I was in the Pet Club today in Emeryville today and had the most unpleasant experience. I had gone in looking to purchase a Triple Crown Collar for my new dog, having previously purchased one for my older dog at the same store. Apparently, Pet Club no longer carries these collars. Rather than receiving polite & helpful assistance from staff, we were subjected to a series of very unhelpful encounters ending with abuse by one of the staff yelling & cursing us. She said that these collars had been discontinued (which incidentally is erroneous-- you can find them all over the internet & in stores all over the country!!!) & when we attempted to walk away she continued to yell at us in front of a store full of customers & staff. I told her she was being extremely unprofessional & when she continued to curse at me, I asked the store manager to intercede. He just rolled his eyes & walked away. I have to tell you, I have never had such an extremely rude experience in a retail store & will never return to Pet Club. I hope that this review will shed some light into the terrible management of the Pet Club store in Emeryville, maybe others are better managed, and that whoever built this business and has some real pride in it, will take some action to repair what is clearly broken in Emeryville.

This place is a gem! It is like Costco for pets. Note that they only take cash or debit (no credit cards here) to keep prices down. You can occasionally find things cheaper on Amazon, etc., but it beats all other local pet shops, and the selection is huge! This is my place of choice for dog food, toys, treats, etc. They also have a vet clinic on Saturday mornings, which is very convenient to pick up some shots or flea treatments for your pets. Highly recommended!

The employees here have historically been very worthless and absent. Struggle to find someone, and then they wont be able to help you. I gave it a second star because it seems like they have hired a couple of hardworking people lately that actually know their stuff. Those people have a line of customers waiting to get to them for help. Items are frequently out of stock. Bins/ shelves are often disorganized.

My dog loves it here but they dont carry the food he eats. Well stop in for chew toys, poop bags, and a collar from time to time. They seem understaffed and finding someone to help you locate pet stuff is difficult at times. Still though, a lot of common items for most people. Go to Pet Food Express for everything else.

Fantastic! Great prices, much lower than pet food express on some things, has a biscuit bar where you can pick and choose goodies for your pup (always fun) and a good selection. My only criticism is that they are frequently out of stock of things between shipments and sometimes there arent price tags on the shelf

You have a pet? Pet Club has something to sell you! Terrific selection, and low prices are the plus here. The minuses? Traffic jams, and most notably, a parking lot that is easily the most confusing I have ever tried to navigate. Still, the cat food is the cheapest in town..

The entire place is a bit smelly, they didnt stock any of the quality brands (Orijen, Stella and chewys etc) and there wasnt a huge selection of dog beds. The ones they did stock you could pick up at Ross for half the price. Lastly they dont even accept credit cards...

This place is awesome! Good alternative to Petco or other big stores. Their fish section is really cool - they have stuff that other people dont (including tropical fish and glow fish). They also have supplies for all other pets pretty much. Prices are really good.

Well stocked for cats and dogs. Had fun hanging out by the feeder mice when a woman was telling us a story of having her pet snake escape behind the dash of her car. She was buying some mice to lure it out! The aquatic section sometimes looks a bit sketchy.

Pretty sketchy parking lot and never enough cashiers but they have a wide selection of pet food and pet products and their prices are good. There is no membership fee even though it says "club" in their name. Also, they dont take credit, only debit.
