couple months ago i went for a chain check up to see how much life left my chain had at the EDH store and the guy said i need it new chain asap along with a new cassette he also said i needed tires and a new tape for my handle bars so i was like really my tires only have about 400 miles and my tape is one month old and he just said oh ok after that i didnt even belive i needed to replace my chain and cassette i felt he just wanted to sell me wherever he could because i told him i was new to this sport and i have been ridding for six months so i left and i went to my favorite store so far PERFORMANCE BICYCLE on sunrise and madison in fair oaks CA and the guy there told me i had about 200 to 250 miles left on my chain depending on how i ride and my cassette was ok not too good but not too bad and i probably needed to replace too when i replace the chain so after 200 miles my chain started skipping so i was like yeah its time to replace chain and cassette as the guys said so i went back to PERFORMANCE and they replaced both for half of the money that FOLSOM BIKE wanted to charged me and they only charged me the parts no labor. Now today JANUARY 26 2016 i took a ride to Beals point and i felt my tires kind of low so i google bike store and Folsom bike was just cross street so i went to see if i could use their pump and as soon as i waked in there the guy at the counter wanted to sell me a new helmet and i said thank you but i just need to know if i can use you pump and even after i was using the pump he kept on trying to sell me a new helmet so i left that store with another bad impression.it just seems like no matter what you go there for they will always want to sell you everything the can, you dont need to know to much about bikes to notice when some one is just trying to sell you stuff. oh and their prices are too high.

Folsom Bike is the best bike shop I have ever walked into. Ive been a customer of Folsom Bike since the day they opened and this is the first review I have ever posted on line. I took my 2008 Trek Fuel EX7 in for a minor tune up, only to discover the frame was cracked. Brad at the service desk then reminded me that Trek has a lifetime guarantee on their frames, as long as you are the original owner. Brad worked with Trek to get me a very fair warranty credit toward a new 2016 27.5" Trek Fuel EX8. Brad & the Folsom Bike crew have always treated me and my bikes with the best service possible. Before Folsom Bike opened several years ago, I struggled finding a bike shop that would take care of my needs. Folsom Bike exceeds my expectations at every turn. They are the best!! And I am also a lifetime Trek customer. The new 27.5" Fuel EX8 is incredible. My skills havent changed, but I am a much faster and capable rider on the new bike. Im clearing obstacles with ease that I was forced to walk over on my old 26" bike. If you are new to biking and need a bike shop or if you are not satisfied with the service you are getting from your current bike shop, I would highly recommend walking or riding into Folsom Bike. Like I said, they are the BEST!!

I do not know where these good reviews are coming from. I used this bike shop for few purchases and minor repairs in the past. It was OK until today they are asking for $35 just for labor to replace my tubeless. Also, the price for a single tubless tire is 100% over what is sold everywhere else - $105 per tire. Hey, my Michelin tires for my car are $134. You nuts! I am not going back and do not recommend this bike shop to anyone. Prices went up for everything I checked. Save your money. I also noticed the staff is changing very offten, which tells you it is not a good environment to work at.

I am always nervous when taking my bike anywhere I have to leave it to be worked on. I happen to know a friend that told me I should try to get my bike over to FB for a little work I had been putting off. I cant even begin to tell you how happy I am about the level of service and professionalism. Every detail, from the minute I checked in, until they called to explain an issue that needed to be addressed. Price was less than quoted and work completed on time (even with extra repair). Will never, I mean never go anywhere else. thank you much. Howie Pearsol

Took my beach cruiser in for new tubes. Got it back and they striped the threads on rear axle . They said that I had a broken axel. Went to Rufus bike shop in diamond springs and he got a new axel for me because Folsom bike couldnt find one. Front tire was only finger tight as well. Its like they just didnt care ,because I wasnt spending a lot of money. When we bought my wifes 3000 dollar bike they were great. Im sure there are awesome people working there, but they really dropped the ball on this one. Im sorry to have to rate them so low,but this was wrong.

Folsom Grind: The coffee is a flavorful medium Italian Roast. The staff are incredibly pleasant and helpful, it is the kind of place that once they get to know you - your beverage is waiting for you at the counter. Small but adequate. No merchandice clutters the dining area. Folsom Bike: Nice, knowledgeable people there to assist with Bicycling questions and equipment. Even though this is a high end store aimed at serious cyclists, everyone was helpful when I needed assistance with basic gear. The only negative is that their wares are pricey.

my high school aged son needed a minor tightening of his bike hub - it required 3 minutes time, and they had the nerve to charge $15, which equates to a shop labor rate of $300 per hour. On top of that they just sold a customer a $10,000 bike, so it appears revenues are not an issue - they must just like taking high schoolers money. I called the shop and was basically told tough luck. So I encourage everyone, that whenever possible, take your business to any of the other numerous bike shops that will treat people respectfully, and not gouge kids.

Folsom Bike is the best shop in the area hands down. The staff always goes out of their way to provide great service. Its obvious everyone there has a passion for cycling. They stock a great selection of gear and a wide variety of bikes for men, women and children. Theres even a large wing dedicated just to womens cycling, the "ride like a girl" program created by the owner Erin. The attached coffee shop has great everything including beer & wine. This place is a consistent consumer favorite for good reason.

Folsom Bike is freqn awesome. I live in Elk Grove but they do such a great job on my bike that I drive up to Folsom any time I need work done. For example today on a group ride I was having issues with my rear cassette. Stopped by and was greeted by Chris told him my issues and I had a new cassette on in the time it would take me to fix a flat. Top knotch shop and they will get all my future bike dollars!
