My son & I were almost in an accident because of their bad brake job! BEWARE - You could be risking YOUR LIFE! I took my vehicle to PEP BOYS HOLLYWOOD for a complete brake job. When I left, I noticed that the brakes were "locking" up, so I called the service Manager and he told me that sometimes the brakes need "breaking in" and to wait a few days. I ended up bringing the truck back and leaving it there for the day to be checked. They found NOTHING wrong, but said they lubricated the brakes. The next time I drove the truck - Again - the breaks were locking up. By this time there was a new Service Manager - Ignacio. He told me to bring the truck back ONCE AGAIN - and assured me he would take care of it. I did so - and he couldnt find anything wrong with it. He then told me it was "probably" the ABS system and that I should take it to the FORD Dealer. He further explained that if it was the brakes - that PEP BOYS would pay the Dealer Costs to replace the brakes. I was driving down an LA Freeway after a light rain with a 10 year old in the passenger seat - and when I put on the brakes -they LOCKED UP and the truck spun completely around. We got out - completely shaken up and called a tow truck and had it towed to the Ford Dealer. The dealer said they put faulty brake shoes on the truck and they replaced them and it is GREAT now - as it should have been. Ignacio lied and only offered me 205.00 back and did NOT pay for the BRAKE redo which was $350.00. When I asked to speak to the General Manager - He out right LIED to me ONCE Again - saying "HE" was the General Manager - which he is NOT - he is the Service Manager. I will now blog and take them to court them for STRESS & the 10 (yes 10) times I had to be dropped off and picked up to get this truck serviced and re-serviced. by the way - a call to the Corporate offices was never returned. BIG MISTAKE PEP BOYS - cause Ill get whats coming to me either way - and so will you. CONSUMERS FIGHT BACK!

DO NOT GO THERE! These guys are a joke. They obviously have no idea what "customer service" means. I had made an appointment online to get a smog check. I get there and Hector Carias (apparently the man in charge) told me there was one car in front of mine and that it shouldnt take long at all. After about 30 minutes, they finally got to my car (whats the point of making an appointment?) I decide to go to Trader Joes that is nearby and when I come back I see my car parked in the same spot it was when I left. So I think to myself that they still havent gotten to it and wait another 20 minutes. I finally decide to ask some guy what is taking so long with the smog test, and he says "let me call Hector". Obviously, it took the guy another 10 min to find where Hector was as he wasnt on the floor, and when he finally finds him, Hector takes his sweet a$$ time and walks around the shop joking with the mechanics (even though he knew I was waiting to talk to him) RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! I couldnt believe it. He then proceeds to tell me that my car had been ready, meaning I had waited 20 minutes for nothing just watching my car parked there. Noone ever thought of telling me my car was ready. AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME. These guys have no respect for peoples time and dont know a thing about customer service. I will never come back here and will definitely let people know not to put a foot in this joke of a place.

I went in to get my oil changed and my tired rotated one day at 8 am. I work a few blocks away and had to be in at 9 am. I knew it only takes 30 to 45 minutes, but at 8:50 I was having a heart attack and they said they could give me the car back without the tired rotated. I didnt care, as long as I didnt have to pay for it. About 2 weeks later my car started leaking green goo! I had to take it back and complained about how this happened about a year ago when I got my oil changed. They checked the radiator and told me it was just the cap and its only $6 for a new one. I was relieved, until I got the bill. $30 just to CHECK to see whats wrong with the damn car, then $10 for the tire rotation, $6 for the cap, and an additional $10 for something I cant even understand. But, it was only $50 some for the whole ordeal and I figured I got off easy. 5 days later I walk out to my car on my way to work and ITS LEAKING AGAIN!! WTF?! Are they sabotaging me!? Go in to fix one thing, destroy another so I come back? This time it cost me about $300. You guys suck! UPDATE! Since I wrote this my car continued to leak. pepboys took it back YET AGAIN and told me it is the water pump . . . $1,100 TO FIX! The refused to put what I already paid for the crap that didnt need fixing toward it. I ended up SELLING my car for $1,500 and getting a new one. SCREW PEPBOYS! EVERYONE, FIND A LOCAL MECHANIC!

I called in the afternoon and asked if I came in right now could they give me an oil change and a smog test before 5pm. They said, "Absolutely, bring it right in". I brought it right in and they were busy of course, and when I got to the counter and told them I had just called they said, "Oh, it looks like we wont be able to do the oil change, but we can do the smog test". A little annoyed, but still fine since I needed the Smog Test done, I said yes. They told me to come back in an hour and it would be done. I came back an hour later, asked about my car and the guy at the counter said, "Sure thing, Ill go check on it for you right now". I then proceeded to watch him joke around with a mechanic at the front desk for the next 15 minutes, right in front of me! I finally walked back up to the counter and asked, "Hey, so whats up with my car?" He said, "Ohh, we were having a problem with our computer so we werent able to get an accurate read for the smog test, but if you still want Pep Boys to do it you can go to the one in downtown LA." So I called and you said you could give me an oil change and smog test, and now Im leaving with neither one. Thanks for wasting my afternoon pep boys.

While on vacation , my tire air pressure light kept coming on. On the last morning (8/3/17) before I was leaving to drive home ( a 4 hour drive), I felt very uneasy and decided to go into the Hollywood Blvd. store. I told the guy behind the counter ( I am sorry I dont remember his name) what was happening. He told me that they would look at it, but I would be awhile and I would need to leave it there because they had a lot of appointments. I explained to him that I was from out of town, I did not have anyone to pick me up so I would need to wait. As he took my keys he said that he would try to fit my car in. I was sitting in the lobby for about an hour when he called my name! This GREAT GUY had the technician check all of my tires in that time and he found a nail! They were able to fix it at minimal cost and very quickly. I could not have been more pleased! I told them how thankful I was that I could now have a safe and stress free ride home!! They were kind, courteous, and professional. Especially to an out of town-er!! THANK YOU!!!
