This is a follow up review with the Petco in Glendale. In response to my previous yelp review I was contacted by Ramon who had seen that I had posted my number on the yelp review (he left a message on my phone). I also received an email from Petco telling me that they would follow up with me via email. So I emailed Petco and got a response saying they would follow up soon. It has now been two weeks and I have had no follow up email. Then today I had a moment to give Ramon a call back. He is the person who left a message for me on my phone and wanted to "follow" up with me. He introduced himself as the manager of the Glendale store so naturally I thought, "oh, maybe he will be understanding and wants to help me out". I was wrong. He just recited the policy and then tried to bring my partner into it by saying "doesnt your boyfriend know the policy?" Which was very condescending to me (sexist too) and not the issue I was contacted by him for at all. The issue was I was sold icky fish and not my Partner. Which Ramon claims now is impossible because none of his other fish had it... well Ill tell you what, you can have fish with ick in a tank with other fish that dont get ick. The store was closed by the time I noticed other wise I would have marched right back in there and handed them the fish in the same baggy. Ramon proceeded to get a little angry and tried to justify the bad customer service by saying he tries to give his customers the benefit of the doubt. He then tried to tell me I was lying. I am college student who has taken courses in marine biology and oceanography. I dont need Ramon justifying his Petcos atrocious customer service. I was sold sick fish period. Im not talking about his other tanks. I was talking about the customer service I received and about the sick fish that were sold to me. At this point he continued on his justification rant and was saying he wont do anything to help me when I started to cry. I cried because I was in a spot where I was wronged and the company that wronged me was attacking me. I hate being a victim but I was further insulted by Ramons condescending words and his attempt to make the fish issue my fault. They contacted me and I called them back, now Im being yelled at by Ramon? I just wanted some fish. I had to hang up because he would not stop and was still being rude to me. I was not going to be verbally assaulted by the company that stole my money and sold me sick fish. I am over petco at this point and refuse to step foot in there again. It has become a hostile environment that has now cost me precious time and energy. I feel harassed and ask that Ramon will not contact me again. I will be personally writing a letter to the head of petco. I know that due to the nature of the situation my letter will probably be tossed in the trash but I will do it anyway. I was wronged and yes I understand their policy but they could have been nice at least. It doesnt seem good customer service is a goal of Ramons. I recorded the phone call. You can find the record of the experience I am referencing on my yelp review.

The dog grooming at this location is very poor. On a Saturday, I took my 5 month old, small (14 lb.) puppy to be groomed (which is helpful with my allergies). Being a puppy, he is easily excitable, but is very docile and loves other dogs. He had been groomed at the Pasadena location before with no problems. At Glendale, when I arrived to pick him up, his fur was shaved unevenly and extremely close, and his face and head were not trimmed at all -- he looked like he had just been dunked in water up to his neck. I was told the grooming was unfinished because my puppy was too aggressive, had been growling and biting, and had to be muzzled. I was also told this was because he was agitated by the other dogs. I wasnt refunded any part of the grooming and was told I could only bring him back to have it finished without extra charge if I came on a weeknight when the same groomer was working. Instead, I took my puppy to the Pasadena location the same day and they finished the job with no problems. It is worth going further to Pasadena.

Must be friends and relatives of the owners posting these terrific ratings. I would be okay with this store if they didnt lie about when they were going to be getting in shipments of certain products. But they not only lie, they seem to have a stock answer. "Itll be here on Thursday". I heard that for 3 weeks in a row and after making 3 trips at 12 miles each (round trip) I kept getting the same answer. "Itll be here on Thursday". Everytime, told to me as if they knew for sure. Apparently, thats what the employees are told to say to everybody when asked when something will be in. Some of the prices in this store are absolutely absurd, too. I dont like stores that use retarded policies. So.....bye bye, for good.

I bought few gold fishes over a period of 3 months, they all got strange parasite (worms). after I got the fish to my aquarium a red spot with a white thing hanging on it started showing on the fish body, I went back to Petco and asked the guy about it, he said (OHH that white thing is a worm) and you need to pull it yourself. then I checked the other goldfishes in the store and OMG they all are infested with worms, I went back to the guy and told him (Look at your aquarium, they all have white worms) he replied that Yes we know and Im treating them. the issue is they still sell sick fishes just like what they did to me,

I had visited 2 days ago, with an intentions to buy a chameleon. Everything was great except they were out of chameleons. I explained why am I looking for chameleon and the representative agreed to call and see if other stores had one? She found in Burbank, by telling that its little more expensive breed and the last one left. I asked why and she said because of more vivid colors. When I drove to other location their rep told me its a female and it doesnt change the color. :( I needed one that day and I end up wasting my trip. So the point is, need to learn their products and breeds for accurate information.

The older I get, the more Ive gravitated away from chain stores and supermarkets and towards the mom and pop stores around the corner. I discovered Rock Dog and Cat while I was on an afternoon stroll almost a year ago and beyond a few specific treats that my cats cant live without, I almost completely depend on Rock Dog and Cat for all their feline nutrition needs. From tuna flakes to the best dry food around, to wet food humans could basically eat, treats, toys and cleaning supplies - they really DO have it all here and they sell it with huge smiles on their faces.
