Safeway on Gellert in SSF used to be a Pak N Save. This Safeway is pretty wide with plenty of selections to fit your grocery needs. Theres also a Starbucks inside too, for those of you that need coffee while shopping. Lots of parking in front of the Safeway as well. I appreciate whoever organizes the fruits and veggies by color. Every time I come here, the bell peppers are organized by green (top), red (middle) and yellow (bottom). It just looks aesthetically pleasing. Cashiers also appreciate when shoppers label their bags of dried fruits and nuts using the appropriate product # and name. Once, I didnt do this and I held up the line for about 10 minutes. I felt awful, so to avoid this from happening again, I make sure to use the twist ties to close the bag and use a pen to label the product. It saves time for the cashier. Not a lot of Safeway employees to help out on the floor though, at least when I come in the evenings. I knocked off one star because usually, when I shop here, there are often long lines at three cash registers. Youd think theyd have more registers open, but nope. Just three or four. I hope this can change to accommodate to more people.

Big grocery store but not too big. The Pros: Clean, selection - lots of local brands, friendly helpful staff. Large produce section but I honestly dont buy produce here because I think its overpriced for the quality. Bulk bins, bakery, deli and even a butcher! Conveniently theres also a Starbucks, bank and an Amazon locker inside. Big parking lot! The Cons: Occasionally price tags are missing or an item is in the wrong area. Restroom needs to be tended to more often. As stated above, produce is overpriced. Lines can get really long at checkout. The pros definitely outweigh the cons and I never have trouble finding help. The staff is great so management must be doing something right. In summary, this location is clean and well stocked with friendly helpful staff.

Surprisingly large and very clean. An impressive alcohol selection considering this is a grocery store. The few times Ive been here there always seems to be something not working properly with the registers. Once the scale wasnt working so anything that needed to be weighed couldnt be purchased (to be fair, it was only the scale in my line, but the store was busy and there was no way I was going to get out of line and back into another). The lines can be long at certain times and like any other grocery store there are way more checkouts than there are cashiers. Ive never understood why a store has 10 checkstands and only 3 cashiers.

Whats wrong with management? Patrons are walking around like zombies looking for items where if you ask workers some don`t even know, And the isle signs should be blocked and workers should be standing there with clip boards with info. Of where items are that way they can guide you to the correct isle anything instead of leaving it to the patrons to find there way. Not cool!!! And the one manager kind of tall with black hair female thin, was standing around talking laughing having a good time, Well the money paying patrons walk around in a daze, Come on lets get it together. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars, its actually called Pak n Save by the way, was because none of the express lanes were open and there were huge posters above the checklanes that said more checklanes would be open after 3s a crowd. That didnt happen. People were pretty mad at having to wait so long. The cashiers were great trying to go faster so people could get out of there. Maybe its new management or they werent able to schedule more cashiers or both. Great new look doesnt help when there are at least 10 people in line.

Horrible deli service. The clerks at the deli are incapable of doing their jobs. Adriana is the only decent one. I have noticed that the rest of them are mostly Asian and seem to pick on her. But she seems to be the only one with any kind of effectiveness and is actually friendly and good at her job. Safeway really needs to do better here

Big place, alot of selection but when it gets busy, there is not enough people in different departments to avoid the typical waits of at least 5 minutes. Spent a total of 30 minutes just to order 1 item from the hot food section and then pay for 2 items. But I guess thats most busy supermarkets during sales day.

After renovation, this store becomes more upscale look and feel. A new Starbucks booth is set up. Shelf layout is totally rearranged for better product display. You see much less junk food selection but more healthy options. I like to go back to there more often.

Much nicer store since the old Pak N Save days. My only complaint is the produce section. Seems to be too much emphasis on the Organics, which I dont buy into. But hey, Im just a guy who doesnt do that much grocery shopping so take it with a grain of salt.

Large Pack N Save transformed into basically a warehouse Safeway. Helpful staff lead you to the correct areas and get you anything missing from the isles if they have it in back. Almost always fully stocked with everything. The new remodel is great.

Long lines and more clerks needed to bag grocery. The transition from pack n save was great but I had to walk through the parking lot today just to get a shopping cart since none were in the corral near the entrance door.

Largest Safeway in the area. If this place does not have what you are looking for then you need to switch to another chain. Like that their asian selection is better than most other Safeways in the area.

The largest safeway I ever saw!! What a vast collection of things. Surprising that theres no self-checkout counter here though. Quick checkout however. The cashier was super friendly and efficient.

Initial impression was positive until I hit the checkout. At some of the busier stores (say Linda Mar or Half Moon Bay) you see managers really pitching in trying to get things done... not so here.

A good selection of food and a starbucks usually no long lines. Good service. Asain foods my kids love and i recently bought a single use blender been making smoothies and milkshakes for my kids.

Huge Safeway store. It is no longer Pak N Save. Includes a Starbucks and a bank. Flowers are always fresh. Full service meat market, bakery and Deli. It is too large if you just want a few items.

Disabled person and they always have a cart for me it may not always be charged but theres always a cart for me very helpful staff really appreciate this place been going here since I was young.

Huge lines and time of the day. Way too understaffed. This Safeway used to be so quick to get in and out about 5 years ago, I think Daly City has become a lot more popular than it used to be.

Used to be Pak N Save (which was own ed by Safeway). Now its another safeway and trying to be a little more upscale with a starbucks inside and an expanded and cleaned up produce section.

A very clean and organized store. I can always walk in and get what I need immediately. The downside is the lines but I know everyone works super hard and does thier job amazingly.
