Extremely disappointed. If you look at their historical negative reviews there is a common thread about their customer service. Very similar experience as Dinah in an earlier review. Store was empty. No one coming by to help. Maybe because I was with my children? After 25 minutes I had to go to the register myself to seek help. I am a novice cyclist and the older gray short haired "manager gentleman" was snooty and made me feel like I was asking silly questions regarding bike frame sizes. Unprofessional and unfriendly. Will never go or encourage anyone to go. A group of other cyclist walked in and the same manager scoffed at them and made a face at a fellow employee right in front of me. The Asian gentleman was more of a gentleman and offered to help and gave general advice. I declined to have them help me further and was ready to buy bikes for the entire family as we are preparing for a trip to Yosemite. Little did they know a smile and attention to service and detail would have gone a long way for their business. It was like the Pretty Woman scene except I was a man looking for a bike! Ridiculous and sad. Hopefully they will read this and take note. Every customer deserves the proper time and attention regardless of their knowledge and expertise. The store was empty that morning for that matter! Look to other places like Long Beach Cyclery in Bixby Knolls.

Shopped at the one in woodlandhills The one by elcomino and the one in long beach for about 6 years now(on hardtail mtb road and track) and they are such great guys these are your "oh lets do.a ride today"kinda fellas who are perfectly knowledgeable about bikes and "the struggle"very very good prices.bought eggbeaters here and they were over 60 and i said online is 34 and the employee said we match all prices on our site and charged me 35 instead(tax included) a store thats well worth a visit if you need tubes (bought thick tubes from here about $7 for years now for my fixed and tires aswell and can say i dont get flats EVER just old tires from skidding and tube will bust and im the av3average rider whos on a road team and buys road gear here and race solo on track bike(also buying parts here ..5 star treatment here

This is an expansive and well-stocked bicycle shop located in the Long Beach Town Center near the 605 freeway and the San Gabriel River Bike Trail. Their selection of bicycle parts and tools is comprehensive, from bicycle lights to tire pumps to trainers and any other piece of equipment for both the casual and competitive cyclist. Their customer service was excellent with the employees all helpful and informative. I went into to have a seized up bicycle pedal looked at and while they couldnt help me with it, they suggested a suitable and less expensive replacement that I have as of yet had any problem with. Some of their higher end products are in the more expensive range though adequately priced for the caliber of the products. I will definitely try out their repair shop next time my bike needs servicing.

Performance Bicycles is a bit like the Walmart of bikes, and Ill tell you why. Sure, its an "expansive" store and sure, it has crazy low prices (especially on their own brand), but they can afford such a low margin because they sell in volume. With 100+ stores, they dont need to make much profit on that bike or that tube because they sell a hell of a lot of them. Also, they hire folks that either 1) dont know anything about bikes or 2) cant really help you like you would like them to because of the corporate nature of the business. If youre cool with undercutting your local bike shop to save a dime, shop here. But if you want to support your community and shop at a business where the owner probably lives in your zip code, shop at one of the other many fine bicycle shops in Long Beach.

This review is for the repair shop only. My brother in law wanted to have a new gear shift installed on his bike. Took him on a Sunday, was quoted $14.99 and pick up on Tuesday. Seemed reasonable enough. Come Tuesday they changed the price to $19.99 (actually wrote a 9 over the 4 on the work order), and added a bunch of other charges that were not discussed with us and they didnt call to get permission to do other work on the bike, resulting in a total of $35 for what we thought would be $15. They are also really, REALLY unfriendly at the repair desk. Sales staff was friendly enough. I dont recommend doing business here because of their attitudes, and they dont honor their quotes on price of repair.

Great store. Worst customer service. They didnt have the bike I wanted so I asked them to order and ship it to Torrance store which is next to my house. First the sales person billed me for a wrong bike. Next thing you know I get email telling me that my bike was shipped to Corona CA which is 1 hour drive from my place. I told the sales guy several times to ship the bike to Torrance CA and he confirmed they will make sure to ship it there! I am very disappointed with their service.

Google show the hours on Sunday from 10am to 6pm but the store closes at 5. Which is not a problem but when I brought it to a store employee attention he said "Google needs to fix it not my problem!" This is second time I have dealt with an unruly employee at a Performance store. I will not support them anymore.

I brought my Bike to the store to adjust / fix the shift Gear, front & Rear Derailleurs, but when i brought it back home, one of my derailleurs(the rear) was mot adjusted. I am not happy with Technician / Mechanics for the fact you didnt fix my last request for my bike..
