopping here is a nightmare. The aisles are barely wide enough to fit 2 carts in, and there ARE multiple stacks of products and displays in EVERY one. Every time I shop here I have to plan for enough time to stand in line for 10 to 15 minutes because they never schedule enough cashiers to handle the business. Come on Safeway / Albertsons... Get it together.

Really good selection in the deli section, and they have fresh-made chinese as well. Check out times can be really long, but I usually use the self-service checkout and that seems to move pretty fast. Like the large parking lot especially during the busy times as it makes parking easier.

The Petaluma Safeway is great. They are well stocked very clean convenient and friendly. They have a lot of locally grown produce and a wonderful Organics selection. There is outside seating for the deli and the Starbucks and its a beautiful store. Just a pleasent place to shop

Another one of the very nice Safeway stores here in California, Very clean and nice with a bus transit terminal in parking lot. Short ride there on Petaluma Transit and then back close to home. We like the wide variety found at Safeway, and this store was especially nice.

Deli counter staff saw me waiting for help but continued taking to each other. After being ignored for a few minutes I left. Fresh bread is no longer fresh, being trucked in I guess. Less crowds and better customer service at the "G&G" location on Sonoma mountain parkway.

They just got done rearranging their store what a pain. In addition to that I was there at 1 in the morning and they dont have a person standing at the checkout waiting for you. You have to buzz him and then wait for him to get there. Added 5 minutes to my night.

Nice atmosphere. Lots of healthy prepared meals/food and a decent selection of groceries. Its usually busy though and they keep moving everything around.
